Desert Island Album Draft - 15th Anniversary Edition - 50 Rounds in the books, sign up now for KP's listening program (3 Viewers)

Never listened to Zappa before either but this Son of Mr Green Genes jam is pretty sweet.

More John Denver-,rap and country

Cornfed Dames- the Cramps  Like the Cramps and should listen more often.

Prayer- Nuhabes, okay but too mellow for my mood

WARNING: once we get past 45 rounds, I'm breaking all kinds of rules.  Compilations, soundtracks with no original songs, you name it.

I mean, if I'm being shipped to a deserted island and I can go make my picks from a record store first, are these going to be off-limits?  Is the guy going to say, "sorry sir, that album is specially made to only produce sound on actual continents.  I mean, you can take it, it's your island and all, but it's simply not going to work".

Mother - Pink Floyd - Love it, all time classic. In a strange way, even downbeat Pink Floyd songs make me feel happy.

Jealous Guy - John Lennon - Yeah, back to back pretty great songs. Even driving around today, I was getting a lot of classics. Spotify telling me somethiing?

Take a greatest hits album and you'll be on that island with two broken legs. Not fun IMO.

Rules only apply to those who submit to them.

You've already made up band names.

There is no bottom.

Loretta's Scars - Pavement - Yes this is a Pavement song. I actually really like them/their sound but I don't find a ton super distinctive/stand out ish, a couple songs aside.

Gypsy Road - Cinderella - I don't remember Motley Crue being drafted.

I few Friday night music/draft questions:

1.  What have you stumbled on through the draft that was new to you and you are most excited about exploring more?

2.  What artist/album isn't new, but you know you should be listening to it more because every time it comes up you like it?

3.  What albums you drafted do you think might be new for a lot of us and would like people to listen to the most?
:D   KP

The third one I will currently say the album from The Both, but it's in large part because I don't remember what else I've drafted.

Dinosaur Jr.  Get Me - That's a guitar solo.  Good to close on it rather than go back to the verse.

Pixies - Digging for Fire - Don't know what it is but they don't move me like before.

Stones - Memory Motel - Always liked Black and Blue.  It doesn't get enough credit as a step toward Some Girls.  Keith's voice never sounded better but it's really not a seven minute song boys.

Panda Bear - Comfy in Nautica - Never heard this before.  Still waiting for the song to get going at the halfway point.  I guess that's it.  No social distancing on the album cover

Uncle Tupelo - Graveyard Shift - Rockin tune.  Never was a fan of Farrar's voice but liked this a lot.

Velvet Underground - Candy Says - Its beauty leaves me speechless

Golden Smog - Beautiful Mind - I got these guys the other night too.  They're the supergroup and not Bill Callahan.  I think this is a different song though.

Tomorrow's Gonna Be a Brighter Day - Jim Croce- I ####### hope so....Someone get the rest of the world on board.

Oh Yeah - Can - Band I should be in to more considering they're the major influence on my favourite band of all time, but still... haven't yet heard their The Way We Get By, I Summon You or whisperilllistentohearit

42.07? Journey - Journey (Astronauts) 1975

I fookin hate Steve Perry.  This was Journey's first record and it sounds nothing like Journey. Prog at it's best.  It's a cross between Santana and Pink Floyd.  I play it all the time.  I grabbed the original vinyl a few months back.  If they just kept this lineup and this direction, I would have been a huge Journey fan. I hate Steve Perry and his song book. I don't expect many of you are familiar with this.  It's one of my prog goats.

OMFG!  Live 1980, Of a Lifetime

Kohoutek

How long is rockaction gone?
He got clipped for a month for, in his words, "hyperbole and a half." Whatever that means. Says he was trying to make a point. You know him. Regardless, he's clipped.

Those are the words that were sent to me by a friend of his who definitely isn't rockaction...

Honestly I'm starting to worry about JZilla....

I love Of A Lifetime.  I agree, pre-Perry Journey pretty good.
