I wonder why every game has a time for week 18 but not Cincy/Baltimore.

I agree, if the game is cancelled (it is) then thats it, 0 points from that game and the 2022 ff season is over. If home lgs want to try something else fine, but it is no brainer for mid and high stakes lgs, the game is cancelled, playoffs are over. It stinks, hurts me in some, helps in others, but there really is no other option.

I guess in public leagues with thousands of competitors there likely isn't another simple option. But for private leagues there is a simple solution. Use Week 18 pts for week 17 for the Buf/Cin players. It is simple and easy to figure out. If they decide after week 18 to resume the suspended game in week 19 then those stats will count for week 17. Straightforward and simple. This is the option.

Except if Allen or Diggs or Burrow or someone goes down in week 18 with injury then they play week 19 then what ? They get a 0 ?

How is that any different than just giving them a zero now? At least they have a chance. Or the other option is that if one of those players gets injured then you can pick up an available player and put them in just like you would if this was week 12 going to week 13.

I had to step in for several commissioners who were actually playing in the Final

I think this is reasonable in any case where the result was still in doubt. There are some cases in some of my leagues where the results weren't in doubt. Worse....I'm in several large leagues that went with a four team play-all format for the Championship instead of playing week one with teams on byes. In one of those leagues for example, I went into the game in second and couldn't win, also couldn't be 4th...but I could be 2nd or 3rd. Meanwhile another guy COULD (with a big game from Allen) have jumped to 1st, or could have stayed third. A three way split is no bueno as I couldn't win...no good way to split this.

Shouldn't really matter what a national site says. No league I'm in is going to care about that. It's up to the commish to come up with a fair solution with input from the league if necessary.

Whenever they play what? In week 18? A makeup game? If the makeup/continuation game, what are you going to do when that game or remainder of game doesn’t happen?

If they play in week 19, then I'll apply week 19 stats for that game to week 17 player scores. If they cancel the game, then they split the championship game and money, unless someone concedes. In one of my leagues I have Josh Allen, Mixon, and Gabe Davis and he has none and I trail by 6 points, so one would think he would concede.

Since nothing about this situation is "fair" I am trying to come up with a solution that gives the players that were supposed to play last night an opportunity to play and give their fantasy squads a game's worth of points. By using the week 18 game for week 17 (if the suspended game is not resumed) that is accomplished. It is not ideal and you can poke holes in it like what if Allen doesn't play because the game is meaningless to the Bills but it is still better and more "fair" then just calling week 17 over and giving the Allen owner nothing.

I don't envision this as being the end all be all rule for now until forever but it can should be used as some sort of example for future situation. This could end up being a mess regarless and we realize that this wasn't the right answer (although I highly doubt that).

What other problems are you opening up? I am curious what affording the Bills/Bengals fantasy players an opportunity to accrue points by using their next game instead of just giving them a zero will bring. It's not like anybody knows how week 18 will turn out. There is no advantage given unless you believe this should be treated like all other Bills/Bengals players were injured at the 5 minute mark of the first quarter and they are all just SOL. That is not what happened so I don't really believe that is a fair solution either.

Why not use week 18 stats if the original game never resumes? It's better than a split as the players get a chance to play.

That's correct but perhaps what Dez is alluding to is if week 17 is over, and we are told it is, then we got all the results we are going to get so why the continued lack of setting a time?

So my league is leaving it up to the 2 teams in the LCG to decide how to settle it.

At the moment we’re considering (if the week 17 game is not resumed) letting the stats for those players week 18 retroactively apply to week 17.

That seems both reasonable and fair, provided no players are benched for either team.

If that happens we’ll do some sort of split.

For the dynasty work league that I commish, i went ahead with what I suggested above (manually added Avg PPG for each Buff and Cinci player in the championship game scores for each team) and that is now the final result of the champioinship. In my league‘s case, it was 3 players (Burrow, Mixon, Higgins) against 1 player (Allen) in a game that was only separated by <5 points, and the eventual 2nd place team was first to suggest that he take 2nd since he knew he was going to lose.

Actually, the only push back was from our eventual champ who wanted it to play out for real with week 18 stats just to not end the season on this odd note, but I overrode his “objection” since I didn’t want to deal with any these 4 players potentially sitting out their week 18 games, so I just made the scoring change and we’re done.

An odd way to end the season, but we all know each other from work and other long time leagues, so it’s all good.

ETA: thankfully our 3rd/4th place game was already done before the MNF game.

I'm giving the option to do this or to elevate bench players to starters best ball style for the players with zeros since these players essentially had a bye this week. There are too many other things to consider by waiting until the next game. My two leagues are not money leagues, however. I feel comfortable making this a rule in the off-season.

If the NFL counts the stats from last night Mixon gets 1 Singletary 0. If the NFL does not count the stats neither player gets anything. Either way Team A wins in your scenario

League software does it and I can't change the amount of games in the season at this point.

Unlikely championship or 3rd place game is affected as both leaders are up pretty good but both teams have quite a few players involved so would like to see it play out
