Denver's D may be statistically impressive but when I watch them play, they just don't look that good. I could be missing something but I just don't see how Denver stops Indy's O, no matter what the stats say.
Denver's defensive yards-per-point is pathetically low. So even if they are high in a number of traditional statistical categories, opposing offenses maximize their opportunities.D:Broncos 4459 yards, 304 points = 14.67*Many defenses of super bowl champions allow 20+ yard per point. If the Broncos allowed 20 yards per point assuming 4459 yards allowed, they would have given up 222 points. But they gave up 304, which is terrible.
It seems like both on offense and defense, for at least 3 years now, the Broncos have had great (top 7 or so) offenses and defenses based on yards but not matching that in points.Bottom line, they're a great team between the 20s on both sides of the ball. But when their offense gets in the red zone or when they turn it over deep in their territory, they start to screw up.Turnovers is the key. I'm still a big Plummer fan who wants to see him a 3rd and 4th year in this system before judging, but this game could be key for his future. 1 or fewer turnovers and Denver has a 40% shot, I'd say.

I want to let my homerism get the best of me and predict a win for Denver, but I just hope it is a close game.Indy is scary on offense and I really can see them using their TE to stretch the field underneath to open things up for the WR.It is sad that I actually believe Denver should just play nickel and dime packages to stop the long ball, let James run 4-6-8 yards a play just so the offense eats clock to shorten the game. And then hopefully Denver can do the same and match them.I just believe that if Denver can keep it in the low to mid 20's they have a chance, but if this game gets into the 30's I don't think Denver will be able to keep up.I just want a good game and not a blowout.

No surprise this is a land slide, but Im not straying form the pack on this one. Indy in a closer game than you think. They wont cover the 10.

I was listening to John Lynch yesterday on the Jim Rome Show. We all know that Indy played Denver last year in the 1st round of the playoffs and the Colts destroyed them. That was kind of a coming out game for Brandon Stokely, being nationally televised and all. Anyway, Lynch was saying this is why Denver brought in Bailey and himself, to fix up those giant holes Manning saw in the playoffs last year. He said he's ready for the challenge and doesn't look at the job as a whole lot of pressure but as fun. He feels the task is a difficult one but a job that is certainly doable. He feels if they don't make big mental mistakes and play for 60 minutes it's anybodies game.10 points is a lot, but Indies good enough to do it, it's a scarry bet.

I still maintain my Colts 41 Broncos 27 prediction, but in no way would I be placing action on this game! Vegas putting up Colts-10 is such a teasing line. But, everyone here knows the potential is for a 3 point game but more likely a Colts blowout.Just a thought, but the reason some teams rankings are low might be because the Colts blew them out, not the opposite, that the Colts ranking is high because they played low-ranking teams?!I'll be at the game wearing my Colts blue and will hopefully report on Monday that I was correct.Co Colts! :gang1: :football: :headbang: :hifive:

Maybe it's not wanting to see Indy @NE next week (or maybe it's the scotch and soda ;) ) but I think Den might win this game.

IF Plummer doesn't play with his head up his #### I think Den can and will run the ball and limit Mannings time on the field. Don't know if that will be enough but IMO Den should play extra DBs ALL day and beg Indy to run.

Den 37

Indy 34

Need Manning to come up big today in my playoff league. 25% of my salary cap is gone with Tomlinson going home for the winter !!! :hot: :horns:

Colts are not looking like they did last year when they just killed the Broncos.:cheese:

Good call so far. Pollard and (especially) Clark have been huge so far.

Come on guys I need some more details. I'm stuck here at work on a 12-hr shift and because some 8-5 weekday ******* (who's probably sitting at home watching the game) forgot to pay the cable bill I can't watch either of the games.

Bounced up in the air off an Indy receiver's hands, Denver guy caught it, thought about running it out, then knelt.

Tatum Bell should be playing. He's probably Denver's only chance at this point.
That's how I felt going in. Denver had to keep it close enough so they could use Bell extensively. He's a gamebreaker who gives them a chance. I did pick Indy to cover, but I thought the Broncos might be able to hang for awhile. It's not happening, though. As I type this, Denver just intercepted in the endzone. Maybe they'll make an entertaining game of it yet. :)

I think that pass was actually to Wayne, who was behind Pollard.

No more endzone opportunities for Pollard's useless butt. Thats two now. Get the rock to Reggie, please.

It was. The Broncos also had Lynch lined up against Harrison. I'd think that's something the Colts will want to take advantage of if they see it again.

Wow, maybe Pollard really is the one who's been choking all these years.

admit it, you don't want anything to do with the colts next week.not with earth wind & fire and troy brown playing cornerback.

Horrible reversal. He not only got two feet down with control of the ball he took 3 steps and then ducked to avoid being deheaded, fumbled the ball, and recovered. HORRIBLE CALL. The NFL wants Manning and the Colts to win the Super Bowl, its fixed. Screw the colts
