Electronic Cigarettes (3 Viewers)

You guys still like the tobacco flavors after vaping for 3+ months?

The only time I use tobacco is when I cut it about 50/50 with vanilla.

My current favorite is blueberry pie from gotevape.com
I'd have to say no since I haven't actually found one that I consistently like. Boba's is about it, but I don't really call that a tobacco. Everyone gets something different from this one it seems, but to me there's a dark chocolate taste to it with maybe a hint of tobacco.

Juices are my thing. Tell me your flavor profiles and I can recommend vendors and specific juices.
How do I tell you my flavor profile? I like tobacco bases with full, rich flavor and a strong throat hit.
Best tobacco flavors:

-The Duke-Indigo Vapor (actually your description of what you like is what this is)

-Uncle Cutty-Indigo Vapor (cherry pipe tobacco)

-Huntsman-Heather's Heavenly Vapes (Naturally Extracted Tobacco, earthy flavor with a maple tone)

-Legend-Heather's Heavenly Vapes (This one is a pipe tobacco)

-Almost anything at Ahlusion, they make the best Naturally Extracted tobaccos with a variety of flavors (American, Turkish, Pipe, Peach, Apple, etc). Smooth Crimal is a Boba's-like juice, but no raisin taste and the tobacco really stands out. One of the best juices out there.

-H1N1-Nickoticket

-I've heard Goodejuice has some nice tobacco flavors as well

Most like an analog: Freedom or Torque from Halo

Best RY4s (Caramel/Vanilla/Tobacco): Mr Vape, Tribeca from Halo, Butterfly's RY4, Hangsen RY4, Indigo Classic

Best tobacco flavors vendors in order:

Ahlusion

Indigo

Heathers Heavenly Vapes

I've tried about 30 vendors now, this is my :2cents:

Thanks DD, was going to grab an indigo tobacco sampler. Will have to hit up Aluhsion as well. If I can't find a tobacco I like in there, I guess it's pretty hopeless.

When I started vaping I vaped anything BUT tobacco. After discovering all these great tobacco juices however, now I vape tobacco flavors about 80% of the time.

I am an RY4 whore for sure, but I also like Dragon's Fire and Huntsman from HHV with drinks and really anytime really. The Indigo tobaccos are just awesome, I vape tobaccos that tend to be sweeter but there are a lot of options out there. Ahlusion has a lot of straight tobacco stuff, the naturally extracted tobaccos have great flavor, throat hit and clouds.

I still vape fruit flavors, especially in the evening. Hobbes Blood from Vapor Chef, Dragon's Crown from ECBlend, and Orange Creamsicle from Ahlusion are my favorites there. Those three vendors have great

I used to vape coffee flavors but I got a bad bottle that smelled like trash that had sat in the sun for a week, and now I just can no longer do them anymore.

Reomizer arrived. Easy stuff. I went with every size wick and wire, so I used the middle ones (Kanthal 30 and 2.5mm silica). 4 wraps like they show in the video and it was right at 1.2 ohm. Would have kicked this up a notch if it weren't for EG's brother liking this resistance, but I went with it.

Holy crap, Boba's has never tasted this good. And the plumes, and throat hit...

You squonk and it pools a little at the bottom, allowing the wick to get wet. Then everything extra just slowly drips right back down. You can squonk the hell out of this to keep it fresh with no fear of flooding it. So much easier to pull - feels way more natural than the stupid Cisco LR306's especially after they get gunked from these heavy juices. The first couple days with those are always great - and then I'd be fighting it from that point forward trying to get the most out of my $9 but not really enjoying things fully (cleaning never worked for me). And yeah, I can spend almost nothing on atomizers now. The wire and wick I bought was like $10 and this should probably last months if not a year. Even if I do get the gunk problem I can rebuild this thing every couple of days and it'll still be super cheap. And with my Reo rebuild kit I'll be impervious to equipment failure. Now I really want one of those RBA testers so I can do this on the go (I don't usually run around with a multi meter). Or maybe I just need another Reomizer so I can swap easily on the go in event of gunk / failure. :)

Absolutely love this thing. I think I finally found what I need to be successful this time around.

My bro is actually vaping unflavored 12 mg nic base to avoid gunking now. He'd rather vape with no flavoring than rebuild the atty every 2-3 days.

Funny you say that because I've been thinking about this route. Not to avoid gunking, but because of one of the other effects I get from vaping - ridiculous cotton mouth. It's worse on some flavors than others (Strawberry Cheesecake does this way less than Boba's does), so I'm pretty sure the flavoring contributes to this. This is part of what destroys the really sweet flavors for me as well - they almost make my tongue feel raw after using it enough. And I really don't smoke for the taste so much as the sensation. Also think I need to reduce nicotine content - I have both 12's and 18's and mix them together some depending on what level I'm seeking at the moment. At 18 the blasts from this device makes it way too easy to put myself into a vape coma though.

Rebuilding isn't a really big problem. I imagine I can cut that down to a 5 minute job with a little more practice - Reo's video is like 4 minutes long. And it's kind of fun to use my multimeter. But less is certainly better.

GF is using a Volcano ECig per recommendations here. However now it's burning through carnomizers and the flavor of the juice has a burnt flavor to it. She's swapped out batteries, changes Cartomizers frequently, etc. No effect. This seems to happen more in very cold weather (40 or below).

Any ideas?

Cartomizers need to be refilled/replaced after a period of time or they run dry, that's where the burnt taste comes from, when there's no more juice to vaporize and it starts to burn the wicking or batting material. If it's happening right off the bat with brand new cartomizers, though, then something she received is faulty or she has the wrong set up (too many volts, not enough resistance, etc. etc.) I'm assuming, though, that she's using the Magma (looks like a regular cigarette) rather than one of the vari-volt/watt options? That makes it a little more puzzling.

Taking a toothpick and sticking it into the carto hole, then dropping two or three drops of juice in the carto can prime it and prolong use of an individual unit. Another thing is cartos can't be burned to hot, or they simply taste like hell after just a few days. Use the ohms law chart, keep voltage set at reasonable levels to extend carto life.

I also get about one bad carto in ten, so theoretically you could get three pack that were all bad. Just like anything else in vaping, there is a pretty big error rate because most of the stuff comes from China, and China isn't known for their quality control. Not all the stuff of course, Innokin, Joyetech, SMOKtech, and Kanger all make strong products that seem to have a lower error rate. Start getting into clones of clones of clones, and things get dicey.

I happened on to a website for a B&M vape shop in Athens, GA a few days ago but I cannot find it now.

Anyone know what it is? I've searched and searched but am coming up empty.

No idea but I can tell you one of the best vape shops in the United States is in Newnan, Georgia by the name of Heather's Heavenly Vapes. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in.

It looks like she uses the inferno, but it looks like the design has changed?

http://www.volcanoecigs.com/inferno-kit.html

Hers looks more like this
So she has a tank? Did she order caromtizers with a pre-cut hole in it? Like this? http://www.vaporbeast.com/cartomizers-tanks/boge/boge-f16-pre-punched-tank-cartomizer-1-6-2-0-ohm-5-pack.html
Wow, the holes are punched pretty high on those carts. When I've had probs with burned taste off the bat its usually because I haven't given enough primer puffs (i.e. not firing at the time you do the puffs). They say the best method to get primed is to drip around the top first because that helps the base prime, then do a couple primer puffs. I usually do a lot more primer puffs than a couple, just to be sure.

I always wondered why they are so high. Although the setup i use insets the carto a little to screw into a base that locks it in so the hole winds up not being that high. Can you recommend any cartos with a lower hole?

Work with a guy who smokes those blue e-cigs or whatever the hell it's called. And his breath smells like he ate a pile of dog####. Is this cause and effect?

Yes, but it would be hauling y'all and your fancy equipment into a time machine. I still use V4L 3.5 ml tanks with the 1.5 ohm dual coil carts. Based on my last call with V4L customer service, I got the sense I may be the only remaining customer who still buys the Vapor Titan batteries.

Grabbed a "Blu" thingy at 7-11 last night, as it's cold out and I'm sick. It's not going to give me teh AIDS is it?
No, but it will taste awful and be frustrating. If you can go temporarily cigarette free with Blu, you can get off of cigarettes forever with something decent.

I don't think Blu ecigs taste awful. They have a mocha/cocoa taste to them.
their vanilla flavor is actually good

Even though the hole is high on those cartos it winds up not being much of an issue because simple tilting the ecig back to take a drag allows the juice below the hole to go into the hole.

Ok, I compiled a post that went through some of the thing a noob needs. This should help address anything I don't here.

There are lots of juice providers. I would recommend Heather's Heavenly Vapes for your first order. They have sample packs so you can try anything from the list you think you'd like, but they specialize in tobacco vapes.

I was going to recommend you go to Discount Vapors for the kit, but I see HHV has about the same kit for about the same price. It is the Kanger EVOD Kit, and it's very simple and effective for a new vapor. Just keep your extra battery charged and on you at all times!

Here are their tobacco juices:

Legend; Extracted pipe tobacco

Huntsman: Earthy tobacco that to me is very cigar-like. I've heard this one described as "Turkish" also.

Heavenly Tobacco: Is an RY4 which is the most popular tobacco juice. It's one part Caramel, one part vanilla and one part tobacco. This is my favorite.

Dragon's Fire: Extracted tobacco with hints of chocolate, this is my second favorite from them

They also have Pirate's Booty, Serendipity, Heavenly Army and Blade. Check out those descriptions.

Go with 18mg for your strength. I was a pack a day Marlboro Light smoker, 18 was fine for me (I went to 12mg thereafter, and still vape 12mg).

You can go 50/50 PG/VG to start with the tobacco juices, if you choose a fruit or bakery juice (recommended), go 70% PG.

Nothing can replicate a cigarette, get that in your head now. There is no head rush, but you maintain and after the first week or so you get used to it. There are Turkish blends out there which might be good for you. Halo has great tobacco juices also, and Torque 56 is supposed to be the closest thing to an analog FWIW. I no longer want analogs, so I'm not interested. I do like the tobacco vapes though and I really do enjoy vaping more than smoking, and I liked smoking.

Anyway there are a ton of juice vendors out there. HHV is middle of the road on price, ECBlend adn Mount Baker Vapor are the cheapest but they don't specialize in tobacco blends at all. I don;t like the MBV base, ECBlend to me is the best juice for the money. AVE, HALO, Ahlusion, Virgin Vapors, and so on and so on. So many good vendors out there, depends on what you like.

If you get that kit and maybe a couple of 15ml bottles of something, then a sample pack you can do the testing and what not. Again, get some juices other than tobacco flavor. At HHV the Blueberry Muffin and Double D watermelon are both excellent choices.

Good luck!
Thanks DD. Bookmarked.

Quit for nearly 4 years, fell of the wagon during a drunken poker night thanksgiving weekend.

Going to give this a whirl.

Had the reminder pop up on my phone and felt compelled to thank this thread again - 11 months since I picked up an ecigarette and haven't had a real one since.

Had fun reading through the 2011 posts tonight. For a lot of us it has been 3 years without a real cig because of these things. Cheers!

I have what may be a dumb question. I had previously purchased one of the V4L USB adapters for use in my car (plugs into the lighter). Well, it stopped working and I'm headed out to an ice fishing house that doesn't have electric tomorrow AM. I usually recharge batteries using this, since the car does not need to be running. Is there a difference between the models sold by V4L and any run of the mill USB/car lighter adapter you can buy anywhere? I'll only need it for charging batteries, and don't plan to use my USB Passthrough, if that makes a difference.

No

There is a lot of info in this thread but I am looking at getting a starter e-cig and eventually quit vaping too. The local gas stations and 7-11s sell Blu, Njoy and some other brand. They are about $35 or so. Are these any good? How do I go about selecting a good e-cig that I will eventually not want to use either. I say that because I don't really want to spend a ton on one of these unless there are substantial benefits.

Thanks in advance for the help.

This is not mine but, this is exactly what happened to both of mine, and is a VERY common problem
Here is a fix for it, glllllllllll
Thanks DD. I went back a few pages and looked at a lot of what you wrote. For some reason I thought these things were a lot more expensive so this was a good surprise to find out they weren't.
The 7-11 e-cigs are no cheaper than cigarettes. Get a simple kit like I linked and some juice, and you're way ahead of the money curve and your chances of quitting increase exponentially because the delivery device is better. Most juice vendors have starter kits, I know the Halo G6 kit is one that comes highly recommended and Halo juice is awesome. That is essentially a refillable N-Joy/Blue cig with a better juice selection.

I still recommend a Kanger EVOD or Ego kit, but the G6 is fine for starters also with a very short learning curve.

ETA: This might be helpful also

If you had a choice for starters, would you go with the Kanger EVOD starter or Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 Variable Volt/Watt APV Starter Kit?

Just found a local vape store, and another 35 miles away (home of wife's alma mater and we visit the town often), should I check compatibility of products first?

been cigarette free since my fiancee got me an iTaste mvp 2.0 battery for my birthday back in january. Now have an arsenal of 4 tanks (protank 3, aerotank, and iclear 30s) plus a bunch of different liquids (still trying to find my go-to daily juice). Have enjoyed a cherry limeaid the best so far-the citris taste was reproduced extremely well.

I've been off the analogs since January 5 and I wish I would have quit sooner. I love vaping. I'm using an iTaste VV/VW 3.0 and this thing rocks. Big difference between this and my starter kit ego batteries.

I have turned into a juice whore as I am currently sitting on about 250mls of juice, 16 different flavors. I have 5 B&M stores local but am not crazy about any of their juices. They are OK and will do in a pinch though. I've been buying sample packs online. I have 3 online vendors to share.

http://www.thevaporroom.net/

Great prices

http://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/

Located in Charlotte. Their Tropical Punch has become an All Day Vape for me.

http://www.goodlifevapor.com/

They are out of Albany , Ga.

Their Deadly Sin is like crack. Great stuff. I've read a lot of rave reviews for their El Kamino but haven't tried it yet. I will probably add that to my next sample pack. 4 10ml bottles for $20.

Today is one year since I picked up an ecigarette, and haven't had a real cigarette since. Feels awesome.
:hifive:
I went running with my dog yesterday. Running. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal to most people, but I smoked cigarettes for decades, and the idea of going for a run was so ludicrous I can't even explain it.
Absolutely. I began running after I quit (3 years ago) and have continued throughout. No way would I have been able to jog when I was a PAD smoker.

Picked up an iClear 30b tank yesterday at a new vape shop in Lexington. Absolutely love it. Use it with the itazte MVP battery, great vape.

I also recently cut down to 12mg nicotine after using 24mg for the first 2 years on ecigs. Hoping to eventually get to 6 then maybe zero. It's amazing not running out of breath walking up 2 flights of stairs at work. Wish these had come along 5 years ago.
