Just wanted to mention a couple things
1) The scoring changes are SO much better, IMO. The yellow card scoring change is a huge improvement as is the goals against. And, I'm digging the tackles/interceptions as it does show up as meaningful play and adds a bit more to the scoreboard. So far, excellent changes.
When you look at top 20 scorers so far, there are 7 forwards, 7 midfielders, 5 defenders, and 1 GK. And tops overall is a defender (
McAuley). That's excellent balance so far.
2) I would like to consider adding an extra roster spot. Benches have always felt tight and in a league that is so long with so many changes to lineups and the time that some good players can miss (like a month) without being droppable, an extra bench spot (or even 2) would be helpful. I know it reduces the pool of players available but there are still always guys you can plug in for 2 pts if need be.
3) Another one I meant to mention from the past that I forgot is wondering if there's a way to reward players that draw penalty kicks. IMO, those should be scored as an assist. If X player does all the work and draws a PK and then their top goal scorer slots it home, that player gets all the points for basically doing nothing while the guy who actually contributed far more gets nothing. I don't know if that's a stat that is tracked, but if it is, then giving 3 pts for that is something I think we should consider in the future.
Overall, this league is MUCH better this year than even just 4 yrs ago when I started. The ability to make lineup changes once starters are posted is HUGE. Now the scoring changes really have made a big difference for me.
