Denarius Moore - CIncinnatti Bengals (2 Viewers)

(RotoWire)Moore has slipped down the Raiders' depth chart, the Associate Press reports.

Analysis: Andre Holmes and Rod Streater are listed as the first-team wideouts, and the additions of James Jones and Greg Little in the offseason have put Moore's role in jeopardy heading into 2014. Last season, Moore hauled in 46-of-86 targets for 695 yards and five touchdowns, but a shoulder injury limited him throughout most of the second half. He could still make up ground with a strong preseason.
PLEASE get cut.

Let's see what he does tonight first. If he plays deep into the second half you know he's on thin ice. Then maybe you will get your wish.

I said this in the other thread, so at the risk of being redundant, I was hoping that Carr might resurrect his value and grabbed him off of the WW. Now that Allen appears to be completely obdurate, I'm kicking those dang rocks on the ground in disgust.

This guy is maddening. Holmes too. Every year in dynasty I've gotta make cuts and I have some promising raiders WR that I hem and haw about.

Long way to expect fantasy relevance.

The problems with Moore seem to stem from effort in practice, and maybe his overall ability to do what 'pros' do. It seems kind of vague, because it is. The coaches express concern, in coachspeak. Reading between the lines a bit.

But when they throw him the ball, you see the talent. I think the top 3 will wind up being Streater, Jones, and Moore. Distribution of balls I wouldn't try and predict. Holmes has shown why he bounced around. Looks like a stud, fights the ball a bit.

Also, it's worth noting that Moore (and Holmes for that matter) both finally looked good in the 4th preseason game - when they were playing against many players that may not even make and NFL roster. I own Moore in dynasty (have since his rookie season) - and am considering trading him for next to nothing or even cutting him outright to add a RB.

Moore looked good all preseason, and was playing against Sherman.

See these two plays against the Seattle ones:

He's a frustrating fantasy WR. He can look great one week and totally disappear or look awful the next.

before you get too frustrated with him consider the crap QB's he's had throwing to him.

I've always liked Moore's game and hope he makes it. The catch against Sherman in the second gif was a great toss and catch. The first gif is against mostly second and third teamers. The catch was on Akeem Auguste, not a player likely to be on the 53, though he could eek his way on as a second nickel corner.

Thanks for the correction on first gif. You are right. I went back and saw it was against the 2nd unit. Still, what I concentrate on is the throw by Carr. It comes out of his hand like a rocket and hits Denarius on a dime. I can't emphasize enough what quality throws will do to help Denarius's game. :)

I love situations like this: Under performing, talented WRs with a new QB coming in. This is where you pan for gold and possibly find a nugget. Will Carr have focus on one WR? Will that WR be Moore? He's a young QB, and oftentimes they'll go to where they feel comfortable most -

Our own Levi Damien took notice of the chemistry between Denarius and Derek and asked Carr about it after the game. No surprise, Carr admitted to having a nice bond forming with Moore.
"Yeah, I mess with D-Mo all the time. If he’s not in with me, I be like, ‘Bro, when you’re in, you help me look good. Can you get back in there?’" Carr quipped after his breakout performance Thursday.

"So in this one, he catches the deep ball and I was like, ‘Man, I really appreciate you being in there.’ Obviously, we’re all just joking around. But D-Mo’s a good receiver. He’s obviously fast. He ran that go-route right by that guy. He’s someone that I trust and someone that I feel good going to."

If you've got the room, Moore could be a nice little flyer. The best pick ups are the ones where no one knows what's going to happen, and you take a guess, and guess right.

I think it's interesting (well maybe only to me) that Denarius attained nearly the same production last year recieving despite playing with a hodge podge of D-list QB's.

2012 stats: 51/741/7 on 114 targets

2013 stats: 46/695/5 on 86 targets

Really impressive considering his targets dipped by 28 which is about 25% less than the year before. I also think it's noteworthy that Moore and Carr have a connection that Moore really didn't have with any QB since Palmer.

Rotoworld:

Raiders interim coach Tony Sparano stated Wednesday that Denarius Moore now has a "clean slate."

Moore was deservedly scratched in Week 4 after dropping a game-ending pass in Week 3 that Vince Wilfork intercepted. On the season, Moore has pathetically managed 60 scoreless yards on 20 targets. Until something changes, we're considering Moore the Raiders' No. 4 receiver behind Andre Holmes, James Jones, and Vincent Brown. Brice Butler also ran ahead of Moore before the bye.

Clean slate? Oh nice, now he gets the chance to disappoint all over again. In his defense, he never really had a shot of developing properly in OAK.

Denarius Moore - WR - Raiders

Denarius Moore is sidelined with ankle and knee issues he suffered falling down the stairs at the Raiders' team hotel in Week 14.

Unbelievable. Moore has simply become snakebitten, though he hasn't helped his own cause. Moore has just 12 catches through 10 games this season, and has twice been a healthy scratch. An impending free agent, Moore is highly unlikely to be back with the Raiders in 2015.

Remember when Eddie Royal had a promising rookie season and then fell off the face of the earth only to reappear in San Diego. I am hoping Denarius Moore career takes a similar path.

It's odd Moore didn't progress. He was so promising early and just seemed to be the recent Raiders symbol: no effort and no hope.

Rotoworld:

A source informed ESPN Raiders reporter Bill Williamson that there's no chance Oakland re-signs free agent WR Denarius Moore.
Moore, an Al Davis draft pick in 2011, fell out of favor in Oakland under ex-coach Dennis Allen due to consistency and work-ethic issues. He caught just 12 passes for 115 scoreless yards last season on 237 snaps. Moore is still just 26 and has blazing speed, but has had a dead-silent market to this point.

Raiders free-agent WR Denarius Moore is scheduled to meet Thursday with NY Jets, per source. Jets need a speed WR to go along with other WRs.

Decker, Marshall, Kerley, and Moore? I'll take it any day of the week.
I would assume this is the Sanjay Lal connection (WR coach of Jets who used to coach in Oak). We've already brought in Chaz Schilens from that once promising young group of WRs, and not one has panned in either Oak or elsewhere.

Rotoworld:

Bengals agreed to terms with WR Denarius Moore, formerly of the Raiders, on a one-year contract.

The deal reunites Moore with OC Hue Jackson, who was his rookie-year coach in Oakland. It was under Jackson that Moore had his best season, and looked to be a future difference maker. Moore's game steadily went downhill from 2012-14, however, with the Raiders making zero effort to keep him this offseason. Moore has the physical ability to be a playmaker down field, but has been wildly inconsistent, and prone to nicks and bruises. Reuniting with Jackson keeps him on the radar in dynasty leagues, but expectations should be low. Moore has the inside track on No. 4 duties in Cincinnati.

I like the signing for the Bengals. Could be a nice #4 and injury insurance.

Has he ever done returns? Tate loves to hold the ball like a loaf of bread. Is there a chance Moore takes on this role?

Moore returned punts for the Raiders his first year.

This guy is soft across the middle, but deadly outside. Hue Jax knows how to use him, but Dalton sux at thrownig deep so those two factors might offset.
