It wouldn't surprise me. Larry David and a few others were on a podcast and they made mention how a lot of the dialog is unsripted. They have a general point they want to get across but not the full dialog. Now how much of that is truth I don't know...I wonder if Gervais improvised the line about Seinfeld being "broad comedy" and David left it in.I have watched the scene twice, and the way Larry flinched and his mouth opened but he didn't have a comeback seemed unscripted. He looked genuinely surprised by that line. He's heard all sorts of insults about his personality, his baldness, his outlook on life, but I would bet he has not heard any snide remarks about Seinfeld, and that's maybe why he was caught off guard.
Saw and interview with LD and he confirmed this. Also said that when he's talking to Leon and it often looks like he doesn't have a clue wtf Leon is talking about, is because he doesn't have a clue wtf Leon is talking about IRL.
Never heard of the Fugitive?I knew about the connection...It did not make the show any better.
Lots of films/tv shows I haven't seen (Saving Private Ryan, any of the Godfathers, Friends....)
