Dez Bryant BROKEN FOOT (1 Viewer)

Bought low.....and feel pretty good about it.
What'd you pay?
Your mileage will vary. I dumped a couple of bad contracts with Megatron for Dez, Manning, and a couple of other guys (VJax/Coleman). I have a big giant bag of bad at QB, so any kind of return to form by Manning brings a boost. I'm deep enough to absorb a Dez hit for 8 weeks, so getting out of some crappy contracts was beyond worth it.

NO way he makes that deal if Dez is healthy. Just have to ride out 8 weeks. In the meantime I get to see if this Coleman kid is the real deal, and I can actually be a player at the auction next year without those boat anchor contracts.

I decided to go for it and sent the Dez owner Amari Cooper for him in redraft. I have no faith in the Oakland offense to be able to get the ball to Cooper consistently, so it seemed like an fairly easy move to make.

Dez owners should be offering Dez for Martavis Bryant in a trade if you don't already own him. Thank me later.
Been thinking just that. The Sammy Watkins owner offered to trade me for Daz but now I'm thinking of countering for M. Bryant

Appearing on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio, [Roddy}White said that he thinks Dallas receiver Dez Bryant won’t be back in 2015.

“Me and Julio [Jones] were talking about the whole situation,” White said. “When [Jones] heard that [bryant] broke his foot he was like, ‘He’s got the same injury I got.’ And, you know, we had to shut [Julio] down for the whole entire year. So I just don’t see him making it back this year.”

So when he comes back in 6 weeks it:

A)grows the legend of Dez Bryant

B)proves that neither Roddy White nor Julio Jones are doctors.

I'm preparing for 10-12 weeks.....if the Cowboys are leading the division I could see them being very cautious with his return. If they can be poised for a playoff run and make sure the fracture is fully healed, no non-union, re-injury, etc....that's the best case scenerio for dallas.

No, but he has access to the doctors that looked at and worked on Dez. Julio and Roddy don't.

All I'm gona say is I work in medical imaging and I may have some pretty solid insider info that's pointing to the longer recovery time.....now, obviously no one really knows how Dez will recover. But, opinions I trust point to longer than the optimistic 6 or even 8 weeks.
You may be right and by me saying "when he returns in 6 weeks" I know makes it sound like I think that will be the case but I don't. My point is Roddy and Julio don't know and that everyone is different.

I'm sure in your work experience you have seen any number of people come in for the same thing, yet they don't all heal (or fail to heal) at the same rate. People are different.

I saw twelve children receive the same procedure. One went home in five days. One died. The other 10 healed at various rates. It's just different from person to person.

I'm trying to shop him in a redraft that's not known for trading so I'm not very hopeful.....but there may be an owner who's optimistic that Dez is back in 6 weeks. Never know

This is a bold claim to make. Are you saying you have info about his specific situation or that you have informed opinions about his injury in general??? If the former, please elaborate for the sake of all that is good and right.

Please. He was spouting return dates before Dez ever saw a specialist (minutes after the injury).

ditto here plus we have really short benches (3 spots)...I'm not optimistic at all that he will be of any value in 2015, so I just consummated a trade: Bryant for Bryant

I gave up a busted foot for a busted druggie....I have stevie Johnson on my bench to by time

Ok, so let me get this straight. you're a billionaire NFL owner who just paid your biggest star a $70 M + contract.

He got hurt. Then minutes after it BECAME REPORTED that he had a broken foot, somebody asks you what you know and your thoughts.

And you think that a guy with that kind of interest/investment and access wouldn't know something about it right away?

Dez hurt himself in the 3rd quarter. I bet you anything you want to lose that by the 4TH quarter at the latest, Jerry jones had multiple people reporting to him telling him what it was looking like. Give Jones some credit that he might know a little bit more about the situation than you or I do the minute after Schefter or someone tweets it.

What does Jerry Jones know about Jones fractures? More importantly, how does he know the recovery time when even the surgeon doesn't know that until the post-op diagnosis and prognosis is made.

You want to say he has more information than Roddy and Julio? I'm with you. But he doesn't know any more about when he will be back than anyone else. Even the freaking surgeon doesn't know yet, and he did the freaking surgery!

And I can guarandamntee I know more about Jones fractures and rehabbing them than Jerry Jones does, since I do this for a living.

Can't say more......and who knows, his recovery may go perfectly, and he's back sooner than later....no matter what anyone knows, the healing process is an unknown
What does your source think about 11 weeks?

I've been thinking on this, as they say, and it's been bugging me... didn't Julio go out after the season had started for a bit?

If it was the 4th or 8th game that Julio was hurt, being out for the season on a losing team (IIRC the falcs were pretty bad that year...) then getting shut down makes more sense, especially if it's really not getting shut down because it's later in the year or it's a lost cause.

This injury might be longer into the season than people want but it may not be all the way through the end of the season.

Week 5

All I know is week one is the best time to have a break if you're going to have one. He has a legit chance to come back in the second half. This "he's done" talk is pure speculative BS just like 4-6 weeks was,

Does Roddy know that Julio had pre-existing screws in his foot that increased his return time due to the increased complexity of the operation?

I would rather listen to random interneters than ROddy freaking White. Any day. Even EM

So what are the facts? Do we have any yet?

If the facts are:

- Broken bone in foot

- some sort of screw being inserted

That is MINIMUM 8 weeks before vigorous physical activity. Which leads me to believe there is zero chance he is back before week 10 at the absolute earliest....if at all this year (regarding fantasy regular season and maybe playoffs)

i'm desperate. any chance he does anything against revis?
I will just say that the Revis I've seen play this year is a definite level or even 2 below that of vintage Revis Island. He's still good but I've seen a number of WRs creating a lot of separation against him. Hasnt always played out on the stat sheet though.

If you're desperate you could certainly do worse than Dez in prime time but he'll be on my bench in favor of Lockett and Amendola, regardless of whether or not Edelman plays.

Bad QB, bad offense, and Dez has just not been the same himself. He's never been a high volume guy anyway so the lack of efficiency on the targets he does get along with the reduced scoring opportunities from a very limited offense make for a pretty unattractive FF situation.

With Cassell as QB I doubt it. Cassell doesn't have the balls or accuracy to chuck the ball up and let Dez go get it, but I'm still starting Dez. I can't pull him out of my lineup, I'm sure I'll be cussing myself Saturday night.

Dez is not himself. Watched him since college and I am not seeing the same legs. He looks like an ordinary WR and he is so far from ordinary. There's no obvious difference between he, Terrance, and Beasley on Sundays and I'd have never said or thought that previously.

So I think of it as Revis(who has lost a step) can cover Terrance fine.

He is a top notch workout guy so I totally expect next year he is in top shape and looking like his old self. I will be enjoying it if his ADP is much later than normal.

On top of Dez stuff, Cassel should have been cut and onto a new team now like Claussen and other journeymen. He doesn't throw to Dez covered, doesn't seem to know what a timing pass is, and is a QB with almost no nerve.

I don't think people are seeing things. The foot has definitely been holding him back. He is a guy I don't care for on a personal level but cannot deny that he is one of the best in the league, especially after the catch and in the red zone.

I always rank him a bit lower because he does seem to get nicked up, leave the game for an iv or some other issue, and he has a QB who seems to always miss time, himself.
