I love Scandrick but the guy needs to take it easy on the WRs in practice. Very similar thing happened last year between him and Roy Williams twice.Dez was running a post the CB broke on the play and Dez's right ankle got caught under the CB when he fell on it.

KarmaHe twisted his ankle trying to avoid Roy Williams pads i heard.
What I am saying is that he knock the mess out of you. Which is fine but I prefer he didn't do it to our starting WRs. The reports say that it was a clean play so I might be jumping on him a little too soon.so.. what you're saying is, the guy has a chronic tendency to fail?I love Scandrick but the guy needs to take it easy on the WRs in practice. Dez told Corby (The Ticket) that he just rolled it.However, Scandrick mentioned that he felt Bryant was having trouble with the ankle before this incident. So, we'll see.He was back out later signing autographs and The Ticket got him on the air to say he was fine.

SAN ANTONIO -- Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a right high ankle sprain near the end of Friday's practice, and the team said he will be out 4-6 weeks.
That means Bryant could miss the entire preseason.
The Cowboys' top three picks are injured. Second-round linebacker Sean Lee has been sidelined since Tuesday with a strained quadriceps. Fourth-round safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, who had shoulder surgery in March, has not been cleared to practice yet.

The injury occurred after cornerback Orlando Scandrick broke up a pass intended for Bryant on the second-to-last play of practice. Backup quarterback Jon Kitna threw the ball slightly behind Bryant on a crossing route, and Scandrick made a good play on the ball and landed on Bryant's leg.
Bryant, who the Cowboys selected with the 24th overall pick after trading up three spots in the draft, stayed down on the Alamodome turf for several seconds. He tried to limp off the field, then went back down before being helped off the field by athletic trainers Jim Maurer and Britt Brown.
"I hope he just sprained his ankle," Scandrick said. "He should be all right."
Time in camp is like dog years for a rookie WR. Took Nicks until late in the season to break the starting lineup after getting hurt in camp.May be a 4-6 week injury according to Mort
Nevermind. I just saw the play. He got beat by Dez and tried to make the play late and fell on his legs trying to block the ball. He should have known better.Tyrion said:What I am saying is that he knock the mess out of you. Which is fine but I prefer he didn't do it to our starting WRs. Ugh...Annnnd there goes some of his value. Roy Williams looks to be a major steal in many drafts right now...

I had pretty much made up my mind to take him with the 1st overall in my RB heavy dynasty league. I am not super solid at RB but I feel like Dez is where it is at. I just want him on my team. I have the 1.06 pick too, maybe he will fall there to me.
The only way he falls to 1.06 is if they have to amputate his leg and even then it's not a guarantee.I had pretty much made up my mind to take him with the 1st overall in my RB heavy dynasty league. The words "Roy Williams" and "steal" only make sense if "paycheck" is included in the sentence.Annnnd there goes some of his value. Roy Williams looks to be a major steal in many drafts right now...

High ankle sprain, out 4-6 weeks.Any MRI news? Nothing else matters until we know this information.
so you're saying he was injured because he's immature... very interesting POV.Seems like it's always something with this guy.1. Suspended in college for the year2. Was said to be late for meetings/games in college3. Shows up out of shape for his pro day, forgets shoes, somehow with a year off he was injured for the combine4. In the news whining about the Dolphins GM5. Not carrying pads and then gets all bent out of shape with the media blaming them for his alleged ignorance 6. Injured and now misses all of training campNothing big like a Brandon Marshall obviously but this does look to be a pretty immature fella, immature for his age (probably just like Axl from the TV show the Middle)
There's dumb. And then there is that POV. So if he was more mature he wouldn't have fallen? Or more mature players have tougher ankles? If you can't distinguish that my saying he is immature was a separate point from him being injured then I suggest just trying to open your mind a bit and figuring it out on your own that those were separate issues, but maybe you were trying to point out how dumb I am, I do feel dumb having to clarify it for you.JamesT said:There's dumb. from what i understand, you're here to point out supposed "character concerns" in an injury discussion thread... i think those concerns have been hammered out pretty well already in the multiple other threads. regardless, i think the confusion came about when you made one single list. you may want to include separate lists if you're trying to make separate points. that should prevent future confusion. So the season ends in 6 weeks ?So much for his impact this year.![]()

WR is one of the most difficult transition for rookies as is. Now Bryant will be missing what is probably the most critical 4 weeks of preparation for any rookie. On top of that Dal is loaded at the skill positions with other options. Plus, there is a reason people call it the "dreaded high ankle sprain." Those things don't go away until you give it lots of rest, which I doubt he will really get.So the season ends in 6 weeks ?So much for his impact this year.![]()
I think Crabtree is a bigger talent and already in the process of proving it. Calvin/Fitz/Andre/Moss/Roddy/Austin/etc; are very talented.I also think Peter Warrick, Charles Rodgers, Koren Robinson, Braylon Edwards, etc; were far greater talents and none of them lived up to their rare talent.Hopefully the Cowboys can give him enough time to heal due to their depth and then the ankle lingering isn't so much of an issue. IMHO Dez Bryant is a rare talent, very rare. I think his season ending numbers will suffer because of a slow start but I would be surprised if he isn't a difference maker in the second half of this season. He's simply that good and I think it will show eventually this year.
Crabtree could be a bigger talent than Bryant, but I wouldn't go as far as saying he's done anything to prove it. He doesn't even have 1000 yards and 10 TD's in the NFL yet. Everything you say about Dez is true, we don't know if he'll do anything in the pros, we'll have to wait and see. I think this injury will definately slow down any fast start Bryant may have had in his rookie season. It's good for the Cowboys that they do have Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton to pick up any needed slack. I'd look for Bryant to emerge and start making an impact 1/4 to 1/2 way into the season. With the talent on the Cowboys and him being a rookie, I don't think his fantasy numbers will be consistent even when he starts making an impact on offense. It's a long season and the Cowboys are All In this year with the SB in Big D, they won't rush this guy back with all the talent they have on offense.I think Crabtree is a bigger talent and already in the process of proving it. I think people are getting way ahead of themselves just assuming this guy is the next great thing, he very well might be, I just don't think he's one of the best 5 talents in the past 5 draft classes, I guess I am saying I don't see him as having "rare" talent. The one thing he has going for him is that he is already signed. He had like 3 fantastic catches in college with the one over his head, facing forward while running with arms stretched out being what I see as his ticket to fame. Mike Wallace has a better pro football highlight reel than Dez's college reel IMO.
