Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline relays that FSU junior WR Auden Tate is "close" to declaring for the NFL Draft.

Tate (6'5/218) has been hindered by foot and shoulder injuries this season, but when he's managed to play, owns a 33-441-7 receiving line on the year. Walter Football's Charlie Campbell loves the junior's skill-set, noting that the wideout is "very dangerous to win jump balls downfield and is a real red-zone weapon." He sees Tate being selected on Day 1 or early on Day 2 come the spring's draft, assuming he declares.

Miami junior RB Mark Walton, who will declare for the NFL Draft, is expected to be healthy in time to participate in the NFL Combine.

Walton went down in early October with a right ankle injury that required surgery. Walton has a chance to land in the top 100 if he has a clean process and his medicals check out.

Maryland junior WR D.J. Moore is considering declaring for the 2018 NFL Draft.

Despite all of the quarterback issues, Moore finished the season with 80 catches for 1,033 yards and eight touchdowns. Moore says he "feels ready" for the NFL, but will take some time to make his decision.

Virginia redshirt senior QB Kurt Benkert accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

Benkert (6'4/230) finished up the regular season throwing for 3,062 yards (59.6% completions) with a 25/8 TD/INT ratio. He's drawn a decent amount of draft buzz throughout the campaign, with three-of-five NFL execs polled by NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah deeming him to be the most underrated quarterback in the class back in October. Benkert possesses NFL tools and it would not be a surprise to see him selected near the tail-end of Day 2. If not then, early on Day 3.

Colorado State senior WR Michael Gallup has the highest grade of any draft-eligible wide receiver according to Pro Football Focus.

Gallup (6'1/203) has a grade of 92, higher than any other wideout who can be drafted this year. He's caused 20 missed tackles -- fourth best of any receiver in the country -- and his 3.47 yards-per-route is eighth best in efficiency. Gallup's speed and level of competition is going to be scrutinized, but it's tough to argue with his production, and teams who value the analytical side are going to fall in love with the Colorado State senior.

Wyoming redshirt junior QB Josh Allen ranks at the top of CBS Sports analyst Brady Quinn's draft-eligible quarterback list.

Quinn, himself a former first-round draft pick out of Notre Dame, believes that Allen has a skillset that is very similar to former North Dakota State and current Philadelphia Eagle star Carson Wentz. Ranking behind Allen are UCLA's Josh Rosen, USC's Sam Darnold, Washington State's Luke Falk and Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph. If a team picking high sees the same Wentz's comparisons, he could be one of -- if not the -- first quarterbacks taken.

Trying to decide...if Brady Quinn thinks somebody is a good QB, is that a mark in their favor or a bad sign?

A lot of ridiculous numbers for #Stanford RB Bryce Love in 2017. The chunk yards especially stand out: 20-yd rushes: 28 30-yd rushes: 23 40-yd rushes: 14 50-yd rushes: 12 (FBS record)

Stanford redshirt junior RB Bryce Love (ankle) rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in Friday's 31-28 Pac-12 Championship Game loss to USC.

What a performance. Multiple times during the game, Love hobbled off the field due to his continued nagging high-ankle sprain, only to come right back out for another four or five yard run. This pattern played out repeatedly in what was one of the more physically impressive games by a limited player that we've seen this season. He's now up to 1,969 yards and 17 touchdowns through 12 games played (he missed a contest against Oregon State due to the ankle). Love is one of a handful of players in the country realistically in contention for the Heisman Trophy.

USC redshirt sophomore QB Sam Darnold completed 17-of-24 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's 31-28 Pac-12 Championship Game win over Stanford.

This was as good as Darnold's looked all season. He showed off his NFL tools in spades, zipping passes into narrow windows and hitting on multiple downfield chunk tosses. None were bigger than the throw he made out of his own end zone midway through the fourth quarter after USC made a fourth-down goal-line stand to get the ball back. On the play, Darnold was working in a tight pocket and stepped up -- into contact -- to rifle a 54-yard completion to Michael Pittman, who was running wide-open down the middle of the field. The team would eventually cap off the drive with a Ronald Jones touchdown run. While the Trojans remain unlikely to make the Playoff even with their newly minted Pac-12 title, Friday's game was a splendid reminder of what makes Darnold so enticing as an NFL prospect.

Western Kentucky redshirt senior QB Mike White has earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

White previously was headed to the East-West Shrine Game, so this is an upgrade. White played with Taywan Taylor and put up ridiculous production in 2016, and he continued to carry the offense in 2017 with 24 touchdowns compared to just 7 interceptions despite taking 38 sacks.

Memphis redshirt senior WR Anthony Miller had 14 receptions for 195 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 62-55 double-overtime loss to UCF in the AAC Championship Game.

Miller made several key catches over the duration of this wild affair. Miller's first touchdown, with about four minutes left in the second quarter, gave Memphis its first lead when he created separation on a slant and then put on the afterburners down the sideline for a 68-yard touchdown. Later, with only 4:13 remaining in the game, Miller hauled in a leaping 10-yard touchdown receptionthat tied the game 48-48. Then, Miller took advantage of broken coverage by catching a 15-yard touchdown in the first overtime (UCF quickly answered with its own score). Miller (5'11/190) faces size concerns from the NFL, but he could be a highly-flammable slot receiver at the next level. He comes with quick feet, deep speed and sticky hands.

Oklahoma redshirt junior TE Mark Andrews caught seven passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 41-17 win over TCU in the Big 12 Championship Game.

Andrews (6'5/245) led the Sooners in both receptions and touchdown catches as they came away with the conference title. The redshirt junior made his first scoring grab from five yards out in the first quarter and later reeled in a six-yard touchdown in the closing minutes before halftime. Andrews has put in career-best numbers across the board this season, registering a 58-904-8 receiving line over the course of 13 games played. He'll have a chance to add to that when he and the rest of the Sooners sing "Auld Lang Syne" to ring in the New Year as a Playoff combatant.

Oklahoma redshirt senior QB Baker Mayfield completed 15-of-23 passes for 243 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday's 41-17 win over TCU in the Big 12 Championship Game.

While Mayfield has posted sharper games in terms of yardage and completion percentage to his Heisman resume this season, this was a fantastic showing against a tough defense. He hit on touchdown passes in each of the first two quarters, then landed two more in the third quarter to help the Sooners pull away. Named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year earlier this week, Mayfield has thrown for 4,340 yards with a 41/5 TD/INT ratio through 13 games. Oklahoma is now a lock for the Playoff and Mayfield may well be closing in on the Heisman Trophy. It's been an all-around fantastic season to date in Norman.

Sam Houston State senior QB Jeremiah Briscoe threw for 504 yards and four touchdowns on 28-of-43 passing in a 54-42 victory over South Dakota on Saturday in the FCS playoffs.

Briscoe (6'3/225) has been one of the most dominant players at the FCS level this year, and is beginning to draw buzz as a potential NFL draft pick. The former UAB quarterback has now thrown for 41 touchdowns, which pales in comparison to the 57 he threw last year, but still, pretty good. He's going to have to pass some tests because of the system the Bearkats play in, but if he does, he could be an under-the-radar prospect to keep an eye on.

South Dakota State senior TE Dallas Goedert caught six passes for 83 yards with a touchdown in a 37-22 victory over Northern Iowa on Saturday in the FCS playoffs.

Goedert (6'4/260) scored on a 28-yard pass near the end of the second quarter, running by a safety and showing the ability to get his feet down to make it 26-7 Jackrabbits. Goedert is routinely mentioned as one of -- if not the -- best tight end prospects in the class, and he showed why again against the Panthers. Assuming good health and a positive showing at the Senior Bowl/combine, he's a going to go in the first 40 picks.

Wisconsin senior TE Troy Fumagalli hauled in five passes for 45 yards in a 27-21 loss to Ohio State on Saturday in the Big Ten Championship game.

Fumagalli was basically the only receiving option in this one, as the beat-up Wisconsin wideouts were unable to secure any separation from the talented Ohio State cornerbacks. It was a disappointing final few weeks for the talented senior tight end, but many analysts still have him as one of the best at the position for this year's draft. He has one more game to add to his tape to try and secure first-round consideration.

New Mexico State redshirt senior WR Jaleel Scott hauled in nine passes for 134 yards in a 22-17 victory over South Alabama on Saturday.

Scott didn't find the end zone, but he set up every score for the Jaguars with big catches, including the game-winner with just over 30 seconds left. Scott (6'6/215) is considered one of the best senior wideouts in the country by many analysts, and his strong effort in this one will serve him well in his quest to being one of the highest drafted wide receivers in 2018. He'll get one more chance to add to his tape before the Senior Bowl, as the Aggies are going bowling.

Auburn redshirt sophomore QB Jarrett Stidham completed 16-of-32 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 28-7 loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

Well it started out well enough for Stidham, anyway, as he connected with Nate Craig-Myers on a six-yard touchdown toss with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter to give the Tigers an early 7-0 lead. That would be it in terms of Auburn's scoring for the game. The team finished with just 259 yards of total offense, understandable given just how limited lynch-pin performer Kerryon Johnson (shoulder) was in the contest. Still, the season should be counted as a success even despite the final result in the conference title game. The Tigers nearly made it to the Playoff as a two-loss team thanks to spectacular wins over Georgia and Alabama in November.

Dec 2 - 7:55 PM

Clemson junior WR Deon Cain ended up with three receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's ACC Championship Game win against Miami.

Cain managed to find the end zone just once across his first five games, but he picked up the pace with five touchdowns in the past eight outings. The junior managed just one game over the century mark this season, and that came against The Citadel of the FCS, so his season was a bit of a disappointment. He'll look to make an impact in the team's next game, likely to be a national semifinal playoff game.

Andy Dufresne said:
What about football ability? Are Mayfield's stats just Big 12 inflated?
I don't think so. He's got a good test of his abilities coming soon. He's got 4 years of college experience under his belt. Obviously he has to be dedicated to being an NFL QB like Wentz and Goff.

San Diego State senior RB Rashaad Penny will attend the Reese's Senior Bowl after accepting an invitation.

Penny was able to reach a thousand yards despite being a backup to Donnel Pumphrey, and he was the nations leading rusher this year with 2,027 yards. He also has returned seven kicks for touchdowns, showing that he can be a contributor on special teams as well. He appears to be a volatile NFL prospect right now, but if he shows out in the Senior Bowl against the best of the best, it will be a major boon for Penny's draft stock. Don't be surprised if he does just that.

ESPN's Mel Kiper ranks Maryland junior WR D.J. Moore as the No. 2 draft-eligible receiver.

This is easily the highest we've seen Moore ranked thus far. Kiper slots the 5-foot-11, 215-pounder above prospects with more hype like Courtland Sutton, Christian Kirk, Anthony Miller and James Washington. Moore had 80 catches for 1,033 yards and eight touchdowns this season. He recently said he's contemplating declaring for the draft.

Oklahoma State senior WR Marcell Ateman accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

Ateman is going to be an interesting evaluation case for NFL teams. He’s big (6’4/215) and fast and has shown the ability to get downfield and make contested catches. He's also productive, with a 54-1049-8receiving line in 2017 with one game to go. That work earned him second-team All-Big 12 honors. But he's also coming out of a wide-open, pass-happy offense that had several other skilled receivers, including James Washington, meaning that Ateman's route tree isn't as extensive as other receivers and he frequently found himself in single coverage. He also missed the 2016 season with a broken foot. His draft stock is heavily dependent on how he performs during the pre-draft process.

Pitt junior WR Quadree Henderson will declare for the 2018 NFL Draft.

The 5-foot-8, 190-poundser is an athletic burner who never completely proved himself as a difference-maker in Pitt's offense. He struggled to carve out a niche the Panthers' attack this year (186 rushing yards, 251 receiving yards) after posting a 60-631-5 receiving line in 2015 (former OC Matt Canada did a better job of getting his athletes into space). Henderson brings a lot of value as a returner. He had seven kick return touchdowns in his collegiate career. Henderson profiles as a full-time returner and slot WR hopeful. Henderson was not ranked in Mel Kiper's recent list of top-10 draft-eligible receivers, but he checked in as the No. 10 wide receiver (albeit in the 2019 NFL Draft class) on NFLDraftScout.com's list. Our early guess is he lands in the top half of Day 3.
