Dallas Cowboys Offseason Thread (2 Viewers)

Just draft a rb in the middle rds for ****s sake
That’s all Breece will cost fwiw, but of course will only have him a year
I know you guys are desperate for a decent run game and need RB's in camp. I am not sure that spending draft capital on one veteran running back is the answer though, especially if that vet will be coming off a rookie contract within a year. Don't the Cowboys have multiple pressing needs along both the offensive and defensive lines? You might be better off grabbing a couple RB's in later rounds and/or UDFA's after.

I'm not a Cowboys fan so not in the you guys category but for a mid round pick I don't care about all that stuff. I'm a Steelers fan and hoped they'd get him for this kind of cost.

Duh

Ahahahahahahaha-ahahahaha

A OG AT 12th!!!
Trust me, for us this is a win. I kind of feared they would grab Sanders. I would have thrown my computer thru the window.
This is a solid pick. Will be an anchor player for years. So happy they avoided the flash and are rebuilding the line. Now, grab an RB is round #2 and we are building something.
I actually think he is a solid prospect. Just…12th overall - very rich, would anyone else have taken him in the first round?

McShay was pretty certain he wouldn't fall past the teens. Idk.

I'd have taken Jalon Walker but I think a great OL at any spot is always a good pick.

Feel like he was consistently in the mid first round grade bucket throughout the process.

For the 2nd round pick, are we thinking RB, WR, or something on defense? My guess is RB, then role the dice and hope a decent WR is there in the 3rd.

To me, the RB position is low on the to-do list until other things are in place. Henderson (or whoever) would be nice, but this class is really deep. There's no doubt some good RB prospects are going to fall.

I wouldn't be opposed to taking one on day-3.

I agree. I'm just trying to guess what the IIC(Idiot In Charge) is gonna do.

The Cowboys draft is always interesting, lol. I don't think a RB in round 2 would be a disaster, but I'm curious to see where they go.

To bad Dallas doesn't have a 4th round pick. Then they could take Sanders to replace Dak. :oldunsure:
If their wanted a damaged CB, they could have had Will Johnson in the second.
I don't see how Sampson or Skattebo is still there on their next pick.
Still looking for WR 2. :coffee:

A solid prospect. lol. Stop acting like you know anything Mel Kiper.

What round does Sanders have to fall to for Deion to call Jerry?

What round would you be OK with taking him?
I'm at the point where I don't hate it. He's now undervalued IMO.

Yeah, I went from I wouldn’t touch him with a 10’ pole to hmmmmmm……maybe this will humble him. (It won’t).
He's gone from being an extreme longshot at the start of the draft to only +650 right now.

I would have drafted him over Dillon Gabriel.
Yeah, that made no sense. It seems like any reservations about Shedeur have entered irrational territory now.

At this point I hope the Eagles take him. All it takes is a good preseason game and they can flip him for a 3rd.

Maybe you should go discuss that, in the Eagles thread.

I might, it's pretty dead in here, like the Cowboys chances at a Super Bowl for the next decade.

Can you point to an instance where someone played a good preseason game and then was promptly traded away?

Brett Favre, 2nd round pick Atlanta. Well . . . he did get into 2 games with the Falcons. He was 0-4 passing with 2 INTs and a sack in 5 plays. Was traded to the Packers the next year for a 1st round pick.

ETA: Then you got guys like Matt Hasselbeck and Mark Brunell who were Favre backups and only saw garbage time snaps in the NFL who were traded. I'm sure if I did a deep dive of guys who were drafted as backups and only played preseason/garbage time I could turn up a bunch more. It's not really needed, it happens.

Great. Go talk about it elsewhere. I scanned the last few pages of Eagles thread...maybe my notebook is wrong but I don't see anyone else going over there just being a ****. Sure would be cool if ours wasn't the only thread where another fanbase constantly came in to be rude or annoying.

To be clear you said someone plays a good preseason game then gets traded. I'm aware people get traded with only a ****ty game.

I was responding to someone posting about drafting Sanders. You're the one who was rude.

He’s solid.
Taking a OG with a top 12 pick just seems crazy.

Or another way to put it

Booker + Donovan E

Or

Jalon Walker + Tate Ratledge?

I’m happy you guys went with this plan trust me all good.
