I guess its important b/c it show that there was activity inside and around the van at the time this video was taken.
And the video is from two days after last contact with her mom.

Door opening or not...not huge either way. I thought it was interesting on a purely coincidental/creepy level that the video captured somebody there in the van closing the door. Other people here dispute the accuracy of the video...so a back and forth about it.

Either way, clearly cause for an Otis freakout.

You’re correct of course. But the bolded, is the issue.

media bias drives me bonkers. Reason number 47295021 why I don’t watch the news much.

Yep it's no different then the cops murdering innocent people. We always get the insert AA person killed but the little boy in Denver/Utah (Can't remember) who was autistic was murdered in cold blood gets zero coverage outside of the local news and some independent sites? It's terrible both ways but the media knows what drives their ratings and it's sickening. Hence why I don't watch the news that much ether. It's about being first too not who's right and zero accountability in media for being wrong.

I get where he's going though. Back in 2019 we had a shooting about 3 blocks from my house of a weed deal gone bad. Long story short star football and track and field player went to a buddy to get some weed. Dude and his buddies thought the kid was trying to set them up or screw them over in some way. Got into back of a car and the dealer panicked shot the kid and paralyzed him. Dumped his body out of the car. 3 kids were arrested the next day at school. The saddest thing is they and the parents tried to claim the victim was in a known School gang which no one In our township heard of. A lot of the students came out and said the suspects were lying and were the bullies at school. We live right outside of Phlly and there was no big stories but some other story got huge news and it was mentioned maybe briefly in the middle of the broadcast of our local news. go figure.

That's why when info's from these stories come out I tend to take some of the info with a grain of salt before it's confirmed else where.

Did anyone here mention the TikTok girl who apparently picked up the BF with her and her own and Laudrie hitchhiking. Minute they mentioned Jackson Hole where they were going he freaked out and got out of the car. She said he told them he was camping by Snake River which was well out of range where they picked him up on an unauthorized camp site and he got lost from Gabbie but doesn't mention her by name. Said he looked pretty clean and was well mannered outside of his hiking boots but really suspicious was he barely had anything in his backpack or anything. I believe this was the 29th of Aug or 1st or 2nd of Sept this occurred.

Just another weird twist to this.

Is there any reason to assume she wasn't still there?  I assumed the sandals were there because she took them off to get in the van and closed the door herself.  But maybe that's not right with the timeline?
Wait...the police OCD thing...didn't that involve taking shoes off prior to entering the van? (Probably why you brought this up?)

Yes, but if you were OCD wouldn't you make sure BOTH flip flops were together. Why is only one visible? And would you leave your cellphone on the ground?

The subreddit is unreadable.   A lot of calls for violence against his family and doxxing.  Now people are organizing a search.  All of that is against the rules there and has gotten shutdowns and bans but reddit admins not stepping in. .

This is less interesting now because she's dead, and now just sad.    I thought maybe maybe there was a serial killer on the loose and the guy bugged out.  Or it was all a stunt for the subs that got sideways.

I’m shocked that Reddit is going off the rails and taking things too far.

There's other forms of sports betting not online. I had a friend who got involved in betting with the wrong people. Ended up with a divorce. Worst thing this country ever did or one of them is legalize betting and gambling.

Totally agree. If people want to bet on sports we should not be offering them safe, legal outlets to do so. Let them find their own random unregulated bookies.

I tried watching some of the body cam footage from the traffic stop. But it was like an hour and twenty minutes long. Is that typical for an officer stop? I've never heard of an incident taking that long, even in a divide / interview / separate situation. In most cases, wouldn't they just go back to the police station to sort things out?

So the boyfriend drives his car to some wilderness reserve in Florida.

Car gets tagged by police to be removed

Parents leave a car for him to comeback

He doesnt so they go get a car and then report HIM missing....

They either helped with his escape or hes killed himself

Damn, was really holding out hope that she had a breakdown and was just hiding out herself.

Sounds like his parents helped him flee.

Do we actually know that she has diagnosable OCD?  I don't think she does.  She got pissed off that her boyfriend got into the van she had just cleaned with muddy shoes (reasonable), and is a 22 year old youtuber who said she is OCD during a bit of a rant.  People say they're "OCD" all the time for simple stuff like "I like to clean pots and pans by hand instead of the dishwasher I'm kinda OCD".  I never got the impression she was Ben Affleck from The Accountant or anything.

Yeah, none of this has been a good look to his parents.

I haven't read this thread, so forgive me if this has already been posted.  Is it possible his parents have already smuggled him out of the country and sent the FBI on a wild goose chase in that park reserve?

Or that they ate him.

Yes. It's possible.

Yes. It's possible.
wut?  Are you saying it is beyond the realm of possibility they could have gotten him out of the country?  I hope they aren't that resourceful, but it's been done before.  Or he has already killed himself.

Saw a tweet from Gabby’s dad last night remembering her. He didn’t tweet much (hadn’t in years), so if you scrolled down a little there was a tweet from like 7-8 years ago with a picture of her and him saying something along the lines of “Stop growing up, I can’t stand it” - really hurt my heart to see that. I can’t even imagine.

yeah I'm of the opinion that the reserve is a setup and he's 500+ miles away. If I were him looking to disappear, hitch a ride at a truck stop, go up to Georgia and hike the Appalachian Trail until the public moves on to the next story.

In the internet age it is almost impossible to hide forever.  His parents could have arranged for him to disappear to a country that doesn't have extradition to the US.  I hope they aren't that smart.  I still think he's in a ditch somewhere dead from a self inflicted injury.

Those cops must be feeling awfully guilty right now
How so? They couldn't charge him with anything at the time. If anything, SHE was going to be charged.

I'm sure they feel terrible about the final outcome but they shouldn't feel guilty at all for their actions.

Not only that, but they encouraged and got them separated that night.

That sounds like obstruction of justice to me or aiding and abetting a crime .  It would be very stupid to arrange something like that for them if they want to stay out of jail.

You shouldn't be surprised at what a parent will do for their child.

We haven’t been told about her diagnosis specifically, but why does it matter?
