Gado = Gore (1 Viewer)

Clearly Gado does not have the pedigree or experience that Gore has.

However, having watched Gore closely in his first 2 games and having watched Gado in several games last year I see many similarities. Strongest of which is their always churning, powerful, in-your-face running.

There's really no one in Gado's way right now. Lundi and Dayne are just not obstacles. Grab Gado now.

I think I'll reserve judgement until he has significantly more than two touches with the Texans (of course in the only league he might be an option I own him already so I can take my time)

Both run hard, but there's more to this game than running hard and moving piles.

Gore has better hands, vision, instincts and as strong as Gado runs, Gore runs stronger. Plus Gore's adversity thus far has created a huge chip on his shoulder which is giving him even more oomph than normal.

You could maybe say Gado is a very poor man's Frank Gore, but to say that they are "=" is a huge stretch IMO.

Gado does have upside in the Kubiak zone blocking scheme, but Gore is man on a mission right now.

I have Gado, and I'm in no rush to trade him right now. I think his stock will only rise. I don't know why some people think the prospect of Gado beating out Dayne and Lundy to start is so laughable. People are forgetting what an amazing run he had last season on a really crappy GB team.

It's fashionable to pooh-pooh RB's who were drafted lower or who are UDFA's because the thinking is their draft position (or lack thereof) helps ensure their failure in the NFL, and dumping on them makes you look like a "shark".

People love to laugh when someone like Gado is brought up as having value, but let's be realistic. Regardless what an individual personally may think of Gado as a talent, it's worth watching his situation because if he ends up in the starter role he has value. The fact that he has a decent shot at the role in the near future gives him value right now. As Gravity mentioned, his obstacles are definitely not huge.

Look at the overall picture here. If you don't like him, he's still worth having for his trade value to someone who needs RBs. In almost all 12+ team leagues there is someone who is desperate for RB help, especially with byes coming up. So to just :lmao: at Gado is not very forward-thinking IMO.

I don't recall Olandis Gary being a world-beater either, but he certainly was fantasy gold in 1999 . . . in the very same offense, BTW.

I like Gado much better than Lundy simply because he was able to post solid numbers on a terrible GB team last year where Ahman couldn't do squat. I think he'll be a solid #3 fantasy RB with upside to break into #2 starter potential.

I don't think that Gado = Gore.

I stand by what I said earlier in this thread, including my expressed dismay at how easily some "sharks" dismiss Gado's value, but I'll give the main difference, in my mind, between Gado and Gore (from a dynasty perspective):

Gore rips off two huge games, I'm thrilled and feel good having Gore anchor my backfield for the forseeable future.

Gado rips off two huge games, I'm selling high.

The overall picture is the #1 RB on that team is averaging 34 yards a game. And that is who Gado is aspiring to become. Even if you do think Gado has the talent of Gore (which I don't) he is still fighting his way into a starting spot on an awful team. I may be underestimating his talent or overestimating how bad Houston is in your eyes but in mine Gado has little to no value.

Most of my leagues are 14 teams with 20-man rosters. There are very few rosters of that size so good that they don't have room for a potentially soon-to-be starting RB, and I don't care what NFL team he's on. And, I don't care what his team is averaging for two games. That's not the overall picture at all (taking a two week view is shortsighted BTW). As I said, it's about trade value even if you personally don't like him - or his team. I can easily trade him to a RB-thin FF team if he becomes the starter. I can't trade a PK2 or a WR8 - that's what's on the end of 20-man roster benches - but I sure can trade a starting RB and improve that bench. Also, I have made no comparison with Gore, nor would I. That was someone else.

I don't know that I agree he will put up Gore type numbers but I do agree that if he earns the starting job, which should be all that difficult given Lundy's performance so far, he does have value as a 4th rb on your squad with a potential to move up.

I just made an offer tho the FWP owner in my 12 team re-draft to give him Haynes for Gado. If I can get him on the cheap I'll take him.
