Really boils down to what helps me to rebuild more, 1-5+DJM, or 1-4, + 8, 10, 13

What's your best guess of the players you'd pick 1-4?

depends. 1–2-3 likely Bijan, Stroud, Young, but of course NFL draft capital matters.

If not competing in 2023 is the major goal there is no way I'm not picking Richardson in a SF with one of my top 4 picks. He's fantasy can't miss and I'll say that with caveat of as long as he's on the field. Which may not be primarily until 2024 and he has higher concerns then the two you mentioned of staying on the field but forget all that. His upside blows them sideways.

If I had picks 1-4 I'd know with a high degree of certainty already if I'm making those picks I'm drafting Bijan, Gibbs, Richardson and my last decision is mulling over that second QB.

QB situation could be better. I dunno about give up, but I’d be hesitant to buy unless it’s a great value.

I’m not saying I won’t take ARich.

The downside of ARich seems substantially higher than that of Young (e.g. young’s floor feels safer)

It’s fine to fall in love with upside - especially FF upside, which sure - he has in spades.

But if he doesn’t get the draft capital, or land on a team that I believe can develop him, I’m out as a top 4 SF pick.

Fortunately I have months to figure it out. We can disagree on ARich - that’s ok. I’m not convinced he’s a future star in either the NFL or FF. There’s plenty of time for me to become convinced. I just lack your conviction on either Gibbs or ARich - but especially ARich.

I have core of JTaylor, Javonte, Dobbins, Akers. KHerbert. Lamb, Kirk, Pickens, Palmer, Pierce.

i don’t think I can let go of the 1.3 for a QB (even as good as Hurts) when I still need to find another stud WR to compete with the line up requirements.

Hurts value as a rusher, and TD vulture makes him one of the elite assets even on 1QB, IMO.

If I had a 1.03 and needed a QB, I wouldn’t hesitate to move the pick for Hurts.

My question is why the Hurts shareholder would want to move him for that.

Makes sense from both sides...I don't blame either of you for passing on him at those prices...he is a real difficult guy to figure out...my guess is the other Owner would want another decent piece to go along with 2.7.

It really depends on the other owners. I think it’s worth it, but not sure I would be willing to pay that. I tried to get Fields with the 1.07 straight up and no way will that guy budge and he has Mahomes in a 1QB league.

In that situation I’d try to add something to the 1.03 to get Mahomes instead. He’s the only QB I am willing to pay for in 1QB. There’s always other guys that are cheaper and easier to acquire. IMO, QB values are like roller coasters, always going up and down with injuries to their teammates or themselves, regression years, the next young stud, etc.

I have shopped him in all three. Literally the best offer I have gotten is a random future 1st. It's shocking. Getting ANY two 1sts for him is not possible in any of these leagues.

I was just curious because I moved the #2 overall that I had traded for to get Higgins. The deal was done towards the trade deadline in 2022 and there was an outside chance the pick would be #1 overall, so that added a bit of a gamble. Plus, a contract league and Higgins is really cheap for a really long time, so that factored into it.

Thanks to everyone for the input. I was curious how Gibbs and the top WRs were valued compared to Higgins.

Surprising that Higgins didn’t generate better offers than a random first. I have been trying to move Higgins and Dak for Josh Allen in a 16 teamer but no go so far. Guy with Allen also has Fields and his WRs suck so was thinking he might bite.

Oh hell no on that. Tee just turned 24 in January and plays with Joe Burrow. Maybe 1.2 if you need a RB really bad but in non SF, anything less is not doing it for me.

I have the 1.3 in my main league and I wouldn't do it. I start Lamar with Huntley, Lance and Love as my backups. I'm taking Gibbs or a receiver. I need wr help as well, I have Kirk, Aiyuk, Diontae and Pierce at WR. I have JT, Hall and Dillon at rb.

It's a 27 man roster, start 2wrs 2rbs 1te, 2 flex league. My league loves Wrs and you have to give up too much to trade for one.

It's know your league. I wouldn't trade that pick for a QB unless I knew I was getting one of the big 2. One of the Qbs, it not all will be available in my league at picks 2.3 and 2.10.

With our starter requirements, I feel comfortable drafting a Wr or Rb at 1.3.

Hurts is going to have to do it again for me.

At this point I wouldn't be selling those picks unless I am combining for a top 3 pick. I would want to see how the NFL draft goes.

The direction you should take is based on your options.
Yes trade Breece, but if you can't get something equal to 1.02 plus more then don't.
I would personally trade both Breece and bijan if you are able to get good value for each guy, but even trading just one for a good deal is fine, preferably Breece, and then just draft guys. Trading back from 3 might be a good idea as well cause that pick should also get a lot of later/future picks back.

Your direction is directly related to your options though. Just need that first domino to fall.
I hate starting rebuilds with RBs though.

You're not going to compete this year, probably not next. I'd definitely move Hall if I could get the 1.02. If I couldn't get a haul for Bijan now, I'd draft him to trade him prior to the season for young WRs or a third QB. RBs are of no use to you.

I don’t mind trading Hall at all or even Bijan, but your team is closer than you think.In SF, QB is key or it is in my league. It is the late 1st, early 2nds no use for in this rebuild. And I think the top end talent in 24 is better. Williams, Maye, couple nice RB,(Henderson, Allen), top 3 WR better(Harrison, Worthy, Egbuga) Bowers better. i think you want 24 picks in every deal. Can you get 1.2 and 24 1st. End up with all 24 1st would be interesting.

lots of options for sure but mocking out team, determining what other teams 24 1st look like and always looking at what your team looks like is key. Patience is the last piece. Because standing pat right now is not ugly especially if Levis drops to 1.10 because hard for me to mock. I can only know my home league and QB is king there. 1.1 in it will be QB. Robinson probably goes 2 but could drop to 5. Thing with RB is J Taylor. He got drafted few years ago over Jefferson and Lamb(my picks) and while useful if you were rebuilding he is not the WR future And not a piece to build around and would be traded. I know I rather Harrison over Bijan as a building block for team 3 years away myself.But we only start 1 RB.. BTW 2 years ago was Najee Harris over Waddle(my pick) and how does value look today.

I've never been successful without good QBs in SF and they are extremely hard to trade for. I'd take the risk and load up on them where I can.

I am holding off before I make too many concrete decisions, but right now I do see a drop off at 1.04. I think the NFL draft will have some RBs rise dramatically and maybe 1-2 WRs. But as of not I want a top 3 pick or not feeling confident.

You’re right. But then I won my league last year starting Brady and Mike white. Tannehill, Dalton and Darnold started at times for me.

I don’t see that at all. Gibbs & JSN are both looking really solid, pending landing spot. And Charbonet tested well - his stock could jump with a selection by say, MIA or PHI. Also this is a deep TE class. While Addison hurt his stock at the combine, a few other WRs helped theirs. And again, some NFL teams may still be in on a player who tested poorly. IIRC Ridley was similar to Addison in that he ran a slow 40 & had a 33” vert. He turned out to be ok.

I mean, you can try to lowball - I’ve been getting offers for 1.08, 1.10, 2.01 and they’ve all been fairly decent value. I’m just more in need of the youth for my rebuild. Anecdotal sample size of 1, but I’m not sure I buy into the negging before we know landing spots.

This still looks like a really solid class to me. If your league-mates feel the same, you should try to gobble up those mid-to-late 1sts.

This is a very calendar / perception dependent take though.

After the NFL draft everything we think we know about player value hits the reset button aside from maybe the top 3-4, and maybe there’s even movement there.

Hypothetical: Achane gets drafted by the Chiefs and they don’t re-sign McKinnon. Does he go late 1st in FF drafts?

Hypothetical 2: Sean Tucker, who didn’t attend the combine, goes ham at his pro day, gets drafted by BUF. How much does his FF stock rise?

Flowers to the Chiefs? Tillman to the Chargers? QJ to the Cowboys? There’s just so much that could happen.

Or any of those WR could go to the Ravens and die a horrible FF death. lol

And like seemingly every year, there will likely be players at 8-12 who end up being better than players at 3-7, so it’s hard to say who the WR3-4 is at the moment.

It’s just such a crap shoot. I’m as guilty if anyone of valuing player prospects based on current mocks, but I constantly remind myself that it’s a long way to being settled.
