Yup, i'm gone at 125..I fixed the Semi Live Scoring App so the load times shouldnt be nearly as bad for those left in it.Also, for those that have been asking, I finally got to a point where I thought I could do a projected cut, but my sample size is too small, combined with the people that are actually using this are limited to people that are still in/interested in the contest.There are about 200 active teams in the DB and a cut similar to today's 2300 would be around the top 21%, or 40 people in my DB. It is drastically off at 195.5...If I do this for FBG next year and I am able to work with the subscriber teams DB, we will be able to have live projected cutoffs also Good luck to those still in it.

Don't you mean the cut would be the bottom 21% (or the bottom 40 in your DB) ? Surely you don't have 160 of your 200 DB teams going over 195.5 points.

I'm tired and its late, but wouldnt it be like this?FBG top 21% of 11k = 2300 ishtop 21% of 200 = 40 ishIf I cut the bottom 40 out, that still leaves 160..I just ran a quick check keeping the top 160 and it came up at 131.25. Closer, but still really tough to project with such a small base IMO.

Well I am 238.65 however I think there is a small bug. It is counting Eric Johnson 8.70 as my flex instead of Reggie Bush 27.00. My calculations have me at 256.95 No biggie just really appreciative of the time you have taken to create this application. T

I think you are reading this wrong. My understanding is only 8% of the alive teams own Brady. Of those 40.1% of them are alive.

Nope you're reading it wrong. Only 8% of the entries left in the contest have Brady. 40.1% of the people who started the contest with Brady are still alive. You're right though in thinking that it's very likely this number will decrease considerably with the stiff 30% or so cut down this week.-QG

I respectfully disagree, Garrard and Brees are the most widely held QB's and are capable of strongly influencing the cut . Only 8% of rosters hold Brady (%own=100*Total LIVE entries with player/total LIVE entries per DD definition). 40.1% is the survival rate of those that originally had him, which basically states that with only 20% of the original crew still alive, that those owning Brady are surviving at 2x the rest of the field. The stuff to pull from this data is it is sorted by %live, which shows that if you have guys on the top of this list, you can thank yourself for those guys carrying you. If you also own them and they are a low %own, you are in a good position because they are more unique and won't help as many others. At this stage if you have a lot of guys like this, you have a great shot at doing damage in the finals.Conversely, if you have a lot of guys with a high %own, you can feel good that if one does badly it won't hurt you a lot because it is hurting several others counting on them also. I never understood why a lot of folks subscribe to the theory of "I don't want 'X' because everyone has him and I will do better when he has a bad day and kills his owners". While it may be true that you won't distance yourself from the crowd with him, or other popular players capable of putting up respecatable numbers (like AD), if he does go off and 40% of the rosters have him, you had better have a good response because 40% of everyone else gets his points.Personally, I feel best when a high cost player (relative to their position) capable of huge days (like LT or Gates) gets shut down, as those that have them likely have depth issues due to then deal with. Yup, i'm gone at 125..I fixed the Semi Live Scoring App so the load times shouldnt be nearly as bad for those left in it.Also, for those that have been asking, I finally got to a point where I thought I could do a projected cut, but my sample size is too small, combined with the people that are actually using this are limited to people that are still in/interested in the contest.There are about 200 active teams in the DB and a cut similar to today's 2300 would be around the top 21%, or 40 people in my DB. It is drastically off at 195.5...If I do this for FBG next year and I am able to work with the subscriber teams DB, we will be able to have live projected cutoffs also Good luck to those still in it.

Don't you mean the cut would be the bottom 21% (or the bottom 40 in your DB) ? Surely you don't have 160 of your 200 DB teams going over 195.5 points.

Your cut projection should be based on % advancing from the previous week, which was 74% this week (2300/3100). You used 79% and got 131 points, so using top 74% the number would rise somewhat. Won't be perfect, but would be a barometer at least. Next week will be top 70% (1600/2300). I expect the cut number to drop next week from this week, but not a lot since we are advancing 4% less. As long as scoring returns to "normal", the cut should go back to somewhere in the 130's to mid 140's. Once we lose the bye weeks though and get to less than 65% moving on, all bets are off and the cuts are going to skyrocket...

Ok, I was approaching it completely wrong.Using the 74% marker it was much closer (136.85). I can try that next week and see where things are for you guys. Fudging it a little (70%) gets us a little closer (145).

Survived at about 160 pts. Averaging 181 but trending way down the last 3 weeks (146, 122, and 160) and I'm afraid I will be out next week unless things change. Welker my only bye for coming week. Hopefully C Henry starting week 10 will help. If I remember right, the Excel program was available for download (or was this something else?) and though I've input my team online, I'd love to analyse the teams later.

Anyone know what the top averages are? Just curious.

If I get time at work this week, I'm planning on doing a power ranking of the remaining teams to see who's who in the remaining field. I did it in the past it will just take some time setting up the stats for all the different rosters remaining. The more I look at my team, the better I like my chances, even though I don't have any really "unique" players. Anyone else finishing in the cash last year (defined as getting a FBG check, even for a low amount) still alive? I'm thinking it is VERY difficult to get into the finals, much less do it as a repeat...

I finished 13th last year and I'm still alive...how, I don't know. I do know you need a lot of luck and some players going off at opportune times.

Looks like I ended up with very few unique players. I have 9 of the top 10 owned players. Looking for an edge, it would be nice to whittle down the Ben Watson owners this week. I don't expect too many Wes Welker, David Garrard, Eric Johnson, or Patrick Crayton owners to disappear, because those guys were all low dollar players. I certainly won't gain an edge at WR, because I have 5 of the most common 6.

By far, the best unique player to have seems to be Derek Anderson. He was only $4, so I am guessing the remaining 2 people who own him have at least 2 other nice QB options on their squad. Also, there are only 7 remaining Portis owners (at $41, those 7 people sure had some large cajones).
