Got it. We're moving ahead. Does it always default to making the invitee playing white? This happened with Nick's first invitation to me, and now my invitation to Cranks. Maybe black should be the initiator?

Yeah, Crank and I are up and going. I was able to threaten with a couple early attacks, but he smartly fought them off.

eta: Cranks beats tri-man in Round 2. Despite losing some firepower midround, I was able to mount another attack on his king. But a couple more solid responses shut me down again, and by then, I was too low on pieces. A blunder cost me my queen, but the damage was already done. In reality, a very early mistake that cost me a bishop and allowed Cranks to safely set up his bishop with a clean look through the center of my defense proved to be too much to overcome. :sigh:
