Coach Otis All-Value Team (1 Viewer)

I notice a few of the Otis All-Value Team members listed in the Footballguys sleeper matchups this week.

:lmao: But seriously, other than the OP and a smattering of semi-insightful posts, I expected a lot more Hawks to be gathering in this thread. :lmao:

I'm torn here as to what to root for and which outcome would result in a more popular thread. An epic fail would certainly draw in detractors, but hitting on a few home runs would certainly send the schtick factor to record levels.

Otis will keep posting no matter what...if he goes down with the ship he's not worried, that's what most like about him. He's not afraid to take chances 11 User(s) are reading this topic (3 Guests and 1 Anonymous Users)7 Members: Happy Ragnarok, Ministry of Pain, identikit, OtisSpy, Incogneto, GloryDaze, Ketamine Dreams

been reading 'the pool' for years. One of the best posts ever, for that reason...i'm rooting for Otis to be right... even if I don't necessarily agree with much of it. +10 for cajones and a good read!

Oh, let's not kid ourselves here. There will be some down weeks when the sharks bump this thread and claim victory. But when the dust settles, the hawks will prevail.

Matt Forte

All value all day long and the hawk in me gets all giddy when I see something like this. It's perfect really. Guy has a down year after being a top-5 consensus pick the year before. His team was a mess last year, he was injured, and he looked injured out on the field. Fast forward a year, and you've got a guy calling the plays who actually knows about offense (and a guy who knows how to utilize a good pass catching back), and you've got a healthy Forte who, by all accounts, looks like his old self out on the field, and his biggest competition for touches is a 30-year-old back who has broken 1,000 yards rushing exactly once in his career, when the Vikings were desperate at the position. This journeyman isn't keeping real talent off the field. Now, don't get me wrong here -- Forte is NOT physically gifted as a worldbeater. But he is competent across the board, and is now back to health and in the right situation. He won't average 4.5 YPC, but he will outperform all expectations and be a starting caliber fantasy back. Hawks roll with Forte. Let the gups take Gore.
you do realize that not one of Mike Martz's last five offenses has finished with a winning record..you also realize during that 5-yr run, these offenses finish last in INT's and last in sacks allowed and last in rushing...(source Fantasyindex.com)

take it to the bank, Forte will not be anything more than a bottom-feeding RB this season, i.e., RB #29-32 or so..Cutler will get killed//turnovers will hurt time of possession which will hurt Forte's chances of becoming a decent viable starting fantasy RB ( or otherwise)

and you're absolutely  if you think Forte is a better draft pick , or better player than Gore in 2010
One saving grace about Martz for his RBs is that no coach runs the ball on a higher percentage of plays inside the 5 yard line than Mad Mike Martz. How often his crazy offensive scheme gets Chicago inside the 5 yard line is up for debate but you can expect him to run the ball once they get there.

This is funny.

And fwiw I agree with most of his sleepers :bag:
Kiss of Death
We're not talking about girls in the FFA, champ. This is shark pool fantasy football. When I endorse something, it's based on weeks of research and chatting with the big fish. I'm not a hawk yet, but I'm no ordinary shark either. I'm more like the FF version of this creature: http://livefeed.hollywoodreporter.com/2010...iler-video.html

Am I allowed to post here, or must I change my name?

Thanks, Otis. One of the best posts I've read in quite some time.

Eric Roberts?

Keep up the good work Otis! This thread is pure gold!

Hi Otis. First off, I'm a big fan, been looking forward to this content all year. I hope to see more of this in the FBG premium content for '11.

I was wondering if I could get some Hawk thoughts on the following article. My big money league draft starts this afternoon, timed to end 5 minutes before the first regular season game so we get as much information as possible. Thanks in advance.

You want to really show the guys in your league who's boss? Throw away your first round pick. Seriously. Toss it. When you're sitting around the table and your pick comes up and everyone looks at you, just politely say "pass." Do the same thing in the second round. Let them laugh. That's just a sign of their insecurity. The quiet ones are the ones who understand, at that very moment, that they aren't dealing with just any ordinary fantasy magic football guy. This is a real life hawk, and they're sitting across the table from them, and the one thing that is going through their mind is what they should be putting in the Memo field of the $50 check they are writing to you, because this fantasy season has already ended for them.
Otis, this might be the greatest signature worthy paragraph I've read in a long time....too bad I'm not into signatures. Great post, agree with a lot of them.....this #### is hysterical!

Isn't it a little late for this topic? It seems like it's telling you who to pick during the late rounds of your drafts. With the season starting tomorrow I don't know many people that haven't drafted yet.
Pssh, you are supposed to take this information and apply as general strategy to next year's drafts. Which if you are a hawk should be starting just before tonight's kickoff. Great thread. Beats the hell out of working.

I think if Otis pooped on an FF magazine some of you would call it genius analysis and bronze it.

I suppose you're thinking you can dupe me into providing AC forum-like advice for you here on your punters? Fella, from this vantage point, high above the trees, I can spot that dorsal from miles.
