Why does anyone care what someone's name is? As long as it's not a profanity in the native language of the parents what difference does it make? Surely we have more important things to tend to... like why all the rate the hotness polls are "Whose Hottest?" and not "Who is Hottest?" :pickle:

My German great-grandparents weren't too clever. My grandfather was named Rudolf Adolf and his brother was Adolf Rudolf (He went by Otts here in the US). Now they were born in late teens WWI-era Berlin, so Adolf was an OK name to go with then.

I have mentioned this here before, when we were doing name choosing for our boys, we realized that we couldn't go with my grandpa's names. Now his middle name was an obvious no-no, and with his first name you have to think like a third grader, and a kid named Rudolf would get abused on the playground, especially around the holidays!

Bucky Hodges is a great name. Really a lot of these names are perfectly fine, I mean you can't really control last names, so are we really throwing shade at names like Chris, Jack, Adam, Jake, Jeremy and Eddie?

If your first and last name represent a terrible alliterative cadence, then yes, we get to make fun of them.

 
Reality Winner's parents should be arrested too for giving her that name.

Now that's a killer name!

 
One time I helped this younger kid.  Good kid, decent sense of humility for someone his age.  Probably 14 or 15 or so.

His name was Yomajesty.  As in 'your majesty'.  I can't even with some of these kids' names anymore

That's probably worse.  I wonder what goes through someone's mind when they give themselves such a stupid name.

 
My wife had a uncle Bronco(nickname)

So of course, one of our friends overheard a story about Uncle Bronco, and named their kid after him

 
In high school we knew a dude named Tim that wanted to be called Clump of Sh**.

At a certain point he grew tired of that and wanted to go back to Tim, but we all decided Clump of Tim was better.

This looks like the Crew team from Oxford...love the fact there are two Grayson's...you know it's gonna bug the hell out of the parents all year long after they thought they were so unique...Cylas...as soon as the kid is old enough you know his nickname is gonna be Cialis...

 
Named our second son, Brennan. The wife is very irish and wanted Brandon or Brendan. I knew plenty of both names and we settled on a subtle variation with Brennan thinking it would be original. In his class is another Brennan. On top of that, their last names are only a couple letters off. So that didn't quite go the way we planned it.

If you'd have picked Bob or Fred, he would likely have been the only one.
