Early/Late game TV split. Explain it to me. (1 Viewer)

Sorry ...to get back to the early/late game split...I think Tacos or a good hamburger would help mitigate this travesty of scheduling. I gotta admit this is pretty sad. Even the Goat is underperforming. Wait . Hmmm goat...

Agreed! There's never enough late games, and if one of them is a dud, which now with byes, means yes, one is definitely a dud.

I wouldn't be surprised if a big part of it is logistics, which would be lame, but that would not surprise me.

I understand that this probably is a relic of a past age when New York, therefore the Eastern Seaboard, drove the television market. But that age is long dead.

We have been living in the streaming world for well over a decade, it's time to shift the paradigm.

What is streaming at 4pm sunday?

It wouldn't hurt to bump an east coast game to 4:00 pm.

They did...Tampa. Fans prefer 1pm games. There's no reason to move games that will only be shown locally. Also we are in the time of the year where 4pm is daylight and then the 2nd half is in the dark. 6 teams were off and 6 are in primetime slots. That's close to 40% of the teams.
Completely disagree. NFL fans don't exclusively live on the east coast. Besides; gambling and magic football have flipped that dynamic on its ear.

To think people wouldn't be tuning into Chicago v Miami right now?

No. The main networks are running Tampa/LA over Chicago/Miami and twice on Sunday.

2 million people sign up for Sunday ticket. FOX is averaging 23 million for it's late Sunday doubleheader game.. Streaming doesn't move the needle. Pretty simple formula.

East Coast - Watch your home game at 1pm. Provide an intriguing 4 pm matchup to draw in doubleheader viewers.

West Coast - Watch the best road game at 10 am if your home team isn't east. Watch your home team at 4.

Wait!!! Seriously, why oy two late games on any Sunday???

That's a relic of a bygone era

More football options, at least in a perfect world there would be.

Yes, they're not giving us options and we all know that. But tell me that people, outside of local markets, wouldn't have pivoted from LA/TB to CHI/MIA and I'll call you a wishful thinker.

Depending Super Bowl champs at Tom Brady is likely one of the biggest games of the year not in prime time. Guessing this had something to do with why there was only 1 game up against it.

NFL rarely, if ever, cares what the MLB schedule looks like. Game 7 of World Series was supposed to be Saturday. Possibility of Sunday only happened because of the rain out mid-series.
