Donald Driver just got carted off the field (1 Viewer)

Watching the video a few times in slow motion....it looks like #26 of the Jags grabs Driver and slides down his right leg landing on Driver's right foot.

Didn't look like the foot planted firmly. It looks like the ankle joint (on his right in-step) got cranked a bit. I'd be surprised if it were more serious than just a sprain. I definitely didn't like Driver's reaction to it though.

join the club. my heart skipped a beat when i saw him grab for the ankle right away. woosh. i hope the early reporting is accurate and it's something that will heal with 2 weeks rest.

I assume the additional tests are being run today so we can expect some definitive word later today hopefully?

Anyone know if the MRI was done yet?

How long before these results get in? Should it be today?
Right after your draft.
looks that way. "Driver's injury was being categorized as a foot sprain by the medical staff after Thursday's game, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Spin: Head coach Mike McCarthy said after the game that they didn't think Driver suffered a Lisfranc injury, an injury that could keep Driver out for most if not all of the year. More tests will be done on Monday to determine the exact severity of the injury."

Monday??Wouldn't you want to diagnose now, because WHO KNOWS what actually happened there.... if he needs surgery, you can schedule first thing on Monday.... why lose Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon (a la almost half a week or so)...

Sometimes they have to wait until the swelling goes down to get a better reading.

on the other hand........if he's nominated early in an auction draft this week, you might get him at a "discount"......risky but do you feel lucky....

I think they are 99% sure it doesn't need surgery. Everything so far points to a sprain and the only question is how bad which = how much rest he'll need before he can play again. Since he won't be doing anything between now and Monday anyway, no need to hurry up and run any tests.

Even if it's a mild sprain, I really can't see him playing week 1. I gotta think that he'll be on crutches for at least a week. Foot sprains are no joke.

I had a mild sprain in HS football and was back on the field in about one week...now I was 17 and my body would recover faster than Driver's would but at the same time I couldn't put any pressure on it for the first day whereas Driver was on it at halftime. It's premature to start guessing about which week he'll be back.Putting all the pieces together, I don't think he'll miss any regular season time.

but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night

i really wish somebody would clue in and develop a mic that would work when the media is asking questions, can never hear the questions

sounds like Driver is going to be ok , feeling better today in terms of pain, they feel they dodged something, and the additional tests are precautionary

JSOnline.com is reporting that Driver is expected to play in the opener against Philly. McCarthy was told by the trainer "We dodged a bullet."

More tests ordered for Driver. The doctor is likely concerned with hidden tears or bone cracks and doing more damage if he plays to early. Thompson is hopeful he will be okay but said nothing about when he would play again.

Driver - More Tests ordered

Owned alright.Since when did NFL players all of a sudden not have the same physiology and anatomy as the rest of us? If anything NFL players would heal faster than the rest of us due to the training resources that are available to them.

You left out the part about their strenuous job. I don't think the average person having the same injury is a valid comparison.

Fair enough. So I guess that cancels it out then. :lmao:

With the blitzes that Pitt brings, the slot receiver is gonna be huge in the big game...

Having a healthy DD would be huge....is he a go?
