Except if Allen or Diggs or Burrow or someone goes down in week 18 with injury then they play week 19 then what ? They get a 0 ?I guess in public leagues with thousands of competitors there likely isn't another simple option. But for private leagues there is a simple solution. Use Week 18 pts for week 17 for the Buf/Cin players. It is simple and easy to figure out. If they decide after week 18 to resume the suspended game in week 19 then those stats will count for week 17. Straightforward and simple. This is the option.I agree, if the game is cancelled (it is) then thats it, 0 points from that game and the 2022 ff season is over. If home lgs want to try something else fine, but it is no brainer for mid and high stakes lgs, the game is cancelled, playoffs are over. It stinks, hurts me in some, helps in others, but there really is no other option.
How is that any different than just giving them a zero now? At least they have a chance. Or the other option is that if one of those players gets injured then you can pick up an available player and put them in just like you would if this was week 12 going to week 13.Except if Allen or Diggs or Burrow or someone goes down in week 18 with injury then they play week 19 then what ? They get a 0 ?

I think this is reasonable in any case where the result was still in doubt. There are some cases in some of my leagues where the results weren't in doubt. Worse....I'm in several large leagues that went with a four team play-all format for the Championship instead of playing week one with teams on byes. In one of those leagues for example, I went into the game in second and couldn't win, also couldn't be 4th...but I could be 2nd or 3rd. Meanwhile another guy COULD (with a big game from Allen) have jumped to 1st, or could have stayed third. A three way split is no bueno as I couldn't win...no good way to split this.Money is getting split down the middle between the two teams that were competing in the Championship game
I had to step in for several commissioners who were actually playing in the Final
Nobody has gotten salty or mad yet, in fact both teams/managers seemed more than agreeable to it
I personally wanted to see teams do a replay in Week 18 but that was not a popular move
It was my first thought last night, 1st and 2nd would be added together and split
That's exactly what has happened in all of my leagues so far
Nobody seems to want to play next week
Whenever they play what? In week 18? A makeup game? If the makeup/continuation game, what are you going to do when that game or remainder of game doesn’t happen?OK, here is what I'm going to do. I will apply just the Bengals / Bills stats whenever they play to the week 17 Player adjust score. In MFL this is under ADJUST SCORES and STANDINGS.
They’re not finishing this game imo. There’s no timeOK, here is what I'm going to do. I will apply just the Bengals / Bills stats whenever they play to the week 17 Player adjust score. In MFL this is under ADJUST SCORES and STANDINGS.
Shouldn't really matter what a national site says. No league I'm in is going to care about that. It's up to the commish to come up with a fair solution with input from the league if necessary.A friend of mine just told me a national site he plays on just sent an e-mail saying week 17 is over, since last nights game is not official it is considered not to have played in week 17.
Scores showing are considered final
If they play in week 19, then I'll apply week 19 stats for that game to week 17 player scores. If they cancel the game, then they split the championship game and money, unless someone concedes. In one of my leagues I have Josh Allen, Mixon, and Gabe Davis and he has none and I trail by 6 points, so one would think he would concede.Whenever they play what? In week 18? A makeup game? Seems unfair if you have a player like Allen and have a decent lead in the game and then Allen gets hurt next week. How is that any different than just giving them a zero now? At least they have a chance. Well it matters to people playing on these sitesShouldn't really matter what a national site says. No league I'm in is going to care about that. Since nothing about this situation is "fair" I am trying to come up with a solution that gives the players that were supposed to play last night an opportunity to play and give their fantasy squads a game's worth of points. By using the week 18 game for week 17 (if the suspended game is not resumed) that is accomplished. It is not ideal and you can poke holes in it like what if Allen doesn't play because the game is meaningless to the Bills but it is still better and more "fair" then just calling week 17 over and giving the Allen owner nothing.Seems unfair if you have a player like Allen and have a decent lead in the game and then Allen gets hurt next week.
Any pushing of games out into different weeks has other consequences that may occur, that are not fair either.
How do you handle this situation if its your last week of regular season and it affects who makes your playoffs? Not as easy to wait for the game to be replayed.
Also are you going to create a rule that is unique to the situation at hand or one that you plan to have a precedent for if it happens again?
IMO games should be made up same week or you are just opening up to other problems.
I know it will be a pain but you can go through the play by play and total it by hand.I'm going to use the stats from week 18. One problem is that I give points for first downs which aren't shown in box scores. Any sites that show who got the first downs in a game?
Link?I'm hearing week 19.They’re not finishing this game imo. There’s no timeOK, here is what I'm going to do. I will apply just the Bengals / Bills stats whenever they play to the week 17 Player adjust score. In MFL this is under ADJUST SCORES and STANDINGS.
Why not use week 18 stats if the original game never resumes? It's better than a split as the players get a chance to play.If they play in week 19, then I'll apply week 19 stats for that game to week 17 player scores. If they cancel the game, then they split the championship game and money, unless someone concedes. I believe the game time was TBD pending the outcome of The Bills/Bengals game. Has nothing to do with last nights tragedyI wonder why every game has a time for week 18 but not Cincy/Baltimore.
That's correct but perhaps what Dez is alluding to is if week 17 is over, and we are told it is, then we got all the results we are going to get so why the continued lack of setting a time?I believe the game time was TBD pending the outcome of The Bills/Bengals game. WEEK 17 FINAL STATS |
---|
The final stats for week 17 have been processed now, and your league standings have been updated. The stats do not include the partial game stats from the Monday night Bengals-Bills game since the NFL declared that the game will not be played this week. Should the NFL reschedule this game at a later date those stats will be applied to that week. |

Because The Bills/Bengals game is still a no result and the time of the next Bengals game was predicated on that game? Just guessing here. That's correct but perhaps what Dez is alluding to is if week 17 is over, and we are told it is, then we got all the results we are going to get so why the continued lack of setting a time?I believe the game time was TBD pending the outcome of The Bills/Bengals game. I like A & B. C sucks imo.I see 3 possible options, my order of preference.
A- if the game projects to be fairly close and both teams agree- split the pot
B- keep week 17 total minus the Bills & Bengals players involved and apply their score from week 18 to the rest of week 17
C- MFL for example did not include any scoring for the Monday night game, whichever total they list for the week is the outcome unless the game is made up
Team A should get the victory, and if Team B disputes that then he/she sucks at life.Well..... I have a real good Championship Game situation for you all to see and hear....... A real doozy.....
Before the Buff/Cincy game:
Team A has 119.08
Team B has 122.32
Team B has no one left. No player in the Buff/Cincy game.
Stays at 122.32 points
Team A has Tyler Boyd left. Boyd scores the TD.
Gets 7.90 points
Goes to 126,98 points.
Now what??????!!!!!
How should this situation be handled if the game is not resumed?????

Just to throw another wrench in the story........
I am Team A
And I am the Commissioner.
Just ask the league to decide if you don't want to come out and make the decision. It seems like a no brainer to me and if they don't award you the victory, your league truly sucksTeam A should get the victory, and if Team B disputes that then he/she sucks at life.Well..... Yeah - for the purposes of that LCG, the game was over for everyone once Boyd caught the TD.With the Boyd situation, that's a no brainer. It happened on the field, and the guy should get his win.
Check the Yahoo app, go to play by play. It shows every 1st down.My league does this. Who are you looking for?I'm going to use the stats from week 18. One problem is that I give points for first downs which aren't shown in box scores. Any sites that show who got the first downs in a game?
I'm giving the option to do this or to elevate bench players to starters best ball style for the players with zeros since these players essentially had a bye this week. There are too many other things to consider by waiting until the next game. My two leagues are not money leagues, however. I feel comfortable making this a rule in the off-season.take the season average per game points, and apply. If it's within 5 point margin of victory, split the pot.
What do you do during a normal week to calculate 1st downs? Maybe I'm missing something but why can't you do the same thing?I'm going to use the stats from week 18. One problem is that I give points for first downs which aren't shown in box scores. Any sites that show who got the first downs in a game?
If the NFL counts the stats from last night Mixon gets 1 Singletary 0. If the NFL does not count the stats neither player gets anything. Either way Team A wins in your scenarioTeam a A had 155.5 and had Mixon going last night.
Team B had 154.5 and had Singletary going last night.
Both players touched the ball, and at the time the game was called Mixon had scored 1 and Singletary 0. Team A wins?
League software does it and I can't change the amount of games in the season at this point. What do you do during a normal week to calculate 1st downs?
