I'm in love, what's that song? Was surprised myself - had to triple check the spreadsheet. There is simply no reason why I hadn't drafted this already. I'm almost ashamed of myself
I have felt that way about 1 or 2. With 1000s of songs available it is easy to have one or two slip by your notice. I am pretty sure that I am going to mulligan my 1977 pick if the song I want is still there. Also, after this draft I am strongly considering spending some hours correcting the dates of the songs in my iTunes list. I find it exceedingly annoying when a compilation album lists the song's release date as the year the compilation was released rather than the year the song was released - that and the dates are often a year off. There is simply no reason why I hadn't drafted this already. that's what she saidI was just checking out some 'box about an hour ago
I believe it's 2 picks in the AM and 2 in the PM.are we at 2 picks in the AM and 2 in the PM or just two for the day? I'll get my 12th rounders up shortly
Liked these guys when they first hit the scene - good debut album. Always thought they should have been bigger. IIRC, their debut album was the first one by Madonna's label.12.05 Candlebox, "Far Behind" (1993)
In a musical year that was fairly low-yield in terms of my personal taste, I went for a semi one-hit wonder with that tastiest of musical hooks: an immediately recognizable opening guitar riff that you can sing along to (if you have a little bit of vocal range). This "post-grunge" offering also features an outstanding drum part and blends very admirably what a lot of the songs of this period attempted: a softer, melodic portion (usually the verse) with a harder-rocking chorus. Could have benefited from some backing vocals, but those weren't generally on offer during this period. Holds up very well for an example of a now-dormant genre.
I'm out of likes. MGMT is Wesleyan. My friends live there and they're cool. I love 'em. They (MGMT) spent all Halloween doing an underground basement party centered around a remix of the Monster Mash by Pickett. For twelve hours. Rave on. Noice.12.10 Modest Mouse - The View (2004)
Gotta get some Modest Mouse in the juke. I like other songs from other years better but it just didn't work out. This is my favorite from Good News... I still haven't listened to the 2015 album but I have not heard good things
12.10 MGMT - Time to Pretend (2008)
Not sure what you mean. Getting no results.rockaction said:The Dancing French Liberals of '48 - Spags - 1994 single version (no link other than Powerline 1995 album version on Spotify, Zilla)
Oh, okay. I think Powerline is a 1995 album that should be on Spotify for the big mix. It should be The Spaghetti Song, but it was called simply "Spags" in '94. Dancing French Liberals of '48. The Spaghetti Song. It should be there, if not, I'll redraft. Not sure what you mean. Nice call! Not the label's overall first record, which was _Erotica_ I believe, but definitely its first big commercial success, going 4x platinum. _Jagged Little Pill_ swiftly blew that away.Liked these guys when they first hit the scene - good debut album. Making fun of my bande, Frenchy?Round 13 picks after 4PM EST si vous plait

Pretty sure this ship has sailedAfter much deliberation and soul-searching, I would like to formally change my stance on the number picks each day. Even though I don't contribute much to the thread beyond my picks, I really enjoy all the discussion and listening to songs I haven't been exposed to before.
Mr Commissioner, please note my flip-flop - I like the slower pace of 2 picks a day.
Thank you for your time.
I vote for this if its too late to cut it back todayYup, four a day is just too rushed, particularly with a three-day weekend coming up. I'd really like to us scale back to two for Friday through Monday and then see where we are.
Today doesn't seem rushed to me at all. I think there is more conversation when picks are made. Of course that is just my opinion. JML asked yesterday about if people who want four picks a day just want to make their picks or are they also adding commentary and listening to the songs, and I think that is a strange question coming from someone that lives on autoskip, and isn't here that much. I also notice that some that have fallen behind have been around over the last few days and have been posting in other threads, but just not posting in here. That's their choice.Yup, four a day is just too rushed, particularly with a three-day weekend coming up. I'd really like to us scale back to two for Friday through Monday and then see where we are.
Penalty should be to have Tim pick for them.We already have some people who will be 3-4 rounds behind by the end of the day
Mormon was hilarious - enjoy.I will be going to see Book Of Mormon tonight so hopefully no one screws the sheet up too much
Okay, cool. This is just one of those situations where someone proposes Idea A, I counter with some reasons why Idea A doesn't seem the best, and the reactions against my contribution are more rebuttals to my CounterIdea B than defenses of Idea A - - I haven't really heard one yet. No one is in a rush to finish and nothing is on fire, so I'd prefer to enjoy the draft and let people catch up.Today doesn't seem rushed to me at all. Agreed - great show.Mormon was hilarious - enjoy.I will be going to see Book Of Mormon tonight so hopefully no one screws the sheet up too much
That would be great. How about this?
We keep the two rounds/day (four picks) for Thursday and Friday.
Go back one round/day (two picks) for Sat, Sun & Mon.
Resume two rounds/day on Tuesday.
That is NOT a penalty!!Penalty should be to have Tim pick for them.We already have some people who will be 3-4 rounds behind by the end of the day
So far my selections have made more money than all the rest of yours combined.Every post debating pace issues is a post we could be making fun of Tim.

Obviously i totally disagree, although i will admit they are a different on subsequent albums. You know, I really want to like them, and Melody A.M. is a fantastic album, but I have just never been able to get into any of the rest of their music other than that album. That album just strikes me as so much better than the rest, from what I've heard.Did you discover them from that Geico commercial too?
