Denarius Moore - CIncinnatti Bengals (1 Viewer)

fools gold is right
:rolleyes:A rookie on a below-average pass offense with the best rusher in the league covered by Houston's big time free agent corner isn't blowing up your week 5 FF hobby team?FF has turned people into week-2-week traders. Like asking a day trader for economic advice.D Moore is a really good young player. That hasn't changed.

Ooof. Laid an egg for me today. WTF happened?

I have McFadden too and he did squat for the first time ever.

Yet Oakland won 25-20?

Could Belichick have been zeroing in on Moore and Ford, opting to let guys like Boss and DHB beat him?Would go with his MO of largely taking away what you do best. I still think Moore is in for a relatively big season. Oakland is going to score some points ... he may not be a consistently productive guy ala Calvin Johnson of course, but as a second WR I think his boom weeks will make it worth wading through the bust weeks.
I think this is mostly what happened -- plus Ford not quite yet 100 percent -- BB wasn't going to let the Raiders bust big plays. IF DHB and Boss catch some 25-30 yard plays, they're not going to take it to the house like Moore and Ford might. So he kept the ball out of Ford and Moore's hands.
best post of the thread - brilliant analysis . . .

So what happened this week then?

Al Davis possessed DHB's body

This week it was just a matter of Denarius Moore not being as good as we originally anticipated.
you mean as some people anticipated . . .---------------on another thread i think they posted DHB with 12 targets - and he was in on most of the snaps . . .

Denarius had 6 targets. If JoJo was on him the whole day, I really see that as a positive. He's a rookie, of course he'll be inconsistent, but he is getting targets. Houston does have a pretty solid defense now, though it's not the best, it's probably a top 16 defense which is at least average. They did sign one of the better young corners in the league and he was covering Denarius the whole day. It does suck he had a 0, but, as long as he gets targeted, I'm optimistic.

I was at the game and this was more of the Texans putting their best and truly only serviceable CB we have on Moore the entire game. Campbell tried to force the ball to him a couple of times but Joseph was spot on. DHB had Jason Allen on him all day where words can't describe how burnt toast he was. I mean he was really bad and let DHB do whatever he wanted. Allen did get a INT but it was a floating gift from Campbell. I'd step off the ledge if I was a Moore owner.

19 pages is pretty extreme. Raiders have sick speed at WR + DMC. Moore will definitely have more jaw-dropping moments this year.

Side note, I didn't know, or forgot, that the texans drafted Brandon Harris.

Along with Joseph, the defensive backfield won't be looking too bad in a few years. That's new for the texans.

Glad I traded this bum for Holmes when I still could. Like I said, I think his market value peaked after getting a TD 3 weeks in a row. He'll probably have a 100/1 game once a month, good luck figuring out what week that is not getting burnt for his other weeks like this one.

starting to see why this thread is so long . . .
I see it too. There are idiots that missed out on him spam posting it when this guy has a bad game like they were right all along. They just won't shut the hell up. They'll be gone soon enough though.

Since his big breakout against Buffalo he's had 7 catches for 53 yards over 3 games. To break that down for you it's roughly 2 catches and 17 yards a game. I'm sure people who missed out on him are fine with it right about now.-Moore Owner

Don't rain on Amos' parade. He's that owner who is happy to finish .500 in his league, riding a ship to the bottom of the ocean.

Should I drop this turd for another in dhb?
That's precisely what I *almost* did yesterday for today's line up, and had 2nd thoughts and didn't go through with it. Also considered Baldwin instead of him, but figured I should give him a shot given the Al situation and it was a home game. And now i'm going to lose thanks to his goose egg. He gone.

^Yup.Get off the roller coaster ppl.. like, seriously  The stuff I'm seeing in this thread is the kind of lame, surface-level, lazy, reactionary "analysis" that leads the masses to fantasy football mediocrity/failure with regularity. With a player like, Moore, the talent is obvious. We saw it earlier in the season, and he didn't suddenly forget how to play football. Other teams have wised up and are rolling coverage to this guy like crazy, leaving the much less dangerous Raiders' WRs with room to operate.Honestly, D. Moore's redraft prospects are dicey.. he's a borderline WR3/flex play in most leagues.. cuz the Oakland passing offense is  and he's their best player not named D-Mac.. but he's extremely talented, he's for real, and he'll be a regular WR2 or better beginning in 2012 the latest IMO..

Well, hes going to the bench for now.

DHB is still available on the wire in my league and if hes outplayed by him again I am dropping Moore for DHB.

There is no doubt Moore has talent, but DHB has been getting huge target numbers the last couple weeks and hes playing well.

In the short term(maybe the rest of this year), DHB is trending up and Moore is def trending down.

i did think it was kind of funny when OAK needed a 3rd down conversion late in the game (like a 3rd and 9) they threw it to DMAC for 15 yards when he was lined up as a WR. DMAC is probably their best WR....

From a real football standpoint, this is good news for the Raiders. They have guys producing. Moore is drawing the best corner and the other guys are stepping up. I'm sure the touches will swing back around to Moore more often than not because other teams are going to get burned playing this way. I mean the Raiders did WIN this game and are now 3-2. They're making a play for the AFC West crown and are also in wild card contention. A lot to like here. They are still a run first team but they are proving they can get it done with the pass too. DMC was laregly contained in this game and it was a W.

We go through this every year don't we? Every season members of the media hype up one player that Was taken late in the hopes that he comes out of nowhere and performs in the mold of Marques Colston (7th rnd pick). Havent we learned by now not to latch onto these players? Does the name Victor Cruz mean anything to you? Denarius Moore has next to no chance of being fantasy relevant if he was on a good passing team, so what makes you think that he'll be relevant on a bad fantasy team? Come on. These media members are always on the lookout for the next greatest thing so they can say that they were the first to report about it. Don't fall into the trap! Denarius Moore is not draftable in any redraft league. You're better off just forgetting he exists.

Yeah me too. I'm eating the popcorn watching all you guys fluff eachother over a mediocre WR that had 1 good game. 12 catches for 199 yards and 1 TD after 5 weeks is brutal. Those are WR4/5 numbers. I cannot believe the circle jerk going on in here about this kid. 19 pages. And for what? Keep this thread going, it's very entertaining to me.

Keep this rant going. I love reading these kinds of posts by bitter FF owners who hate on players they miss out on

Clearly you weren't involved in this thread at it's infancy. I've been telling people that Moore was fools gold before the season started. Look at the date that MassRaider quoted my post, August 7th. So don't tell me that I'm a bitter owner because I didn't get him. I'm a smart owner for putting him on my do not draft list (in redraft leagues). However, you sound like an owner that bought the fools gold and is so bitter that you did. :boxing:

The main thing I've gotten out of this exchange is, clearly, all of you love eating popcorn.

What a bunch of know-it-all douchebags — Moore was worth taking a flier on. I don't recall anyone declaring him an every-week starter, but I'm not going to read through 19 pages to check....Clearly, it was a risk to think the Raiders passing game might take off with these young receivers. I'm pretty sure you don't hit it big without going out on a limb now and then.

That said, Ford is worth owning for me as a bye-week fill in because he got me 20 points in my PPR-return yardage league so it was worth owning Moore to see if the two of them could produce. Campbell may not be a worthy fantasy starter but he is managing a very good offense with an elite running back and is in position to help the Raiders contend for a division title. And any dumb### knows that a rookie like Moore is going to be inconsistent.

I'd read most of this thread. Let me apologize for not memorizing every single thing that I've read in the past weeks...what I recall is people being excited about his big game against Buffalo. Some maybe overly excited. Anyone with any sense knows not to read too much into one game. Anyone starting him blindly after 1 big game must have been desperate for a WR. Reading too much into his failures the past two games could be a mistake too.
