Does this annoy anybody else, this guy sits home almost every sunday and whenever a player goes down or has to step out of a game, its on our chat room with in minutes... of course he adds his own little spin as if he works for roto.

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy's passion but its a little much... I asked him to stop but he hasn't.

I disagree with this practice. Part of any good league is assessing what injuries occur to which players each week and exploiting that information to improve your team. This guy is making it much easier for lazy managers to make adjustments with minimum effort on their part. If this guy wants to be helpful, he should let teams manage themselves without his "help." I'm sure he doesn't have bad intentions, but if you're playing in a money league, this kind of "babysitting" is completely unwelcome to those scouring all the news and up-to-date info each week. If a person is lazy, then they should rightfully miss out. Good luck!

the elite owners in my league who have stacked rosters or little roster/cap wiggle room will announce injuries to alert other owners and try to weaken or not allow their main competition to get any stronger.

If the only way you can improve your team is by pulling a fast one on some owner before they read up on injury news then you're a pretty lousy owner.

Certainly hope you are joking, but if not...there is a box on MFL sites that you can post a short message in. It then is displayed along with the previous 10-15 messages for the entire league to see. It is a quick and easy way to communicate for trade offers, gloating or boasting, or simply breaking balls/shooting the crap.But again, I certainly hope you were joking, although I really don't get the joke?

Both ESPN Chicago and the Chicago Sun Times report that Jay Cutler's fractured right (throwing) thumb may end his season.The Chicago Tribune reports that Cutler's initial timetable for return is 6-8 weeks. Per the Sun Times' Sean Jensen, "there is a fear" that Cutler may not play again this year, but "there will be more tests." ESPN Chicago's Mike Wright also reports that Cutler will require surgery, so this is clearly a more significant thumb break than Ben Roethlisberger's.

Caleb Hanie would take over as the Bears' starter, much to Mike Martz's chagrin. We can wait for more confirmation this week, but all signs point to Cutler's regular season being over. Chicago's chances at a playoff run are going to take a big hit.

Maybe its because I play in mostly deep-roster dynasty leagues where this kind of stuff doesn't effect strategy (everyone worth owning is literally already owned), but our league chat is constantly going with NFL talk. Injuries, ongoing games, player performance, ref's calls, coaching decisions, etc. I love that about my leagues, especially one that I'm in that VERY active with this kind of stuff. Only around the NFL draft/dynasty rookie draft does the talk die down about players, etc.I don't just play in these in-depth fantasy leagues to quietly sneak my way to a title. I like the social interaction with other guys who are just as into the NFL and fantasy (and in this case dynasty) as I am. That's the draw. In fact, if I thought that there was a decent chance I'd read or heard something about a player or an injury that my league mates HADN'T, I wouldn't want to be in a league with those guys. Where's the challenge and the fun? In this age of 24/7 media including blogs, twitter, etc., if you're THIS uptight about someone freely talking injuries, then you're relying on something archaic for an advantage: the rare and elusive information advantage. Play in leagues where you have to operate under the assumption that you're all fairly equally informed, and work from there trying to win. You'll have more fun, and you'd probably respect your competition more.

A few years ago, I was doing some yardwork and DVR'd a couple of games. I get a call from a buddy telling me how D'Angelo Williams just went down with an injury...like 2 minutes into the early games.

Every time my cell rings on Sundays between 1-7...I shut it off.

Not sure if you're trying to prove a point here, but a team called the "Hartford Beavers" owns him. Before that, the "Washington Federals". I'm assuming you thought he was a player that wouldn't have been worth owning before Cutler's injury? You're wrong, in this case. We have 36-player rosters +2 IR spots, all offense, 12 teams. All players like this are owned.
