Sure Holmes didn;t draft Swift but that was supposedly one of the best players he inherited and he's quite cheap. They just flat out don't want him on the team. Watching every Lions game and Hard Knocks, I get why. He is *soft.

I asked this question as well. Everytime I mention that Swift has played in 80% of his games and has averaged close to 15 fantasy points a game people run to say "well he was not ok in a lot of those games". The question is which is it? Was he playing through injuries or not? People seem to want to have it both ways with him.

Has nothing to do with “sexy roster” - what a ridiculous presumption.

There are several reasons I like trading in May/June. It’s early, and it’s before hype builds on players. Last year Swift was an early 3rd round pick until late august when he moved into the late 2nd and then by a week before the season he was getting picked at the 12-13 turn.

Similarly as news develops of how the Eagles intend on using Swift, his value could also build. Or any other player.

Call it a time-tested style where I like getting trades done earlier because I tend to get better value.

In this specific case, it’s a new owner who took over a team about a week ago, and they’re loaded at RB. I know my league well enough to know that the early bird gets the worm, and new owners tend to want to move assets to put their own stamp on a team.

Which means if I’m going to be able to capitalize on that situation, the sooner the better. Because I also know my leaguemates will be trying to make deals with the new guy as well.

Thinking about the ETN ceiling talk and IDK, maybe we shouldn't even say stuff like that. Cooper Kupp was considered the definition of a high floor, low ceiling player after a few years of his career and then he went prime Jerry Rice mode for 1.5 seasons. It does of course take the right confluence of circumstances but once we know a player is good, I don' think we can be very sure about who has a high end ceiling and who doesn't.

I'm not selling him. But when I look at his gamelogs, and his competition for targets, I am not happy with his targets.

I’ll pile on. I was lucky enough to have Chase in both of my leagues. The one that is a SuperFlex I traded him as part of a package that brought back CMC and Fields, as I needed another QB. I don’t believe that you trade guys like Jefferson or Chase unless you’re bringing back a proven stud in return along with other pieces. What good are draft picks in this situation? The hope that you might hit the lottery and a player that you pick ends up being one of their caliber or that perhaps the multiple picks may end up being players that are of their worth when combined, at best? There’s also the chance that the picks fizzle out completely, of course. Not worth that chance.

Agree, but within reason. If you can beat up a team for multiple 1sts, especially early 2024, then it might be worth it, but it has to be a true godfather offer or like @JohnnyU said, just build around them.

But if you can flip Chase for MH Jr + 2 other 1sts, sure - do that. Outside of that, there’s just no point.

Agree, but within reason. If you can beat up a team for multiple 1sts, especially early 2024, then it might be worth it, but it has to be a true godfather offer or like @JohnnyU said, just build around them.

But if you can flip Chase for MH Jr + 2 other 1sts, sure - do that. Outside of that, there’s just no point.

What about Cee Dee Lamb and a mid 1st and a late 1st? I wouldn’t.
