As I said earlier, I think Auction content is an area we're doing pretty well with. The content from Drew is foundational and from the tech side, the algorithms driving all our custom auction values that move  based on league situations, scoring system and other factors is a key part. And of course the Draft Dominator App.

I have to disagree as I think our Auction content gives fantasy players a significant edge. Our ability to create custom values based on the league situation is a huge advantage. 

But we are totally open to more ideas. Do you have thoughts on other Auction content you'd like to see? We obviously can't do everything everyone wants, but if you've got some specific content in mind, please let us know. Thanks.

You've said the auction content can't grow much more. I tend to agree. But you state it is in the higher plan because of needed resources. It doesn't sound like you plan to add any resources. The auction value algorithms have been in place for many years. So something doesn't add up. The work has already been done. The articles don't change. The strategies are not ground breaking. And the algorithms are in place. Simply plug in the projections that have already been done for standard redraft and that's it. 

In the big picture, it doesn't matter. I already paid. But I think the rationale behind placing auction content in the higher tier is flawed.

Sorry to hear you think our Dynasty content isn't worth the value. I strongly disagree but thank you for sharing. Our plan this year is making our Dynasty content a fantastic value and we'll do our best there to make that happen. We also think including the mobile apps this year that were a $15.99 cost last year is a signficant value. But obviously not everyone will agree and that's life.

You're still of course welcome to use the forums here which are free to discuss fantasy football. And maybe you'll give us a shot at a later time. Thanks.

Your rookie draft stuff is great now. But, and I know this is not easy, a lot of dynasty leagues start their rookie drafts the monday after the draft weekend. And at that time, the FBG cupboard was pretty bare aside from the predraft bloom 100. I know having a full "100" or big time across-the-board rankings is impossible that fast, but with rounds 1 and 2  in the books Friday night, and round 3 Saturday afternoon, an offensive top 15 with some commentary from one or two guys is probably pretty do-able.

Thank you. And agreed. We jumped into starting to expand the rookie content last month. We know for sure as the calendar rolls on, we need to have lots more content earlier in the calendar year and that's the plan going forward.

I'm sorry Joe but it does not feel like you're including them, it feels like you're forcing them.  I'd consider your packages more if they were $15 cheaper without apps I have no need or desire to use.  But it is what it is.  Thanks for listening and wish you all well.

We did that in past years and it was a huge problem with the confusion and complaint about why we'd ask people to pay for the mobile app in addition to the subscription. We weighed it out for a few years and decided including the mobile apps in the paid subscription was what we wanted to do. And for sure we realize not everyone will agree with us. I've said for a long time, I don't know we're doing it the perfect way. We're just trying to do it the way we see as best.

Not sure why it would be confusing to include a plan with the mobile apps and the same without the apps for those who don't use them. The plan with the mobile apps could reflect a savings to the customer over purchasing a plan and the mobile apps separately. For example, a Pro + plan (with apps) for $20 over the cost of a Pro plan (without apps).

Anyway, like you said you're (FBG) going to do what you want to do. Just throwing my two cents out there.

Hearing what everyone wants is how we decide what to do. I do think it's important to note, what "we want to do" is what we think is best for all of us. It's definitely not always what everyone wants. There's zero way to make sure we do that. Thanks again for the insight.

I would of signed up for the $50 plan which was already an increase if it included the Rookie and Dynasty Rankings

 
I just joined.  So maybe this has been answered.  But when will the 2022 apps be ready. I have dynasty rookie drafts that will be starting in about a month.

You shouldn't. For redraft leagues, full rankings and comments for Kickers and Team Defenses are in the PRO plan. For Dynasty rankings, that's in the ELITE tier. If that's not how it's showing for you, please shoot an email to help@footballguys.com and they'll make sure it's right for you. Thanks.

I think that a lot of this is more a bit of sticker shock, particularly for those who have been subscribers long enough to remember having 3 year subscriptions.  A Hall of Fame level subscription for one year now costs quite a bit more than what a three year subscription once cost. That all said, you're getting more for that increased cost (Mobile apps, DFS, Best Ball, etc), as well as an increased cost of doing business.

This was the first year where I looked at the price and gave pause though.

This is kind of where I am at.  I don't care about mobile apps, IDP, Best ball, auction.  I just care about Dynasty content, and of course redraft content since that is applicable for dynasty leagues as well.  I paid $35 for this last year.  Now I'm paying $70.

I get it.  Increased costs, cant have a plan that fits everyone, etc.

Love this place, been around since Ol' Yeller. So I will continue to support for now, partially just because I feel like supporting Footballguys for 20ish years of content and entertainment.  But this really gave me pause and for the first time I considered not subscribing.

The contents been a steal at the price we’ve been paying for years.  Happy to pay the the new plan prices for the best in the business imo.  

 
@Joe Bryant I don't understand the justification that you are now including the apps in the new subscription pricing as a reason for increasing the price.  I only use the web versions, which have always been part of the plan I've paid for, which last year was $35.  Probably 90% of what I use on footballguys.com is the Draft Dominator and the League Dominator.  Other 10% is looking at dynasty rankings to try and assess potential trades for current season and seasons going forward.  I've been a subscriber since 2010.  Not sure I can justify the subscription for 2022 when, as others have said, there are many many other options now available.

Thanks for the feedback. We knew for sure wouldn't be able to give everyone all they wanted. There are absolutely other options out there but we feel for what we deliver at the price, we're a great value and extremely competitive in the market. I appreciate you giving us consideration again and regardless of what you do on purchasing a subscription, I hope you have an awesome season.

This year is going to be better than ever. We just added 4 more IDP content creators to Staff and we're bolstering best ball and salary cap content as well.

@Joe BryantI used to be able to click on the articles tab at the top of the page and the different categories of articles would show up. Until recently there was a link to the auction/salary cap articles. That no longer exists. If I click on the All Articles tab the drop down menu for categories shows nothing as well.

 
Are we going to get access to your tools soon? The tools link shows that this isn't ready yet. 

Will next off season be the same wait in terms of the tools? Like someone else mentioned, right after the draft would be the optimal time for the release of these tools.

Thanks for letting me know. We've been working on the categories and that's not complete yet. We'll get the salary cap category added back.

For sure, we'll be on an earlier schedule. We also need to update the yellow warning too on that page as lots of tools are ready for 2022 including the Draft Dominator online. Others coming soon. Thanks. 

 
Joe, those of us in the IDP Forum were giving FBGs proper respects for the new hires. Those guys that you've added are all guys I'm familiar with from Twitter, and they always have stuff to say that I listen to. Great job of expanding your IDP content for those of us diehards. I see now where the price increase is coming from. You're building a bigger staff for dynasty/IDP content. I hope it translates into success and prosperity for you, your writer/admin guys, and for us players.

Any idea when the dominator app will be releases on iOS.  Buy it every year, I love how customizable it is with pre-draft pick swaps and keepers, etc.

I know we had a few glitches with rosters synching IDP players. But offensive players are syncing now. Please email help@footballguys.com with specifics of what you're trying to do and they'll do their best to help.

I have been trying for most of that last 4 weeks basically syncing my file every day.  I have sent an email.  very frustrating.  

 
I am a redraft guy, so the cheapest plan (Pro for $47.88) works just fine for me.  In all actuality, I have only been paying all these years for the yearly subscriber and playoff contests.  I wonder how many paying members would stop if you got rid of those 2 contests?  I consider the yearly subscriber contest one of my leagues.  Would be nice to have a working contest querier every year, and consider paying someone to do the live scoring, instead of just having a board regular do it for free.

 
Over the years I’ve faded from using the content. It used to be I’d read many articles throughout the offseason. While I still play FF in about the same amount of leagues, I don’t use the site content much at all. Probably a 90% decrease. Not because the quality dipped - it’s probably improved - but because I just don’t have the free time.

My usage of the site is

1 Contest

2 Waiver wire report from Bloom

3 Dynasty rankings / trade chart maybe every few weeks or so. 
 

 Last 10(?) years $35 for everything I use
This year, $70. So a $35 increase for the dynasty ranks / trade chart. That’s disappointing. I understand the $35 increase may include more tools for others, but for a lite user like me, I can’t justify it. 
 

Obviously you can’t cater to everyone, but I wanted to give one former subscribers feedback.

Any thing you can share here regarding plans on upgrading the auction league content? You've added a number of new staff members regarding IDP content, just wondering if we can expect the same for auction leagues.

@Joe Bryant

Did you guys give any thought to a "DFS Only" subscription?  I only play DFS now (and will probably stop that after I lose the rest of my money at DK :lol: ).

The only way right now for me to get DFS content is through the Hall of Fame subscription that includes everything, which would be totally overkill for me given I only play DFS.
