Nabers or Puka?
Oof. I’m kinda on team Nabers here.

Love Puka. Nabers is an athletic freak and looks like mini-Randy Moss out there. He just looks like he’s better than everyone on the field. It’s hard to describe that “it” factor.

Puka is great - I love him. But I think his numbers drop a little this year.
We are saying the same (or similar) thing. My thought is that even if Nacua regresses to 95/1300/7, he's still WR1 status and we don't know what we have in Nabers. If they are coming off the board at the same time, it's Nacua 100% of the time for me. If you're competing, Nacua is a no brainer. For Nabers to beat Nacua in PPR leagues, he'll have to break a stout rookie record and the likelyhood of that happening with Daniel F'ing Jones on board seems minimal to me. In a rebuild, Nabers all day for the potential of him being THE WR1 in the next year or two.

I would like to think I am competing, but may not need Nabers since my WRs are pretty deep (Jefferson, Chase, MHJ, Nabers). I just got offered Puka for Nabers out of the blue.

I initially was thinking Puka for sure, but then hesitated due to Nabers upside. I really was split on this one.

Draft sharks value chart has
Puka - 70
Hock - 28
Worthy - 45

So 73-70 in my favor, not counting TEP, or must start 2 TE lineup.
🤔
As said before, it's pretty even. What's the old adage about wanting to be on the side of the trade with the fewer players? I expect Puka to regress a bit this year, but he is only 23 and he has demonstrated greatness in an historic season. I think I'd keep him. You won last season with Kmet and Schultz presumably?
So how much value do you place in that roster slot? A couple trades like this and you no longer have room for that specutive addition.

For what it's worth, my fav calc has Nabers worth a litte more than Puka.

It sounds like your prospective trade partner feels the same way I do - last year may have been Puka's high water mark. It may not have been, but Nabers is a better raw talent. Puka is a very very skilled player.

I'd probably stand pat.

I value it, but to get an elite TE I woulda made the move. Also Hock can go on my IR slot, so not as much immediate impact. With a 50 man IDP roster, chances are good someone else will hit the IR in time for Hock to come back. We had it worked out verbally, but when I sent it, he countered adding a top 6 LB (my LB1) and ain't no way. Dude got greedy and killed the deal.

I then tried to get Nico+Chase Brown from another owner, and he rejected - I thought it was a slight overpay but wanted to parlay Puka's value into another Brown share. Ah well.

Mark Andrews check?

I need to trade him. I have Andrews, Kincaid, and as of last night, Brock Bowers.
I need depth at both WR and RB.

I offered him up for either Jayden Reed or Rashee Rice to a guy with tons of WR and no TE, but no bite or even a counter offer.

I’m surprised that didn’t get done. I’d easily move Reed or Rice for Andrews.

Would you give a presumed late 26’ 1st for Michael Penix in a 2QB league? It’s my own first and I’m a heavy contender. Current QB room is Stroud, Purdy, Young and Geno. With Young looking like a certified bust and with Geno’s age, it’s a chance I’d be down to just two starters next season. And honestly, at least as of right now, I’d probably value Penix over any QB in the 25’ class. His situation is fantastic.

Yeah, I would definitely do that deal. Doubt that gets it done though.

Just got an offer for Baker Mayfield in 1QB dynasty.
My other QBs are Stroud and Rodgers.
I only have Baker for one more year.
He had Tua and Russell Wilson.
Offered me a 2025 3rd rounder.
I am in Second year of a rebuild and a .500 team.
I need RBs and WRs bad now.
He had excess WRs (contract years left)
McLaurin (2)
D. Johnson (2)
Waddle (1) with very high salary
I suggested them or his 2nd for my 4th in return.

Unless it is TE premium, I would not consider this either.

I’ve got a couple offers out there right now to the Penix owner. He’s frustrated after Tua’s injury last night and he said everyone’s for sale. The one he’s seriously considering:

Give: 26 1st, 27 1st
Get: Penix, Josh Jacobs

This would be a steal for you.

Had an interesting trade offer just hit my inbox from a team that just lost Tua and has decided to tear it all down. I’m a contender, looking to repeat this season.

Get: Josh Jacobs, Tony Pollard, 2025 4th
Give: 2025 3rd, 2026 1st, 2027 1st

Both the 1sts are mine, so let’s presume late. These are my only 1sts for the next three years.

It’s a 10 man, start 11 2QB PPR, 1.5 TE Premium.

Current RB room: Bijan, Gibbs, Walker, White, Mason

Can conceivably start up to 6 RBs a week.

Worth the move? Just FYI, current QB room is Stroud, Purdy, Geno and Bryce.

With Pacheco and Puka out for awhile, anyone making offers for these guys in dynasty?
I doubt there's much value drop for Puka given his age and I'm not sure I'd want Pacheco with the extent of his injury. Pacheco also seems to be one of the more replaceable starting RBs in the league.
I disagree on Pacheco being one of the more replaceable backs, however due to injury and his desire to get every inch on every play I think his long term outlook is concerning. Depending on the roster make-up I could see a Puka holder taking two fifty cent pieces for his dollar of Puka if a contender. Was just curious if anyone through out an offer on either guy as I having trouble gauging their value in their current state.

Where we at with Derek Carr in 2QB/SF leagues. Is the sudden resurgence legit? I’ve always felt he’s been a little under-rated.

I’ve got a chance to acquire him in a 2QB league but I’d have to come off Addison. The full offer is Carr/2026 3rd for Addison. My current QB room is Stroud, Purdy, Geno and Bryce, so I don’t necessarily need him, but depth is always appreciated in a 2QB. And honestly, if he keeps up his current pace, he may would replace Purdy as my QB2.

Edit: I should probably list my WR room as well.

16 team TEP+++ (must start 2 TE, and it’s TEP scoring) PPR SF IDP. I won the league last year, & my team is competitive. Currently 1-1, 1st in scoring.

I have Puka on IR, & Deebo is out for a few games, leaving me starting 3 of Pittman, Mooney, Gabe, McLaurin.

It’s less than ideal. Fortunately we can start 2-4 RB, and I have Hall, Stevenson, & Conner. Also Ty Chandler, who’s probably going to be a NYE fill-in.

But I’m still thin at WR. BYE weeks are gonna start hitting soon.

I currently have Schultz+Kmet as my TEs, and my only depth is Tommy Tremble.

I’ve been offered Aiyuk + Cade Stover for Puka. Stover can be taxi’d, so he wouldn’t count against my roster.

Kinda feels like Aiyuk is about to go off with Deebo out. I have Puka and Aiyuk as roughly the same tier (despite Aiyuk’s predictably slow start after the hold-out)

Would you do it? I’m on the fence. I tried to negotiate a deal for ‘Muth, and also tried to get a pick back, but this the offer.

(also offered me Aiyuk + Reynolds, which doesn’t interest me)

Don’t do something today that you’ll regret in 5 weeks. Will you really want Deebo AND Aiyuk? Can you move Deebo too?

Don’t do something today that you’ll regret in 5 weeks. But this is kind of understandable if you think you can compete.
That’s occurred to me.

but Puka is expected to miss 7 weeks (or more), and I have Puka and Aiyuk in roughly the same tier. FBG does as well as other sites I follow. Charts have it close. I’m losing by roughly 5-10% in the trade, depending on value chart & not counting TEP+ format.

What I lose the most is 3 years of age between Aiyuk & Puka. I am also high on Stover as a prospect, and in this format TEs are incredibly valuable.

My team is definitely competitive - I won the league last year, and have a top 3 league IDP lineup as well (we start 11 IDP, 11 offense)

F it. I pulled the trigger.

I just watched a video of one of the FF docs I follow who believes Puka won’t be back to form until 2025.

Looking at August start-up value, Puka WR8, Aiyuk WR12.

I can always sell Deebo or Aiyuk in the offseason if I want to diversify. LAR feels like a train wreck this year - 60% of their OL is out.

Fingers crossed it works out. 🤞🏼

Good decision I think. Aiyuk is class and has proven to be more durable as well so far.

Reasonable offer, but I'd probably hold steady. My rule of thumb is not to make depth trades unless I NEED the depth.

Good rule of thumb to follow. I did, however, end up making this deal yesterday, though. Actually ended up getting a slightly better version of it because I was able to get the 26’ 3rd moved up to what should be a top-4 2025 3rd.

Give: Diontae Johnson
Get: Zack Moss, 2025 3rd

10 team PPR, start QRRWWTFFFDK

I’m hesitant to give up Diontae after his 14 target game, but my team is competition ready except for my RB2(who has been Chase Brown up to now, followed by Spears/Steele/McLaughlin/KMiller. Walker is my RB1).

My other WRs are AJB, Rice, Olave, London, Flowers, Odunze, Pittman, Iosivas. Ive been prepared to “tank” as my team is still pretty young (Daniels and Bowers are my QB and TE. Also have Goff and Andrews but they’re obv duds this year) and pick up some RBs in the draft or wait on a better trade option.

I feel like DJ could be a WR2 on the year, and I’m gonna feel dumb if he ends up killing it and Chase/moss becomes a 50/50 split. Am I overthinking it?

Should we be buying low on Brandon Aiyuk right now? I’ll admit I haven’t paid him much attention in the past, always been a big Deebo fan - never truelly believed Aiyuk was a true #1.

Am I wrong? He got the contract, still getting up to speed after missed TC. Is he a good buy low target?

Where would we rank him amongst dynasty WR’s going forward?

If you believe he will be WR1 with that offense when Kittle, Deebo & CMC are all back @ 100%, and still demand high target volume, Yes this is a good Buy Low time.
Having missed TC and being out for the contract should not have been significant for him as a veteran player in that offense. What is the cause for his low #’s? Is it he is seeing increased heavy coverage and more Top DB draw?
Plausible but that should be the norm for WR1 on any offense.

What is a Buy Low price today?
Target late 2025 1st or a 2026 1st
I have been trying to acquire him but owner is 3-0 despite Aiyuk’s low production.

I've always been more in Ray B's camp on Aiyuk. I can't say that I would want to pay more than a late '25 if I was targeting him, but I get the appeal. I tested this on KTR's trade calculator, and they have him slightly more valuable than a mid '25 1st. In my league where I can only start 3 WRs, I wouldn't be in on a mid-1st, but I get it if you can start 4.

Valid point! Cost vs Value to see your starting lineup matters

My 12 Team 1 QB TE+ can start 5 WR so depth is crucial.
I offered Otton, Ridley & Addison along with Estime (he is a Javonte/Jaleel owner) for Aiyuk & Bucky Irving.
But will Aiyuk break out of his “Debbie Downer” performance trend? I believe YES!

How much do you value (or churn) the last 3-5 spots on your dynasty roster?
--------------

I started my first dynasty league six years ago and have enjoyed a fair amount of success in this 24-man x 12-team league with 19 keepers. However, I have come to the realization that I've been doing the end of my roster all wrong.

I really wanted to embrace the novelty of dynasty. Do the research. Buy the scouting portfolios, put a stamp on "my" guys with 3rd, 4th, 5th round rookie selections, trust the talent evaluations and patiently wait for their opportunity to carve out larger roles.

Obviously, the depth of the analysis that a guy like Matt Waldman produces is beyond impressive. It impressed me so much, that I effectively made him the head of scouting for my dynasty team years ago. Ray Garvin also in the room. I considered this analysis a secret weapon against most of the competition in my league.

I had the most points scored for four consecutive seasons entering this year (don't ask about the playoffs). However, I was getting long in the tooth at a number of spots. I had an opportunity to trade D Henry for a '25 1st and took it. There were no obvious replacements to fill that RB2 spot, but I had the most optimism for Spears, McLaughlin, or Kendre Miller stepping up to be functional. Khalil Herbert, Dameon Pierce, and rookie selections Vidal and Steele also in the mix. Henry was obviously going to be a big loss, but I still had CMC there to hold down the fort at RB1.

I heard the Mason buzz like everyone else, and he was a priority it the rookie/fa draft. I listened to Feel it or F it, and Matt was out on the idea that any one back would be dominant in the event that CMC went down. So, F my CMC handcuff as early as the 2.11. I had a Jermaine Burton to secure.
CMC goes down and I'm looking at a RB room offering some long-term promise, but absolutely nothing in terms of current production that can be plugged into a starting lineup. So bleak that I pulled the plug on the season despite being locked and loaded at QB, WR, and TE.

I regret to inform you that Matt Waldman was relieved of his post. Khalil Herbert and Jaleel McLaughlin were also shown the door.

Takeaways? I think the approach that I have been taking for the past handful of years might have worked okay in a more robust league. Maybe if the 24-man rosters also had a 10-man taxi squad, such that no forms of life could be found on the waiver life. However, I think I have been missing out on too many potential scores on waivers in favor of showing way too much patience to guys with talent, but no immediate path to relevance. Nacua was on my radar last year, but no way was I going to drop a McLaughlin, Herbert, or "miniature CMC" Deuce Vaughn.

It's kind of disappointing. I wanted dynasty to be a different experience than chasing points and actively churning through players on the waiver wire, the same way I associate with re-draft. Unfortunately, I think the league's rosters are too shallow not to take the same approach. I think that prioritizing the present opportunity and not getting haughty about the pedigree of the talent is going to be a better way to capture some of these waiver wire gems moving forward. Use the analysis to get the best combination of talent and opportunity, but give these end-of-roster guys a much shorter leash.

Don't get me wrong. I have always played the waiver wire in dynasty, but it has probably been more of playing the last roster spot, when it should actually be the last three or four. There's no way a 6th round talent as limited as Khalil Herbert can ever make it 3+ continuous years on my roster ever again. But that doesn't mean I can't aggressively try to snap him back up if the long awaited trade ever goes down.

Sorry about the novel. I really do feel a lot of guilt about figuratively throwing Matt out on the street in my fantasy endeavors.

Yep, different animal entirely. Regardless, I don't think there's anything wrong with your initial idea of starting with the late 1st. Letting him negotiate up to mid-1st is probably more than fair for this format.

Trying to work Bucky in might be a complicating factor if Aiyuk is the primary target. People get an early hit on a rb like that, and they tend to not want to give them up without an overpay.
