Deadly Animal Draft (1 Viewer)

Pygmy Hippo??? Going for the sympathy vote or something??

With my pick I take the Black-Chested Snake Eagle

A bad, bad bird. It kills snakes, it kills small animals (can you say Mongooses?)

A 2 for 1 deal if I have ever seen one.....

(and they are real pretty too)

With my next pick, I will select the poor man's hippo. That's right. The Pygmy Hippo. I am getting a hippo 1/3 of the size of the overall 1st round draft pick but in the fifth round. This is what we call value my friends. For the pygmy hippo's  go here.If you would like to test your knowledge about the pygmy hippo, go here.I'm not going to lie. I am hoping with this pick I get votes I normally won't deserve by picking a derivation of the hippo. This thing is an oversized pig, but not as mean. This is nothing more than a cheap stunt to gain votes.
Could probably still take off the face of a kitten or a finger monkey. Nice get.
yes, that's right. my pygmy hippo is the penalty animal assassin. i will let my bad boys take on the other badass animals while my pygmy hippo bites the face off the FINGERMONKEY!! and the dumb kitten.then he can be shy as he's prone to do.

I was pretty much all set to begin ripping on this horrible pick until I read your frank and forthright disclaimer. You are a smart GM, that is for sure.Death matches are decided by counting ballots, not bodies.

5.14 - Fast Eddie21 5.15 - The Goat 5.16 - PAO 6.1 - PAO6.2 - The Goat6.3 - Fast Eddie21 6.4 - CourtJester 6.5 - Sandbagger Anyone hear from Fast Eddie? He is on the clock. I am going for coffee. If his pick is not here when I return... well, let's just say it better be here.

Thanks to Jzilla for the Condor pick... It will take small animals, at a pinch, and the carrion-clearing duties will be well recieved. Not sure how long I'll be around. So I'll load up the picks again...

Sorry, but I am infatuated with the Leopard Seal. :excited:

It has killed a human...

"In recent years diving off the Antarctic Peninsula has become a popular adventure travel event. However one such diver died in 2003 from a leopard seal who thought she might have been a tasty Penguin. Leopard seals rank alongside killer whales as Antarctica's top predator. Named after their spotted coats and fearsome jaws, leopard seals have large, reptilian heads and streamlined bodies. They propel themselves using powerful fore-flippers, reaching speeds of 25 miles per hour (40 kilometers per hour). Females grow larger than males, weighing up to 990 pounds (450 kilograms) and measuring over 13 feet (4 meters) in length."

nicely done! to you, sandbagger.

For this selection, FastEddie receives:

The Giant Clam

As their name implies, giant clams are the largest clams in the world. The largest grow more than 4 feet (1.2 m) long.

Once a giant clam settles into a place and begins to grow, it stays permanently attached to that spot for life.

I am sure you have all seen the horror stories of the scuba diver with his foot causght inside of one of thee terrifying creatures. You Betcha, and for defense... clam up!

I doubt anyone is interested in picking up that poorly organized squabble. Though it would be an upgrade over CourtJester's weak starting lineup.JAA

I was going to apply but with only 3 picks left, 2 of which must be spent on a bird and a bride, I feel team Rabid Kitty is unsalvageable.

Everyone who applied for the vacant GM position should check their PMs (and turn automatic notification on).

With the shortfin mako going at 3.7, Christmas has come early for POA’s Pimpin Powerhouse to have this selection drop down to us at 5.16.

This pick makes an extremely excellent pairing with the Great Hammerhead. I present Isurus paucus. The longfin mako.

For those with the large lumbering sea animals, you’re quick to point out that it was plural animals that took down your behemoths, now you no longer have that flimsy argument to fall back on. My “pack” of sharks compliment each other very well and will be able communicate together in sharkenese to even further raise the dangerousness of this combination.

Some pics

Next pick coming...

:rotflmao: that's not right.

Maximum report 417 cm. Unknown reproductive maturity, a mature male was 245 cm in TL and mature females were between 245-417 cm in TL. Length at birth 97-120 cm in TL. This shark is the second largest shark in the family Lamnidae.
Mmmm... tic-tac.

Having to go with an air animal here. I thought the largest eagle around would suffice. I am proud to select Pithecophaga jefferyi. Also known as the Philippine eagle or the Monkey-eating eagle!

Sometimes referred to as the Monkey Eating Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi), this is the world's largest eagle, standing approximately a meter tall. The adult eagle has generally dark brown dorsal (back) feathers with a fluffy white chest. Its long narrow crown feathers form a crest when raised and are light coloured with brown centres. It has a massive beak, powerful legs and wingspan of around 2m. The wings are broad and tail long, enhancing maneuverability in the forest.

For his next pick, The Goat selects the largest bird in North America:

The California Condor

The California condor is North America's largest land bird. Adult condors have a bare, orange or yellow-orange head and neck and a white bill. Both sexes of this species have similar coloration. The body is mostly black, but the feathers on the back are edged with brown. The underside of each wing has a white triangle-shaped patch that extends outward from the sides of the body and can readily be seen when the birds are soaring overhead. A whitish wing bar is found on the uppersurface of each wing. The legs are pink.

For the next penalty pick, might I suggest one of these?

The pics are awesome.
The Wad-Wad mammal was created by a fourth-grade girl. It can survive cold temperatures with its thick fur and thick-layer fat. It survives hot temperatures because it no-sweet pants [it pants, but doesn't sweat]. The Wad-Wad uses its sharp teeth and digestive stomach to eat plants. It can be eaten by mammals with sharp teeth, strong jaws and keen eyes that are fast. For defense, the Wad-Wad uses its slippery fur and small . Wad-Wads attracts mates with their bright color (male on left; female on right).

Well, we were going to go with the Siberian Wolf

but it turns out they're not all that mean.

So I'm making an executive decision at the last moment and going with a mean sucka,

European Wild Boar

Tusks/shield: A boar has four continually growing tusks that can be extremely sharp and may reach five inches before they are broken or worn from use. A wild boar’s tusks are used for defense and to establish dominance during breeding. A male feral hog also develops a thick, tough skin composed of cartilage and scar tissue on the shoulder area, which is sometimes referred to as a shield. The shield covers the hog, beginning from the neck to the last rib. This shield is generally about 1 inch thick but can be more than 3 inches thick and is found mainly on the boar. Its purpose is to protect the boar during battles with each other. Tusks, which are found on the lower jaw, or mandible, can be extremely dangerous when put to use by a mature boar. The upper tusks, or whitters, help keep the lower tusk extremely sharp.

Well, since I need a little more bulk on the land---I am going to go for the

Rothchild Giraffe

I went with this particular anminal because this type has more horns jutting from it head which they use in fighting (neck fighting).

Plus giraffes kill big predators such as lions, tigers with kicks from their front legs

Sandbagger is up with 2 picks. He's been around most of the morning, so I assume he is putting together his pics and data. His previous problems have not been with being late....

Sandbagger is on the clock. I saw him around earlier and he has never been close to late with a pick, so I ma going to cut him a little slack. Say another 15 min. or I will pick for him.
