I’m not shopping the 1.1 in the only league I have it and I haven’t gotten any offers either (not a very active FFPC league though). I made some rebuild trades before last season that got me the 1.1 and knowing there’s a bona fide rookie that everyone agrees is the slam dunk 1.1 , it makes me excited to make that pick and have that kind of player to build my team around for the next 5+ years. You only get a shot at the 1.1 once in a while so I wanna take it and not trade it away. Just more for the fun of the hobby and building my team, and not wooried about pure value, sell high kid of stuff. This ain’t the stock market for me. It’s fairy tale football where I enjoy getting players I covet.

I want to take Bijan enough to pay the top half of my 2024 draft to let me take him, whether that’s getting 1.02 or 1.03 to take a rookie, deal for Love, or maybe deal for a lesser but viable option (at less cost).

But like you, I just want Bijan on my team. I think he’s gonna be really fun to roster - and more importantly, a fun player to watch play football.

A rookie RB going round 1 of a superflex startup is pretty remarkable. So in non superflex that would put him at pick 1.03. A rookie, at pick 1.03.

I agree with it and historically it's reasonable for an incoming RB of his caliber. I've only been playing dynasty a little over 10 years but and I consider him basically the 4th extremely coveted, first round startup type RB to enter the league in that time, and really got to go back 11 years for one of them.

Barkley and Elliot were two of them and by most measures if you took one of them at 1.3 of a startup I think you'd have done ok. Trent was the other one and obvioiusly a major disappointment but even with him I did a startup after his rookie season and he went 1.3 in that startup.

I don't put Gurley in this group but it was close. But with him having the ACL tear I don't think he was thought as much of a sure thing. I did two startups the year he came out and took him at 2.2 and 2.5, so a little off a first round caliber.

But to me, long story short, I don't see Bijan as 1.3 risky.

I'd assume JJ and Chase are your top two ranked players. If that's the case who is your third? Lamb? I really struggle with putting anyone over Bijan at 3 myself in non-SF and for sure no RB's. A lot of really good players but anytime I get to thinking 1.3 is to high for Bijan I can't ever come up with anyone I would put over him.

If this is the league I THINK you're talking about, it might behoove you to keep your 2024 assets. If, for whatever reason, several of your long list of 2023 1st round picks do not work out, you'll be without a reasonable shot at competing for 2 years. IMO, I'd prefer to come off some of those 23 mid to low 1sts instead. Mitigating risk, and all...

Different league. In the league with 6x 1sts, I have 1-4, and will be taking Bijan and a couple QBs, then maybe the WR1 (also have 8, 10, & 13, so lots of RB left to take later)

This league is a 16-team IDP PPR SF. Fields is my lone QB, and I dealt Swift (in part) for the 1.01, so I could use a RB, but I also need a QB. If I can deal for a QB using my ‘24 draft capital I’ll be a serious contender. I was 6th in points last year despite losing Lance & Hall to injuries early. So adding a 2nd QB & Bijan might be a league-winning “go for it” move.

It’s likely my 2024 1st will be in the 8-12 range without making a move, so I’m not giving away too too much. No way I’d get MH Jr, for example.

I GIVE UP: 1.01, 2.01, JAX Calvin Ridley WR

Rejected the offer for the following reasons:
PHIL RB Sanders (26 yo) is FA and with <50% return to Philly = future uncertain or RBBC
TB WR Godwin needs QB and potential new Offense / Evans cap cut/trade means more double coverage for Godwin
ATL TE K Pitts recovering MCL & needs QB / OC wants to run more (still young so valuable)
1.06 = possible nice WR, but clearly not generational RB Bjan caliber
2024 1st is the best part of the deal ...

Calcs show it was a good deal ... but uncertainty is part of the game ... I don't like 3 Rolls of the Dice for the ROI

Right now Love is the only target I know the owner is willing to deal. No idea for how much.

Teams 1.02 & 1.03 haven’t renewed and aren’t responding to DMs at the moment (or reading them, for that matter).

Not everyone is as active in February as we are on FBG, it seems.

Out of curiosity I ran it through my favorite trade calc two ways:
1. 1.01 for 1.02 + 1.03
Result: 214.42 - 290.98
Advantage: picks 2+3

2. Bijan for Gibbs+JSN
Result: 242.87 - 282.37
Advantage: Gibbs+JSN, but it’s closer

Both scenarios favor the 2 picks or players.

Agreed. Bijan is in a tier by himself so I keep the 1.1 in this case.
I guess if you were super high on Gibbs and one of the “big 3“ rookie WRs, then you could do that trade. Also, perhaps this trade makes more sense after the NFL draft, where you know the landing spots for each of the 3 players.

Yes on Gibbs who I believe belongs in his own tier after Bijan.

I did offer 1.2/1.11 in a league for 1.1 however so I'm of course acknowledging that Bijan is the better prospect worth paying up to obtain. But for now I'd hold that 1.3 and hope momentum accelerates for that pick, though I personally am not loving a third player right now or put another way feel great using 1.3 on anyone based on what I know right now.

In that scenario I’d have to deeply question 1. Why your prospective partner would possibly reject that, and 2. Why you would possibly offer that much?

It’s a short bench league. It would still leave me with 1.01, 1.04, 1.05.
Really if it’s declined I suppose I can just take a bunch of dart throws and hope the other players turn out.

Well, my context is a complete rebuild, so turning the 1.01 into 1.02, 1.03, & 1.07 would make a lot of sense.

That said, I have picks 1-4, 8, and 10, so it would actually have to be 2024 capital - which makes it less of a smash, since less value a year+ out.

SF - landed CEH (flipped for what ended up being ‘23 1.01) Higgins, ZWilson () and what ended up being ‘23 1.08, & 1.10. So a mixed bag. Bijan will be a nice get. It would have been nice if Z.Wilson wasn’t a .

In single QB I’d have even less incentive to upgrade from Herbert to Mahomes. I see no reason to pay in picks or players for what’s likely to be a minor upgrade once the draft/FA is in the rear view.

Feel like one of my teams is Mahomes away from being great. Currently have Herbert and was disappointed with him this past year. Owner posted that he’d move Mahomes but it would take quite a bit. 1.04 and wasting a roster spot before cut down seem worth it to most here? I agree with pretty much all of this but would add a few things.

I actually have a Herbert/Mahomes one start FFPC team and I try and imagine would I pay 1.4 to add Mahomes right now if I only had Herbert? My answer would be no. Also as part of that cost you are losing a roster spot. So 1.4 and a roster spot when I already have Herbert? I'd pass.

I just think with combo of Herbert, 1.4 and the extra player you get to keep that gives you more to work over next few months then bogging your roster down a little with 2 QB's.

Regardless of whether it’s a JSN landing on the Chiefs, Giants, or Cowboys, or a Gibbs weighing 210 & landing on the Dolphins, while Addison runs a 4.35 and lands on the Vikings, or simply getting closer to draft day & someone in your league getting all over a dude, something is going to happen to cause that 1.04 to pop in value.

That alone is worth seeing what happens. And especially in a 1 QB league. I just don’t see the point of going from Herbert to Mahomes in that format if it costs that much.

With that much draft capital & a ready to win team, you would seem to be positioned perfectly to take Bijan and see if you can deal 2, 3, and 4 for a JJ or Chase.

1 QB format, you want as many studs as you can get. You've already got a young upside QB. He just had a down year.

If I had to guess I’d say 1.04+ 2.02 would be fair value? To the JT owner probably looking for closer to 1.03 + 1.11-12

I would put his value as less then 1.1 but more then 1. 2 in terms of single picks.

In terms of multiples I'd say something like 3/10, or 2/12. That seems in line with market prices to me but I actually have 2/11 and I was offered JT for those two picks I would decline at this time. But that's me, he's not someone I'm remotely interested in buying at his cost.
