Game Thread W1 - Atlanta V Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Overall, a costly game. The Starks injury looked pretty bad. I didn't see Hampton go out but hamstrings are tough and he came out in street clothes for the second half.

On the positive side, the right side of the offensive line looked better than advertised. The defense played tough against the run even with Hampton on the sidelines. McFadden played pretty well, too.

I don't know if the Steelers should make a change at QB (I'm sure they won't) but I couldn't help but feel they should/would have had more that 3 pts at halftime if Batch was the QB. 3 times in the first half Dixon threw the ball at the WR's feet on 3rd down, when a good pass would have resulted in a first down. Then, during an impressing drive he throws a horrible pick... not enough air, directly to the defender, even though Miller was wide open 5 yards behind the defender.

I'm greatful the Steelers D played so well today... but 9 points isn't going to cut it against TEN, BAL, or even TB.

Starks and Hampton can't be out for an extended time either.

This is what I waited all off-season for? This is my 3rd year QB coming of age? Championship teams don't blow opportunities like this. Steelers were ripe for the picking, and we just handed it to them. I'm so disappointed in this team and Ryan I can hardly speak. What's it like to have a team that's not perennially incompetent? Matty Ice was Matty Choke today.

Exactly how I feel! Give credit to the Steelers defense, but jesus our guys dropped SOOOO many freaking balls on 3rd down. I remember at least 5 drives halted to due an Atlanta receiver/RB letting a ball go right through his hands. So frustrating. Ryan didn't look special at all. I doubted the preseason hype to begin with, but hoped I was wrong. I'm not.
