Democratic Debate (1 Viewer)

Eh, I predicated that on a few things which never happened. I'd say this is very much where things were pointing.

My point here is the reactions here is very much how she's perceived across the country, she's largely disliked.
Which is why she has gotten more votes anyone? She couldn't be leading Bernie in the popular vote by the margin she does if she was largely disliked by Democrats. Again you were just flat out wrong about her popularity in the Democratic party, if you were right, she would be trailing Bernie in vote total at this time, not the other way around.

Happy to defer - I can think of 10 reasons for a Democrat to vote for her starting with the USSC but it's a tad much to ask everyone who votes for her to "like" her.

And this thread has gotten pretty annoying too. Every other post is "OMG HILLARY YOU SCUMBAG LIAR I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR YOU!!!!"

I mean come on guys, we all know how you feel already. Add some thought to it.
I've never said that before about her, I don't think. But she was being blatant with it. Repeatedly.

Really disappointed in the mods (in the debate).  They started off strong but lost control midway through, and it led to Hillary sucking all the oxygen out of the room.

I didn't see most of the debate. But IMO when it's down to two people its wise to refrain from interrupting them as much as possible. Let them go on.

I wish you saw the beginning.  They held each person accountable for answering the question.  If they dodged it, the mods came right back to it.  They gave up entirely about midway through and it turned into a Hillary fillabuster

I think many parts of tonight hurt her.  And the mods gave her rope.  Its true what you say --they shouldn't have allowed her to have the rope-- just like she shouldn't have been allowed to read. But suffice it these are for sure negatives for her.

The best part of the debate was when Sanders told HRC, Bill should have bought a 100 cans of chunky soup after their honeymoon.

Read from what? A teleprompter?

She's reading prepared passages on her podium. She did it last debate too.  She does it because her positions are so fluid she can't keep them straight for debate to debate.
All candidates prepare in advance and rehearse both their opening and closing statements. No one wings that.

I think the mediators did good the first half - second half they did seem to let her go on and  but that doesn't necessarily help her - once or twice you could her the crowd murmuring

Hillary you scumbag liar. I will never vote for you.
I so agree with this.  It's just that we have to vote against Trump. She is so awful, just one of the biggest liars, one of the most disingenuous figures in American political history.  That's saying something.  And, yet, just our luck...someone worse is running opposite her in the same ####### election.  So, I have no option but to vote against him.

There's no way Obama can like her... she definitely brokered her way in to SoS... I'm sure he'd love to poison pill her with the FBI
I can't put my finger on the Obama-Clinton dynamic. I tend to agree with you but then I wonder why Biden didn't run if that's the case.

Obamas legacy now depends on Clinton becoming the next POTUS. Otherwise a great deal of what he accomplishes goes out the window under a republican.

well definitely never know the full story with them.

They were cutting them both off way too quickly early on.  Once Hill and Bern figured out you could just ignore them it got ugly to watch.

Just watched the part about Palestine. I have to say I am impressed with Bernie's answer. That was politically brave; more important he's right...to an extent. Hillary was right as well.

I wrote "to an extent" because Bernie never specified HOW we are to be more fair to the Palestinians- I agree that we need to be, but what exactly does that mean? That's when it gets complicated, and Hillary was correct to point that out.

All in all it (the Palestinian question) was a good discussion, and one that's rarely heard in American political discussion.

I'm sure it will be out there somewhere - I'll try to find it latwr
Here's the quote - can't find the video yet

Sanders on why he called out President Bill Clinton for defending Hillary Clinton's use of the term "superpredator" in the 1990s: "Because it was a racist term and everybody knew it was a racist term."

Except that Trump brought it up first.

The only to an extant that Hillary was right about was that she attempted to stake positions on every side of the issue.

Hillary's response about not releasing her Goldman Sachs speeches: very unconvincing.
Doesn't matter. Won't be an issue in the general campaign. Doubt whoever the GOP candidate is will bring it up, they don't want their speeches to private parties released either (see Romney 47%).
