Explosions at Boston Marathon (1 Viewer)

I have to tear into Matt Lauer, just seems dumber and dumber as each crisis pops up. His opening words tonight were to tell us how awesome the hospitals are that everyone is being treated to tonight...just stop! Just interview people, tell us the facts but gushing over the hospitals in Boston is not a needed part of the story. Brian Williams now doing the same thing. NBC only network to interrupt 10PM shows to give an extra hour of coverage tonight, not even sure what they would show on NBC this time on a Monday. So no real arrests have been made?
He was giving suppport to the hospitals you #######. I wont even go any further into it. You're just a huge #######.
No he wasn't and I'm no gonna stoop to your level with the name calling. It's become the only thing you can do, very sad life you live.

For crying out loud!!!!! You guys are hung up on a SMALL FONT?!?!?!?
Then why did you change the font in that post? You are making LHUCKS look like a model poster here.
You're still hung up on it?!?!?!?
No...just find it pathetic that someone gets off acting like this on a message board.
If I have said something bannable, then get me banned. I accept it.

But if you're only issue is font size, then get a grip.
This is some fine backpedaling. Are you not man enough to admit you were trying to make a point?

Yeah, weird. When I first saw these I just assumed it was seconds after the explosion so nobody had been able to yet. But it really seems like people are just doing other things and there's not a lot of urgency. I'm not criticizing them or saying there wasn't urgency or anything like that, just saying the photos make it look like he was kinda ignored as people were clearly doing other things over a certain period of time without getting to him.

Also, it sure seems like there are at least 2-3 people that are dead in those photos, I'm a little surprised the death toll is only at 3 right now. Hopefully that is true and doesn't go any higher.
I'm sure it was chaotic, and you can't really tell from a still picture the "sense of urgency", but it's just weird to me that someone is taking a picture instead of putting a tourniquet on that guy's thigh.
:goodposting: I would probably smash the dude's camera and tell him to help or gtfo. Just can't understand that mentality.

I posted the point I was making. It wasn't anything near what people assumed it to be. There is a lot of oversensitivity in here. Even a post of "ball bearings" was assumed to be a comedic reference to a Chevy Chase scene from Fletch. There is a lot of overreacting going on in here.

Havent read much media coverage or watched much news, but this shows us how far we have come in 2013 that a blast that size (from video at least) only resulted in 3 deaths so far. The first responders/medical care had to be insanely good IMO. I understand that probably dozens will never have their limbs or certain abilities ever again, but my god the size of that blast and the amount of people present and only 3 deaths?

I knew if I posted anything in here that the dumbasses would start flying in...whatever. You all cannot just make points, report news, make observations, instead you all have to turn everything as personal as possible until you get a rise out of someone even in the face of human tragedy.

Sure I posted about Lauer, others in here have made little comments about Fox news and their anchors but I say something about Matt Lauer and some of you have to turn it into an OPP which is all it is to start tearing into me for whatever short comings you all have in your personal lives. It's very sad.

And now WBC is going to protest the funerals of those poor souls who didn't survive the bombings :( WTF is wrong with these #######s???
Errrr good luck with that, WBC.
Yeah, protesting a funeral of someone killed in Boston is going to be a little different than protesting a funeral of a soldier from a small town in Missouri.
They've done it all over the country in cities big and small and the worse that I can recall happening to them is Hell's Angels (among others) made a human chain in front of them to keep them away. And some minor vandalism. Maybe Boston will be different, but it seems everywhere they go someone says "You're gonna get it this time" and they never do. I wont be upset in the least if Boston breaks the ice, and of course every witness not being able to recall any details of the assailants, but I don't particularly expect it to be any different here than anywhere else these maggots have gone.

You are a terrible person. Can't believe they haven't banned your racist ###.

Looks like the people on reddit are offering to buy pizza for anyone housing runners and/or their families tonight. So awesome.

Especially if its a child...emotions will be running high...this WILL end badly

Showing your true colors Cliff and every other poster taking pot shots at me in this thread. We have a board full of cyber bullies in here. Despicable and I think the staff should be a lot more on top of this bull####.

How many posts with pots shots aimed at me? And for what exactly? Because I said Matt Lauer sounds like an idiot? This is still America last I checked, I have the right to express an opinion. That does not give you all the right to slam and slander the ever loving #### out of me every time you take a disagreement with my post no matter the topic. You all are the ones that need to look inward, not me.

Can we put a halt on any more of this for at least tonight? I think I am a good sport most of the time, let's all just dial it down a smidge, please.

Watching CNN, did they just say that they found an undetonated device under the grandstands??? Man if thats true it could've been waaay worse.

Boston police and a cadre of federal officials descended on an Ocean Avenue apartment complex in Revere.

In addition to two Boston Police K-9 units and a bomb squad unit, a large contingent of federal agents from the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as Homeland Security investigations and state police had assembled at the two buildings.

It was unclear whether the search was connected to the Boston Marathon bombings. Tight-lipped agents said nothing to assembled media. Worried building residents said they were left in the dark.

Marcus Worthington, 24, a building resident said no one has told him what was happening.

“I started noticing the cars, the Taurus there and that one about 5,” Worthington said. “We were thankful we decide not to go down. It’s best not to jump to conclusions.”

Worthington’s girlfriend Whitney Drake, 24, was concerned.

“It’s never a good thing to see all of these agencies. It’s more than a local problem,” Drake said.

Revere Fire Department engine and ladder arrived with Cataldo Ambulance service arrived about 10:30 p.m.

Officials had no comment when asked by reporters what was happening.

Boston Police Crime Scene Response unit which collects evidence following major crimes arrived and two members of that unit took several brown paper bags, normally used to store evidence taken from the scene, into the building.

I heard there were two devices that were not detonated. But every so called fact I have heard today has been rebuked later. I thought there was an explosion at the library, cell phone coverage turned off(that wasn't true), so much bad and misinformation today. Hard to sift thru it all.

That page of people offering places to stay is incredible. Boston stepping up.
There were posts from VT from people willing to drive down and pick anyone up that needs a place to stay. Crazy goodness going on
A lot of really great people out there. Also really touching to see the solidarity from other cities, saw a tweet saying that during the A's game instead of the "Let's Go A's" chant they broke out in a "Let's Go Boston" cheer. Really nice stuff.

The Boston emergency personnel/first responders/medical professionals are all amazing people. Some of the best in the world here working day and night trying to limit the damage.

Too many idiots easily and readily heard from thees days. Anyway, The library is at the finish line, correct, or right near it. Makes sense how they got that confused with being a part of the attack. It is strange that it happened at the same time though.

What was weird was that the police commissioner was the one that said whatever happened at the library was definitely an explosion in the presser he gave. But then a few minutes later the networks were reporting it was just a fire. But I guess things get mixed up even with LE when there is so much chaos.

OK JtC, that's fair. The people I was watching it with felt the same thing I did when it happened. It just seemed very added on, fake, and unnecessary when NBC started the 10 PM coverage. I was at work all day, I hadn't gotten much real news and I just didn't appreciate that part of his little speech.

I also did not like when Obama said in the 1st minute of his speech earlier today "We have no Republicans or Democrats today"...i wanted to throw up. It felt like a political advertisement for the US Government.

I feel bad that any of this came back on me, that was not the intent of the post.

Not near the finish line. Many miles away.

The networks are grabbing anything they can off twitter and then running with it like it is facts.

Boston Public Library is right there but unrelated. JFK library is at UMass which is quite a bit away.

That was definitely odd. Oh he confirmed it saying there's been a 3rd explosion at the library, I was  . I understand it's chaos and confusing, but for the Commissioner to throw something like that out there?

To clear up the confusion ...

The finish line is in front of the Boston Public Library.

The other "incident" in question was at the JFK Library, which is a couple of miles away.

As described on Reddit, when there is a disaster, a triage is set-up. Usually they catergorize the people in 3 ways

1. Those injured who don't have life threatening injuries

2.Those seriously injured who will survive with the help of medical attention

3. Those who probably cannot survive even with help of medical attention

So basically disregard 1&3 until 2 is getting proper medical treatment

I'm assuming thats what is going on.

Hope he pulls through

Ohhh ok, yep thought they were one in the same. My bad, thanks.

My cousin is an ER doc and went down to Haiti immediately after the earthquake. He described the same thing and how tough it was to not tend to someone who was most likely going to die, in order to care for those that he could. Not saying this is the same thing, but emergency responders have to make split decisions as to who is most "deserving" of their care. Ugh

Just checked my emails. My company's offices which are a block from the bomb site will likely to be closed tomorrow due to the Copley Sq. area being a non-access zone.

Hmmm...

The source said that a suspicious driver was pulled over by Revere police after driving past the State Police barracks a number of times.

The driver reportedly had a "nervous demeanor."
I am taking this to mean it's a guy who had something to tell the police, and wasn't sure if he should go through with it.

Accurate?

That stuck out like a sore thumb. Wasn't sure what to make of it but can't think the idiot was this dumb.
