**Dallas at Philadelphia**(-8.5, 48.5) 8:20 NFL Kickoff on NBC (1 Viewer)

The team should deactivate him for another game.
I have a feeling the commish will do that for them.
If it happens it’s deserved. If he got suspended and I had to choose whether it’s the Eagles or NFL do it, I’d prefer the NFL do it.

Bc the Eagles can the use that as a negotiation tactic to get him cheaper next offseason when he gets that 35-40m per year extension

I'm not staying up for this. Good night all.
I'd understand the disgust if this game weren't a 1 point game. Are you not entertained. 10:49PM and you've had enough, huh?
It’s not a 1 point game
*checks crystal ball* I think even an Eagles fan can see the implication there. Probability says, Dallas is walking away with points (probably a FG).
Eagles have the ball?
Hah, my bad. Forgot about Miles Sanders. I've drank my way thru the intermission.
All good I forgot about him after SB57 all good

This generation and time period could never handle Brian Dawkins.

They couldn’t handle most of the 90s. Heck they couldn’t handle Jordan Rules NBA. I had a young coworker (no longer there) was talking to me about current nba. I told him check out some nba action from late 80s to mid 90s anything with Chi, Knicks, Celtics, pistons, lakers Sonic’s, start of spurs dynasty. He came back to me a few days later saying he wished the nba was still like that. Sent a huge shock to his system.
Grew up watching that age of football, while it was entertaining... I think we can understand why the rules are different.

Also, wouldn't matter if the penalty was reviewable. I don't see how they'd overturn it, based on what the league is trying to accomplish, in terms of player safety. Hah, you cant even slap the QB in the head, as an edge rusher.

By player safety I mean, lawsuit payouts.
1 word and you hit the nail on the head

Money

The NFL doesn’t •really• care. They just don’t want to lose money whether it be lawsuits or the new lady fan that can’t tolerate the violence (or crave it?) like some of us dudes.

Whats sad is they did it to themselves and us. They paid doctors to lie and fessed up to it. Its no surprise, the NFL hasnt done much right in decades.
Kinda what happens when you get anti trust exemptions eh
What they did to bennet omalu with his research was disgusting. If people haven’t seen it go watch concussion with will smith that goes over this.

I mean...maybe. You look at things where players like Ridley and Luck sat out/retired for mental health and were the Bills and whatever other team decided to stop play because someone got hurt so maybe they are just "soft" but that ALL players couldn't handle it? I'm not sure. Alot of this stuff is league mandated though. The NBA/NFL are just trying to protect their brand and try to avoid lawsuits. I couldn't name any names but I would think/hope some of the players could stand up to 90's play but you could easily be right and they are all a bunch of soft weak minded children.

Wasn’t talking players in nfl more so younger fans but I will include nba players today. They cry if someone breaths on them and think every contact is a foul.

West coast livin ain't too shabby. Still got daylight here
Where you be General?

Oregon. Just now finishing dinner.
Makes sense. When we went on an Alaskan cruise last year I was like “Holy shi* it’s still light out at …915pm!!” While in Seattle before we set sail.

Super underrated City btw…

Ha! Go to Anchorage in June sometime. I was there as a 24 year old auditor and went to the Great Alaska Bush Company (do not Google this at work or with family around) around 9pm. Still light out. Stayed until about 2am, broke after flinging my last singles with all the guys in town from their fishing trips. All I wanted to do was slink away and go to my motel room under the cover of darkness.

But OH NO.....walked outside to a blistering sun, exposing my shame and burning my soul. Was not prepared for that.

Haha ya know I’m not sure AK is on the list anytime soon for travel. Had a grand ole time and all, but got more stuff within the US to see.

The broadcasters on NBC are so scripted...
Collinsworth doesn't even finish his question, barely starts it and Dungy already is prepared with his answer
They know exactly what they are going to ask each other, there is nothing that resembles anyone thinking for themselves.
They literally say what they want the next person to agree with as they put it on a tee ball for them to swing at....

It's the dumbest level of football discussion, it's like they are talking to people that have never watched a game and I'm not sure these folks actually watch the game
Your mistake is listening to these people. There's no value in it.

Ypu both have EXCELLENT posts.
I dunno, I like Collinsworth. I think he does a good job.

So I imagine when we play, Joe just

some of that is likely performative though, right? I've seen all of the leagues (NBA/NFL/CFL) were players act like they got hit or whatever so they get the foul call or whatever their intention is. I've seen the videos of Lebron flopping like a fish.

Born and raised in Dallas. Moved away in 1996. My relationship with the Cowboys is complicated.
