Final Roster Cuts - post significant & semi-significant cuts. (1 Viewer)

ESPN's page is not updated

http://espn.go.com/nfl/transactions

that's just wrong
Vikings: Placed WR Greg Childs, WR Percy Harvin, DE Greg Scruggs and CB Tharold Simon on the reserve/PUP list. Placed LB Korey Toomer on the reserve/non-football injury list.

It would be awesome if the Vikings can place Seattle players on the PUP and IR.
I really think both teams should just stop stealing each others players.

That said we did start it with the poison pill.

Right now, Rice and Pierce are the only RBs on the Ravens roster.
That's really interesting. I think a post week 1 signing makes sense. Don't have to guarantee a salary and all that. Go with two for one week, and then see who's out there. I doubt a trade for another back.

Stephen Williams waived/injured from Hawks.
Do you have a link for this? I haven't seen it anywhere.
On Rotoworld. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6064/stephen-williams

it's weird, if you search Seahawks WRs, it's not there. If you search Williams, you get the above.
I don't see where it says the Seahawks waived/injured Williams. The last post seems to relate to his concussion in the 4th preseason game.

Look at recent news.

there are 2 Stephen Williams' I believe. Make sure we got the right one.

*disregard...I was looking at Rotoworld and the info from different years was bunched together. It was talking about him being wit the Cards previously.

The next item is from 2012 when the Cardinals waived/injured him.

Chiefs cut Tony Moeaki I think Travis Kelce is going to help a lot of ff owners who sluff TE.
Writing was on the wall there. Signing Fasano and injury.
Agreed.

If they would have kept him however (injury recovery time 12 weeks) that would have shown slightly less confidence in Fasano/Kelce . So that they didn't is a positive sign as well I think.

Ha. Whoops. Apologies, guys!

WR Tavarres King cut by the Donkeys.

Some WR needing team should be giving him a look. Not his fault there are so many good targets in Denver right now.
You can't even blame it on the quality of targets in Denver. Denver only kept 4.5 WRs (the big 3, plus Andre Caldwell as a reliable veteran capable of backing up all three positions and Trindon Holliday as a return specialist). King got cut because Denver had too much talent at other positions they didn't want to get rid of- notably at TE (4 players rostered) and RB, where Denver kept a whopping 5 backs. I have a feeling Jacob Hester's job on the team only lasts until Anderson is healthy again, though.

'cause

Cardinals waived/injured WR Stephen Williams (Achilles) and LB Brandon Williams (shoulder).
Stephen Williams sustained an Achilles' tendon injury during Monday's practice. He was battling for the No. 5 wideout job with undrafted rookie LaRon Byrd. Fri, Aug 31, 2012 04:10:00 PM

Seahawks waived Chris Harper per NFL.com. Looks like Spencer Ware made the team.

Seahawks cut Chris Harper. Boy did I drink the Kool-Aid and fall hard for the hype from some quarters on this guy. Spent semi high picks in 2 leagues on him (4th or 5th rounders). Wasted damn picks.

Old news. Just so happens that he hasn't had any new news posted on rotoworld since he got hurt last year. I think he makes the Seahawks team. But does have a concussion that might sideline him a week or two.

Anyone catch the tweet from Lawrence Tynes wife?

Amanda Tynes @AmandaTynes9

The Bucs informed my husband via EMAIL that he will be placed on NFI. Wouldn't expect anything more from such a classy organization. #blkouthttps://twitter.com/search?q=#blkout&src=hash
So she is taking to twitter after her husband was cut via email? Sounds like a ficticional reason why white people riot.
Being put on the Non-football injury (NFI) list isn't being cut.
That's still so odd- kicker out with ingrown toenail.
 It isn't an Ingrown toenail.

Mill Journal is speculating Johnathan Franklin could be cut?
Gotta link for that? I haven't seen any speculation regarding Franklin being on the bubble.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel hints Packers fourth-round RB Johnathan Franklin's roster spot isn't assured.Beat writer Tom Silverstein believes Franklin "had to show something" in Thursday's preseason finale to secure his spot. Franklin gained just 23 yards on eight carries, but per Silverstein, he "followed his blocks better." Franklin has been one of the biggest busts of the summer, but we highly doubt the Packers will throw in the towel so quickly. Aug 30 - 12:24 PM

Source: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

I would assume his roster spot if fairly safe, but he really hasn't shown anything to warrant that.
Funny (I drafted him and have my own egg on my face but) he's not that big a bust being a fourth rounder yet the reporters that praised him are now forced to call him as such. Fourth round means less even since they started doing compensatory picks.
Franklin was going in the bottom of the 1st round in many rookie drafts. Not usually is this high of a pick declared a borderline bust so soon.
Yeah I see that, it's just we hyped him, shot ourselves in the foot.
The same thing happened with Zac Stacy and Da'Rick Rogers. The lesson should be not to spend high rookie picks on guys who were late rounders in the NFL draft. Not only is there a reason that they fell, but NFL draft status imparts a prospect with a bit of inertia to protect against sudden shocks in value. If Gio Bernard had a crappy preseason, his value wouldn't drop much. When Jonathan Franklin does it, his draft value is going to tank by a round or more.
Yes. This. For this reason I have Christine Michael instead of Stacy and Marquise Goodwin instead of Rogers.
But then you have Zach sudfeld and kenbrell thompkins. (Just food for thought)

Dennis Johnson waived. Apparently Houston is that comfortable with Foster's injury.
Or Johnson can't be trusted to hold onto the ball.
He did a hell of a lot better than Knile Davis.Tells me Foster looks to be OK. Tate is healthy, and Cierre Wood was better for their system. They seem to like the stronger RBs there.
Wood is #4 and still not safe. Karim is #3 and is the kick returner...
Good Call
