That's awfully low for Don't Drink the Water :P (it's top 5-ish for me), but tastes and all that, right?
I don’t know how many songs are on Before These Crowded Streets, but if there’s 10, there’s my top 10. Would be an easy countdown for me.
Haha, I hear that! I can't go that far, as both Crash and Under the Table and Dreaming have songs that would easily be top 10 for me. Before These... is easily my favorite record for sure, however.

Right! I don't know where I'd pit Don't Drink The Water on Before These Crowded Streets, but no higher than 3rd.

It is my 5th highest selection from that album. I just rechecked, and it is ranked properly for me. :-)

Highly underappreciated song. Especially love this live version with the scatting intro. "Yeah yeah yeah yeah" then boom. Sometimes Carter gets into the scatting as well. This live version just cracks my top 20. Also has the "lovely ladies" contributing in the outro.

No CA shows this summer tour is just ridiculous
Yeah, that's criminal. That ever happen before? One of the things I love about living in NJ is that there's so much live music within driving distance. Back in the day, I used to catch a dozen+ dmb shows every summer all within a 6 hour driving distance. And that's when they also had a winter tour.

I'm in the SF Bay Area, so a show at Shoreline, or the Greek in Berkeley would be so money. Maybe they were in talks for a local music festival (Bottlerock or Outsidelands), and plans for that fell through; so due to timing/radius restrictions, maybe they weren't able to book anything else...

I respect the time you’re putting in to do this, and to each their own. But there sure are some interesting choices here.

Well, one reason I started posting the countdown in this thread is to stimulate discussion about my choices. Obviously, this is my own ranking on a particular day when I finalized my list. If I made the list on a different day, it would probably be in a different order.

If I made it today, I would elevate Bartender and Grey Street and drop When the World Ends and Some Devil, and probably some other minor movements.

@Tau837 - thanks for the countdown. Fun to read even if I don't have the energy or desire to offer my agreements/disagreements.

Just went to both nights at Fiddler's Green. The weather was great. That damn slope to the venue is not - make it really tough to stand without significant foot fatigue. This was only my 11th/12th show and I typically still like to see more bangers as opposed to all the deep cuts. So, in many ways, this past weekend's sets weren't a bullseye for me.

That said, on night 2 I really was in a good headspace to step back from WHAT was being played and I really got into HOW it was being played. Viewing night 2 more like a jazz show and paying attention to all the intricacies and creativity and playfulness made me appreciate the band even more. Quite a few of the songs on Saturday were SOOOOO much better than they had any right to be because the band was firing on all cylinders. Just a really enjoyable two nights in Denver.

So this was supposed to be my first Gorge trip, sadly my son had to have foot surgery 4 weeks ago. He's still non-weight bearing so we had to cancel the trip. I should get most of my money back but not sure about all of it, sold N1 and N2 pits, still trying to sell my reserved for N3. Serious Davepression going to hit on Friday.

The positive is, we have a hotel booked for MSG in Nov for the rumored dates :)

Sorry to hear about the change in plans but that's great news about the garden shows. I've really got back into them this summer and am excited to see some more shows.

It sounds like the fall tour will be east coast only, again. The announcement might be today or right after Labordave weekend.

:bag: Guess I am way into the DMB culture, this is what all my Dave friends have called it since it became an annual thing back the early 2000s

since they're usually playing at the gorge at that time, seems appropriate

So what's still left thats top 10 worthy? Ants, Nancies, Jimi Thing, Granny, Say Goodbye, Best of What's Around, maybe Grace is Gone
If I made a list, my top 10 would include all of those with the exception of Ants Marching. I might also include Crush and maybe Dreaming Tree and Typical
Situation. We have not seen quite a few of the other radio hits (Space Between, Where Are You Going, What Would You Say). I probably would not include most of those but I wouldn't fault anyone if they did.

You named 3 of my remaining 7 songs here. Maybe you guys aren't going to like the top of my list too much...
Little hint there? So maybe that and So Much to Say might be in that 7 of yours? So 4 of the 7 I mentioned didn't even make the top 41. Ok. Its cool. This is your list. We're still friends.

Only Best of What's Around is in my top ten I listed above but most would be in the top 20. Nancies wouldn't make the 20 and Ants while a very fun song was just so played so often that it kind of wore on me. There's just so many good songs to choose from.
