Also pick yourself up a Toshiba HD DVD player. Models like the A3 and the A30 are a steal for around 100-150 bucks. At Xmas time they were going for $199 and $299 respectively.

You do realize why Toshiba's dropped the price in the last few weeks? Blu-ray has been pretty much kicking it's head in since Warner Bros switched to Blu-ray.Edit - That's not to say I think Blu-ray is the better format. I would have much rather HD DVD won this war, but I'd have a hard time recommending one to a friend if it's going to become obsolete in 18-24 months.
