FBG Contest Team Status Updates Page (2 Viewers)

I survived the week with no qb, te, or k.

I am hopefully getting Young and Alex Smith back at qb. I hope Ben Watson a speedy recovery.

Can this contest be won without paying homage to the "TE friendly" nature of the scoring system?

My TEs:

Bubba Franks, Marcus Pollard (Franks is hobbled, Pollard out for 2 weeks +? w/ orthroscopic surgery).

Two weeks ago I racked up 216 points with 5.5 from the TE position. Last week I totalled 188 points with ZERO at TE.

I basically abandoned the TE position to load up on studs (Brady, Addai, Bush, TO, TJHoush). I've also benefited from solid production from Welker, Morris, Northcutt, 3 kickers and 3 defenses.

Not overly confident going forward, but the approach is definitely "contrarian".

Kudos to the thought that went into setting up the scoring system this year; there are many different ways to play it. :coffee:

I love the TE freindly socring...my strategy was get one stud and 2 on the upswing = Winslow, Scaife (mostly a bust this year so far), Lee.........I'm still in and I have used 2 of the 3 TE's scores in 4 out of 7 weeks.

I went TE strong with Gates, Watson, E.Johnson and what I thought was going to be a good play in D. Graham.

Between the TEs, Edwards and one of my QB's Kitna/Garrad/Garcia, they have been pulling me through this.

Looks like it could be a low number for the cut this week.
This is another big bye week with six teams on bye, and lots of fantasy studs out. Good luck to the squads with key players on bye.Currently standing at around 173 with B. Marshall (-7.5) to go. I will see you all in week 9.

If scoring is like last week, it would result in a cut of about 128. I wouldn't be surprised with anything from about 115-130 this week, since we have 2 more teams on bye. A few players put up big numbers, but not a huge amount. After sweating a LONG time this week, the Lee Evans TD late looks to have been my saving grace. In the barn here with 143.4 if all my calculations are right. This is my big bye week with 5 players off, and only 1 QB, 1 PK and 1 DEF going (although the QB problem looks to be ongoing with Garrard out...go PEYTON.....beat up the Pats!). I don't really think I have anything to worry about, but this will easily be the closest I have been to the cut all year. Before this week, I've been better than 30+ every week. Good luck to the 3099 of the rest of you next week...the cut points are going to really start climbing from here on in!

I'm done at 158.3 --- thinking that should be enough to slide me into Week 9 (fingers crossed)

Jacoby Jones was finally counted for the first time this year (10.1 points), and now I'm left with only Tony Hunt and Anthony Thomas as my lone non-contributors this season. And I'm expecting it to remain that way.

Whew! On to week 9.

Had Schaub as my only qb, and he got me 1.85 points. He was my only player I had not used. Not to mention my top rb and te on bye, and Cadillac and Sammy out, only 1 te, k, and defense to use,

I'm amazed.

About 140. Could be close for me (anyone think the cutoff could be that high?). And thank you to Drew Brees for stepping it up just in time...

165 and done. Hoping Garrard returns before week 10.

Brady should still be good for 20 even if he is on bye.

Here's something to look at when evaluating your team's chances...

Considering you need to only be in the top 50% in the hardest weeks, as long as you are consistently in the top 50% you should have a good shot at the finals. You can figure this for yourself by looking back at your weekly positional placement vs. the size of the field that week (which has been a few players over the planned number with ties). Here's how many made it every week...in case you want to check your team

11792 11792 10001 8502 7252 6101 5000

My worst week so far (until this week more than likely) was week 3 where I was only in the top 31%. Other than that, I've done quite well. With this consistency, and byes almost over, I feel pretty good about my team getting to the home stretch. Doesn't say much about my chances to win in the end, and obviously all you need to do is limp in to the end and have a couple of unpopular players that have a nice 4 game run.

Just another way to break things down as we wait until Tuesday morning to see who lives and who gets the boot...

Well, it was a good run. I was never really close to any of the cuts, but LJ, Gonzo, & Crayton on bye weeks left me at 120. I guess there is the slim chance D. Driver tears it up tomorrow (stay out Bailey!).

Unofficial: if there were no MNF, the 3100th-highest score would be 112.90.
That's what I call service! Thanks DD!Looks like the final should be somewhere right around 120 if things stay on form. Shouldn't have a big bump tomorrow at all due to the lack of popular players.

My WR core is really clicking right now. 150+ this week.

Evans (finally)

Galloway

Holmes

Edwards

Need them to pull along my RBs

Green

Jacobs

Lynch

Foster

2 out of 3 QBs lost for the season to IR and the 3rd is Garrard. :goodposting: Don't know how much longer I can hang on without a QB, but still alive and kicking. 147.40 + GB defense (-6.00)

I'm around 148, but need Peyton Manning to step it up and keep giving good production. This week was nice, but overall, I expected a bit more out of him. Looks like Garrard and Harrington might not be good backups for me anymore ...
