Foo Fighters are the greatest rock and roll band of all time (1 Viewer)

This album has really sunk in for me. And I still have not seen any of the Sonic Highway episodes which would only enhance the listening experience. I may just purchase that once it is available for release on BD.

I love the new album now. It has not left my car since release. Not a weak song on this. I love that it is only 8 songs.

I order for me:

1) Outside

2) I Am A River

3) Something From Nothing

4) In The Clear

5) Congregation

6) What Did I Do?/God As My Witness

7) Subterranean

8) The Feast And The Famine

All the tunes are strong. And ordered perfectly on the album. The flow is perfect. This album as leaped into my top 4 Foo's records with a bullet.

word is people are having much greater success using the ticketmaster app vs. online. hope that helps
I ended up getting 4 tickets for the Atlanta show. Didn't really wanna see them there but when Nashville didn't happen I had to go to plan B. Still gonna fly to Nashville, hang out with some buddies, drive to ATL, see the show, and fly back the next day.

Got the new cd for Christmas but just started listening to it today (had to get through the Andrew WK cds first (surprisingly all of his music sounds the same). Sonic Highways is extremely solid front to back. Might have a hard time knocking this out of the cd rotation for the foreseeable future.

Annyong...I've got tickets to the Wrigley show. Its on August 29th. Already have reservations at one of the airport hotels so we can take the L back and forth and not have to worry about driving.

While I wasn't blown away by the entire album, Congregation might be my all time favorite Foo song. Just awesome

Worm - me and the wife are going to the DC show. It's gonna be awesome. Have seen them outdoors once before (Life is Beautiful in Vegas) and they turn up the energy even more. The rest of the bands coming and the festival around it looks like a blast.

Wingnut - thinking about the Nashville or Atlanta shows. If we get tix will let you know.

Foo Fighters played Saturday night at The Forum and the stars came out to help with the Dave Grohl birthday fiesta.

Who was there? Paul Stanley, Tenacious D, Zakk Wylde, Lemmy, David Lee Roth, Perry Farrell, Slash and Nick Oliveri! Not a bad group of friends to come and say happy birthday to Dave.

Here are the performances

DLR is bald and horrible.
My wife and I went to this show, it was amazing especially considering we were not aware of the "special guests" prior to the concert.

Dave Grohl breaks leg after falling off stage in Sweden, finishes concert anyway

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/06/dave-grohl-breaks-leg-after-falling-off-stage-in-sweden-finishes-concert-anyway/

Dave Grohl apparently broke his leg after falling off stage during Foo Fighters’ concert in Gothenburg, Sweden on Friday night. But like the true rock titan that he is, Grohl managed to finish the concert — albeit, sitting down.

Grohl reportedly fell during the band’s performance of “Monkey Wrench” and remained on the ground for several minutes before being taken backstage. “Hey, ladies and gentlemen. I love you, but I think I just broke my leg. I really broke leg,” he told the audience.

While Grohl was attended to backstage, the rest of Foo Fighters played a set of covers sung by drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Ultimately, Grohl returned to the stage with his leg wrapped and finished the concert sitting in a chair. “I may not be able to walk or run but I can still play guitar and scream,” he proclaimed.

Below, watch video of the moment Grohl sustained the injury, along with a few more photos (via Reddit).

What a friggin rock star. Dude is the best.

I'm not even remotely a big foo fighters fan, but Dave Grohl is the absolute man in so many ways.
This

I find I want to like their music more than I actually do. Some songs are great but I find myself changing the station or pushing "next" on my mp3 player when many of their songs are on.

I posted this in the 2015 Concerts thread, but I'll repeat it here: If Foo Fighters are playing your hometown and you were on the fence about going, get off the fence and get your tickets - now. Man, what a f-in awesome time over two of the past three nights with the Camden Foo show blowing the doors off the DC show.

What, your hometown ain't got a Foo show? Get a new hometown. Seriously. Or, at least get a Greyhound ticket to the closest one.

To put it simply, even if you said I'd get almost the same show for the third night in a row next Monday in Camden (last night was 85% same as Saturday), I would absolutely be buying tickets today and going if it was not for one of those pesky work commitments.

They're definitely more of a "greatest hits" type of band vs. a band you can listen to most songs on every album type IMO

Driving from Philly to Boston to see them next weekend at Fenway.

:drive: :towelwave:

Going to see FF in September in Phoenix. Bought the tickets ages ago and it's still a ways away.

My daughter came through, her and her husband were over last night and gave me two tickets for the Aug 21 show in KC. Cannot wait. Wife cannot go - so now my 18 year old son and my 15 year old son are fighting over who gets to go.

Any one know what time they have been starting their shows? I have tickets for tomorrow at Citi Field and just want to time arrival/pre-gaming properly. Thanks

They started at 8:40 in Camden Monday night. Royal Blood came on a few minutes after 7:00 and were well worth ending my tailgating early to go see them.

Never been to one of their concerts until the DC show. Crowd got their money's worth but man that guy is the biggest self-promoter ever. Guess that's why they are so successful.

Great show last night and pretty impressive that he did it with a broken leg. One interesting highlight was I was behind Bill Cowher on line to get some food before the show started. I couldn't understand why he wasn't just eating in a suite until the girl (wife?) he was with asked the person at the counter how to get to the suites as they didn't know how.

This is the absolute greatest thing ever. Watch this video (or better yet - Chromecast it on a good tv/sound system) and tell me this isnt amazing, awesome, and just plain bad ###....Ive never heard of anything like this being done before...and of course, in true rock god fashion, Grohl and company oblige.

Then Dave posts a video today on the Foo's Facebook page in Spanish that says (according to the comments):

"Translation: "Hi, Cesena! I am David, hello. I’m sorry, I don’t speak Italian. Only a little, a little. That video - but how beautiful! Very beautiful. Thank you very much [literally: a thousand thanks]. We are arriving [coming], I promise. We’ll see each other soon. Thank you very much. I love you. Bye."
