Dynasty Value Discussion Thread (7 Viewers)

Just had a guy ask if CeeDee Lamb was available for trade. I replied asking if his 1.01 was available for trade (he has 5 of the first 6 picks). So that ended pretty quickly. He said he's not looking to move any of those picks so IDK what he thought I'd trade him away for.

I was thinking if he offered ARSB and 1.04-ish I might do it. Out of line?

Sounds like you jumped the gun and squashed negotiations prematurely.
Well, I told him any deal would have to include one of those first-round picks and he said he didn't want to trade any of those. If anything squashed negotiations it was that.

So IDK what he thought I was going to take for Lamb. His top pass-catchers are ARSB and Pitts, but I think Lamb is worth a good bit more than either.

I wouldn’t have led with the 1.01. No one is giving Bijan Robinson for Cee Dee Lamb. But if you were going to add to it you probably should have done so without asking if it was for trade. You know, make your best offer up front for someone like Robinson.

Not bad. But does it fit your build?
Maybe. It would certainly let me deepen my WR corps if I got one of the top WRs with the pick, and I could use the help. But if I'm not getting an early 1st as part of the deal I'll just hold on to Lamb and try to get one more good WR instead of needing two.

It was kind of a ball-breaking response. I've been in leagues with this guy for years.

No harm in going back and making an actual offer (like the ARSB plus early pick) that you would be willing to accept.

Is this non-ppr? Because in ppr Lamb was just barely ahead of ARSB last year. Maybe if I was the ARSB owner I'd give you a 3rd for the swap, but it doesn't move the needle enough for me to give up a player like Addison or Flowers.

Just hang onto Lamb. You know what you have and he is a high end asset. Only way you you move him is if someone wants to overpay which is obviously not happening here. There will be better options to improve your WR core. But that ain't one of them. Move on.

That’s my gut feeling as well. Or, you could up your offer a little to try to get Bijan Robinson. I think they’re pretty close in value, but I would have to check some trade talks to be sure… If you have more of a need at running back, then wide receiver that wouldn’t be a bad mood.

Has the Chase Claypool ship sailed?

I have an offer of a '24 3rd in my inbox and am having difficulty not accepting it. I was in on Claypool last offseason. I'm out at this point.

Chase Cesspool?? Yes, I'm pretty sure that we've seen enough to know that he's a bum. I'd take a 3 and laugh hysterically as I'm smashing the accept button.

sellping Claypool for anything above a 4th sounds like a win to me

Very similar circumstance. Owner notoriously sends out a blank offer with just my guys asking what I would want. He does it last week for Lamb. I just won the title, and won twice l/4 years so no REAL reason to move Lamb, but I'll never say no to an offer. I told him it's going to take an overpay for me to justify moving him but feel free to offer something.
I get Treylon Burks, Darnell Mooney and 1.3. (he owns 1.2 as well.) Told him it wasn't close, and it would take Amon-ra 1.2 and 1.3 for me to consider. Like I said, I would need an overpay to move a top 5ish dynasty asset.

One of my finest moves ever was dumping Claypool for Friermuth before the draft last year. It's the small victories in trades that sometimes feel like the biggest wins.

I had to look it up because I didn't believe that CeeDee was a top 5 asset (non-SF). Learn something new every day!

Why wouldnt he be?

Why wouldnt he be?

Primarily a slot guy who ran behind Cooper when Cooper was there. That was the perception. i still don't think he's ahead of A.J. Brown, but other people have differing mileages that vary.
Pretty sure Cooper wasn't there last year, and Lamb looked the part of a stud WR.
A couple years younger than Brown is also nothing to sneeze at.
I personally have Lamb at #4, and wouldn't fault anyone for taking him over Bijan

Cooper was not there last year and CeeDee got volume for sure. Old ranking habits die hard, and people still don't want a slot guy at #4 overall. At least that's how you could explain that thinking. I personally kind of agree with it, though that line of thought could be outmoded.

Just went 1.4 in my FFPC startup behind JJ Chase and Bijan

As stated above, he's primarily been a slot guy his whole career. My perception was he was a top 5 WR talent, not necessarily a top 5 overall talent. Probably the same reason a lot of fantasy players have faded Keenan Allen his entire career and he's outproduced his ADP on the regular. Again, you learn something new every day and hopefully it makes you better!

For those buying Ridley, what's he going for? I'm tempted in a dynasty league where i could use some WR help.
Owner, but declined the 3.01 in a recent draft for him (they took Tillman in that slot).
I am in rebuild and he is part of my WR Core (start up to 6 WR). I think he will be solid WR2 range (20-24).
I don't know what it would take for me to part with him, but I do need a RB upgrade... Maybe TB White or Phil new toy Swift?

I think the time to buy him "cheaply" has passed. I also think his value will continue to climb through camp as the positive reports come in. I'd think he probably has late 1st value at this point.
Anybody worried about his age and giving up a late 1st for him?

No. His age is already factored into the cost IMO, why he's a late one and not a high and/or multiple 1's.

He'll play almost the entire season as a 28 year old. If you look back at most of the elite WR's this is their prime age. Most WR's who fall off cliffs at this age had major surgeries or exhaustive injury histories early in their career.

I am also of the opinion that wear and tear should always be heavily factored in age when trying to predict a decline in production. This is why I think his odds of aging gracefully are quite high as he's had what amounts to slightly less then 3 full NFL seasons of wear and tear, 49 career games. In theory he should be as fresh as any 28 year old WR I can recall and I personally see no valid reason to not expect at least 3 prime seasons out of him.

Not so much his age but is there enough ball to go around? I think a 1st is high for him.

I feel like I’m the only guy who isn’t overly optimistic about Ridley in Jacksonville, and it’s not because of a lack of talent or questioning his desire or anything but because I think that they’ll end up spreading the ball around there a lot and I could see several players catching anywhere from 50-70 balls. Last year Kirk had 84, Zay 82, Engram 73, and ETN 35. Those guy are still there and I don’t see Lawrence forgetting about them all of the sudden. Add Ridley and his receptions to that group and subtract some from the others. I can’t see giving up a 1st for him in this situation.

They can't all be on the field at the same time. Ridley IMO is the 1A and Kirk is the 1B. Zay Jones was in the right place at the right time last year. I don't expect him to get anywhere near the targets this year that he did in 2022.

I don’t agree with your rationale here but if this is how you feel I don’t see why you would consider trading for him or be worried about his age?

Zay Jones is not very good - his target share will decrease significantly.

I am not as optimistic like it appears those commenting in this thread are but for different reasons. I just don't have confidence that a guy missing a couple years of games is just going to jump right back into high end WR2 or WR1 level. He has had a good year and a half but the sample size isn't that big. I am just not sure he is to that level. I don't think he is worth the risk especially at the prices being thrown out here.

12 team, start QRWWWFKD (so only 1 or 2 RBs) Keep13.

Dobbins value for a WR? I’m trying to move him for a WR and I can’t get any bites. What range of WRs do you think he’s worth?

In an FFPC superflex best ball dynasty, I traded Ridley for the 2.02, which was on the clock, and I took Michael Mayer (TE premium). My team is tanking, and I knew that the other guy was interested in Ridley and that he wanted to unload rookie picks. Honestly, I thought the other guy would at least counter by asking for my '24 R3, but he took the deal with no counter. I was surprised.

In a league where I'm good at wr and weak at rb I was tossing around Pittman for Dobbins. But I'm not sure I'm making the move until I read some of what's going on at training camp with that new OC

Thanks guys. I’m set at RB in this league so wouldn’t mind a slight overpay. I’m hopeful for Pittman‘s future.

I wouldn't either. Those holding Dobbins last year, knowing 2023 would be better than 2022, probably shouldn't sell for this. He started to look decent towards the end of 2002.

I need a few price checks : Lions WRs Amon-Ra & Jameson Williams.

In our 16 team Devy Dynasty TE Premium Superflex league (yeah, I know), a new owner adopted a team that ran into that fortunate/unfortunate situation of having the same team draft two of his top devy players across the years. I reached out to asses if either was movable and got the "for the right price" reply I would expect.

I'm most interested in ARSB because my team is missing a true alpha WR and none of the entrenched owners will deal (not surprising). Williams would be a speculative attempt at getting a solid WR1 if he pans out but injury + suspension makes his value hard to assess.

I kicked the tires on ARSB and with my initial offer got "need a good deal more" so I think my perception might be off. I haven't yet tried Williams, but I know he might just be like a lot of my other "maybe" WRs and his speculation could cost me more than he's worth vs. guys who at least showed a little last year.
