Denarius Moore - CIncinnatti Bengals (2 Viewers)

he scored the TD on the Hail Mary too, co-possession goes to the offense!!!

(another BUF DB pull DMoore off the ball AFTER the whistle)

Incorrect. If you watched the replay, the Buffalo DB clearly out leapt Moore to put both hands on the ball. They struggled on the way down, but the same DB came out of it with the ball.

I really hope this was enough for Hue to convince Al Davis to bench DHB and start Moore here on out.
This is my concern too, although I assume the directive comes from Al Davis. When all the receivers come back healthy, will Moore get the snaps he clearly deserves?

My guess is no, but not because he doesn't deserve it. Al Davis wants DHB the starter, and Ford will be back soon as well. The fact that Moore was ignored for the most part last week, makes me think that Hue does what Al Davis wants.

Didn't watch the game but the stats are impressive. Was he shredding the D and a focal point of the O? Any chance of a 1 week wonder?

He made two and a half spectacular deep plays, displaying excellent speed and amazing sticky hands. This is no track star. This guy is a silky smoothe NFL WR1 in the making.

Guy is the real deal. He's smooth as hell. He acts like he's been there before, even after a spectacular catch. He'll be a starter for the rest of the year and one of the best rookie stories this year IMO.

My guess is Al Davis may have had something to do with the Denarius Moore pick.

Of course he did, but that has nothing to do with DHB being his prized 1st round player.

Were these the same arguments made last year about Jacoby Ford?Moore got plenty of PT last week, and wasn't ignored, the Raiders were more concerned with false-starting, and no one got a lot of looks in the passing game. Week 2, he goes 4 for 122, gets the ball on a reverse, should people ignore that because someone thinks they know the inner workings of the Al Davis/Hue Jackson relationship?Has anyone asked where this insight comes from??

Wish I didn't drop him in 1 league last week. I am sure I won't get him back.
Ditto. After week one, Oakland passing game didn't look so hot. Plus, Moore looked like he might be odd man out.As I often do, I dumped my late round sleepers after week one. (A failing of mine used to be holding onto those guys too long.)I dumped Denarius Moore, Greg Little and Bernard Scott for Deion Branch, Eric Decker and Earnest Graham.Of course, I'll try to get Moore back. Not the deepest league and I'm 1-1. Maybe everybody else is sleeping. Doubtful. These things happen. Perhaps I overreacted to week one. But I reacted. It's what one must do to keep alive. In shallow to mid-depth leagues, waiting for guys to develop can often be costly. Guys in my league routinely stash players for next year (limited keeper). Often, such actions undervalue the cost of the roster spot.

No reason this guy shouldn't start. I was at game & most his big plays came right at us. TD in double coverage was Moss-like. Perfect coverage - he just outleaped DBs and showed strong hands coming down with ball. Darn near had the Hail Mary. Broke open on other plays where Campbell looked elsewhere. This kid is what DHB shoulda been.

The bolded was what I was thinking. Remember that incredible season when Brady to Moss was producing jaw dropping circus catches between defenders that made you laugh ashamedly for the poor CB's trying to cover him. That's what Moore's catches looked like. He's every bit the playmaker that Randy Moss was then. Even that last hail mary, he almost got it. Great observation and comparison to Randy Moss.

Not gonna hold my breath this kid gets the snaps he deserves going forward (assuming DHB is healthy), but it's a nice feeling to think maybe I hit on stud rookie WRs in consecutive years (MWTB last year).

For me at least, the fear comes from the fact that the Raiders have consistently given DHB PT even though he doesn't seem to be very good, and Moore, based on one game, is probably already better than DHB.

I caught much of the first half. He looked good. Sort of like Mike Wallace with less speed, but much better jump ball ability.

I don't understand how a kid like this playing at a big program like Tennessee could've slipped through the cracks. He should've been lighting it up at that level. He certainly appears to be the real deal.

I dropped him early in the week. When you drop him in our league you lose rights to his keeper status if you get him back later in the year. Sad story.

He'll be sitting on my bench next week, but after that, if he's got a lock on a starting spot, I may use him as my wr3.

Dont trust him against the NYJ.... Dont care about Revis island much, but the pass rush and will be too much for the raiders

Is it appropriate I just dropped Randy Moss for Moore? p.s. this guy needs a nickname
 Clutts, the FB for the Bears needs a nickname. Guys with really long and hard to pronounce names need a nickname. D. Moore is just like he is. Kinda like "Randy Moss" - see? No nickname.

I love the shark pool :)
:goodposting:Thanks to the SP I over- drafted this guy in both my leagues. Thank god I did. Funny thing is he wasn't even on the Raiders homers radar who loved Ford this year. Those highlights of Moore have me giddy though. If he continues to start he is gonna put up WR2 numbers at a minimum IMO.

Even if Moore doesn't start, he's proven himself now. He was on the field a good amount in the first game, and even if they're only bringing him out in 3-wide sets, there figure to be a lot of those.

Moore Week 2 highlightsHeyward-Bey can't do what this guy does. No way he comes down with that 50 yard TD outfighting 2 guys. Bey could catch it if he was standing alone in the endzone.
There's no way he's a 1 week wonder. This guy is legit. Now it's just a matter of how the coaches use him. If they're smart, he'll be starting from here on out. Week 3 bears close watching.

Nice find if you WRs suck or you lost Austin for a couple of weeks but he is still a rookie that needed three injuries in front of him to get PT.

Dynasty great potential but in redraft or small keeper leagues he will get thrown back like the rest of the WRs outside of the top 5.

but he is still a rookie that needed three injuries in front of him to get PT.
This is bad information. He got PT from game 1 of the preseason, through game 1 of the regular season, and on to game 2.If you haven't watched any of the games, cool. But best to not comment confidently on something you don't know too much (anything?) about.

One thing worries me - Al.

DHB was his guy. He is a contrarian with an ego. Just about everyone I read thinks the starting WR's in OAK should be Moore and Ford.

If only I was confident Al shared this opinion.

He and Martz are frustrating. Ego over common sense.

One thing we don't know is how involved Al was in the drafting of DMoe. If he was Al's pick, and he easily could have been, then you better believe we're going to see A LOT more of him.

That would be nice, but DHB was his high-profile 1st round reach. Moore has less to prove based on where he went.

Being realistic, this is the Raiders. There will be a few weeks where Moore disappears, whether its due to the playcalling, being a rookie or lack of playing time. That fact that when it was his time to shine, and showcase his skillset, he did just that. Whatever happens this season, Moore plays like the future WR1 for the Raiders (or just about any team for that matter). He's an exciting dynasty prospect, I'm glad I nabbed him in one of my leagues. Hopefully Al Davis took notice too.
