FanDuel/DraftKings Week 10 (1 Viewer)

Millionaire Maker got 52,895 players. They're giving away $384,200, which is over $7 per entry.
Do you see the Millionaire Maker being sustainable financially for DK? I mean if there eating hundreds of thousands of dollars every week how can they continue it? I know I've done my best to help them sustain it as I've dropped all of my HTH/50/50 winnings on it so far, about $500. I'm playing at most one lineup a week in it from now on. Still think it's a lot of fun even though it's cost me some $$.
They'd been giving away around $70K in previous weeks when the contest was $27 to enter. They bumped it to $40 last week and it was kind of a disaster. They're going back to $27 this week.

I think it's kind of stupid to have top prize be $1 million when the entire prize pool is only $2.5 million. If they made top prize $500K like FanDuel does, it'd be a lot better and they'd get more people to enter.

But as long as they keep losing only around $70K per week (about $1 per entry), that should be perfectly sustainable for them.

How is it on FanDuel that "bigpapi44" has two entries with differences that are #1 and #3 in the big one this week as of right now.

Is that not odd to anyone?
It would be weirder if there were no differences.
I have been seeing this a lot on FantasyUp. Multiple entries from the same exact name that are the exact same lineups in guaranteed tournaments. Smells funny to me...like someone with an interest in the company is placing a ton of entries to keep the guaranteed payouts down. I cant really see much of a reason to enter the same lineup in the same tournament multiple times. Am I off base here? Is this a strategy?

Aside from this little issue, the site takes no rake until April (starting up), which is awesome. They also have small overlays pretty frequently, but I think they are trying to minimize this internally if I am reading this right, which is a little bogus.
People have always done this. I think it's generally better (for reasons having to do with rake) to enter a lineup in a single $10 tournament than to enter it five times in a $2 tournament, but sometimes there aren't enough $10 tournaments available, so finding a multi-entry $2 tournament is a decent substitute.

I didn't mean it was weird to have multiple entries from the same person with no differences. I meant it would be weird if that happened and he was in first and third place, but not second.

I saw they've already changed it back to the $27 entrance fee, thankfully. They don't wanna take that kind of hit again I'm sure.
It will be interesting to see how it fills next week, the last $27 one they ran only had 73,170 entrants so they lost $224k on that tournament, which prompted them to do the $40 experiment. I think a lot of people who skipped it at $40 might try it again at $27 so it may fill a little better this next week, but if they keep running it every week I see them taking a similar hit most weeks from here on out, although now that there are lots of NBA satellites during the week those may help it fill better too.

Are there particular #'s, stats, strategys some of you employ to consistently find the right combos in GPP's?? I can identify value, but for whatever reason, I can't seem to identify the RIGHT ones in the right weeks. For example, this is the 2nd week in a row I have been bitten by Rainey...I just don't get it, he had GREAT matchups both weeks..Particularly this week. Yet he was a dud. I tend to spend up for WR's every week, Jordy, Brown etc, and it seems like that's the wrong strategy, as the lower priced guys always seem to match or exceed those guys's production. I play the matchups a lot, but that never seems to work out for me the way I hope. I typically really like my team, then the actual games start... Like this week, I took a swing for the fences play in Mettenberger..with that terrible Baltimore secondary, I figured he was a lock for 2 TD's(especially because I anticipated them having to throw, playing from behind), and about 250 yds, which would have been perfect....yet, he bombed. I stayed away from McCown because I didn't think he was going ot meet the expectations people had for him and plus figured he'd be higher owned, yet he worked out. I just don't get it...I do know my strategy of going with a cheaper QB every week is definitely NOT working, that's one problem...But I must not be looking at the right #'s or something. Use FBG Value charts and everything. PFF detailed stats on passing defenses etc...I don't know how I can miss so badly all the time. It's frustrating.
For me...no. This was my first good week of the season, but it does coincide with a switch in my approach. I used to shoot for value at QB, but I have changed course and have been willing to buy Manning and Rodgers (had both in different tournaments yesterday) and then try to pair them with one of their WRs or TEs. Other than that, try to find the good looking matchups using the Vegas value chart that gets posted here each week and then hope to get lucky.

Going into tonight's game, I had 178.8 points in the Sunday Million.. good at the time for 55th place and a payout of $1,250. I also have Adams going.

My dreams have been slowly crushed however as Rodgers has proceeded to do everything but get him the ball. Now sitting in 195th place and will drop MUCH more tomorrow night. :(

I just wanted a top 10.. would have been MORE than thrilled with that. I'll keep dreaming.... But man, what a terrible half of football for my DFS.

(I do have Rodgers in 1/2 my cash games though, so it's paying off there)
I was in the 40's at kickoff...down to 106 now but have mccoy going tomorrow. currently sitting at 213.08 points -- only 30 points from 1st but i'm sure there are folks loaded up on tomorrows game.

anyway...here's hoping for a low scoring second half and a 200 yd, 4 td game from mccoy
hatin me some sproles right now...

Shady in 80% of my line ups, Cam my top QB for big GPPs.... In a week where I nailed the vast majority of my picks, those two are going to cost me a lot of money. Still might break even, but going into tonight I had a shot at a big pay day.

I have about 20 daily teams going right now, just about everything that happens helps me. I just wish it all helped the same team.

I haven't been able to catch a break in these Sunday and Monday night games. Nelson helped me in many iterations, but the non-performing guys have hurt far more.

I'm not that bummed about rolling with KB in a plus match-up. He clearly has an elite ceiling and is also clearing extremely high variance. For $4200, I still think he was worth the gamble.

KB's second td took me from a big $500 profit down to $100. Even ended up missing in a 50/50 with a score of 136 because of it.

At least I picked up 4 more tix for the fbgs contest

####. I made one change to my fbg champ lineups right before 1 pm. Folk ilo Matt Bryant. Without that change I'm 0.2 above cut and $60 richer.

I think I won money and placed in several Touney's on DK but I can't tell. I don't see my entries or where I placed or what money. I am a bit buzzed tho...

Perfect storm of negativity for me the last 2 games. A 12% loss in a week that saw me up 2267% late in the Sunday afternoon games. Just a sea of bad outcomes, almost good enoughs (my players), and just a little too goods (everyone else's players).

Bah Shady....you dragged me down again. Between that and getting nothing from Davante Adams in a game where everyone on GB got something and I didn't win much. Thought sort of hitting on the McCown/Evans combo was gonna be the winning ticket for me this week!

yuck..yuck and more yuck.. Played $24 in 5 different games.. As of right now my only winnings are in the $5 double up, so almost half back..

My only hope is that Sanchez and Kelvin Benjamin go off big tonight so my Quintuple Play of $5 pays off at $25..

Oh and had my worst week of the year in the FBG.. Currently 918th :bag:
Thanks to Sanchez and Late garbage TD's by Kelvin I won in the $5 Quintuple Up to end up with a $13.50 Profit for the week..

I know it doesn't sound like much to the big spenders here.. But when you bet $24 and win $37.50 it feels good :)

After the complete disaster in the FBG this week, where I ended up 987 out of 1000 :bag: I'm very happy to end up with some winnings.

Wow, crazy night. Before MNF I was up by over $300 for the week. After MNF I ended up with only my second losing week of the year:

Code:
Wk	Entered	Winnings	Net ROI1	$224 $335.00 $111.00 49.6%2	$208 $315.00 $107.00 51.4%3	$377 $311.60 ($65.40) -17.3%4	$419 $633.80 $214.80 51.3%5	$392 $413.80 $21.80 5.6%6	$540 $626.40 $86.40 16.0%7	$500 $682.80 $182.80 36.6%8	$513 $568.50 $55.50 10.8%9	$620 $760.00 $140.00 22.6%10	$578 $506.40 ($71.60) -12.4%
Oh well, onto week 11.

Finished down 36% :bag: First losing week of the year. Would have been much worse if not for Sanchez/Benjamin last night.

I only enter one millionare maker line-up a week and started draft kings 3 weeks ago. So far I've placed 5732 with 205.12 points, 633 with 209.76 points and 260 this week with 225.78. The EV is usually #### though, so I don't know why I do this. You have to go beyond perfect to win big money.
