Game Thread W4 - Green Bay v Minnesota (2 Viewers)

sure would be awesome if the Packers had 24 points instead of 20...if only they had an opportunity to kick a field goal earllier...
It would be awesome if the Packers had 28, which is what they would have if Lee could of caught the ball that was in his hands

People need to stop with the "if GB had kicked the FG" Stuff. GB made the right call and their TE simply messed up the play. GB could have just as easily attempted that FG and the kicker missed it. It would have been no different.

Definitely an interesting game....

On a fantasy note, it's nice seeing Grant getting involved in the passing game tonight. 4 catches for 50 yards.

The coach called a play that should have worked and would have worked had his TE executed it. One guy ruined it. A kicker could have just as easily been that guy who ruined it. Laugh all you want, but any coach in the NFL or even high school football would go for it 100% of the time if you could promise them their TE would have that opportunity as the end result of the play.

If one thing can be made clear tonight, it's this. Brett Favre NEVER played behind an O-Line as bad as this one. Rodgers is a keeper. The focus for GB must be to add talent to the O-Line.

The Oline will be fine when Clifton is back. The D is a much bigger concern IMO.

1 - The coach did not call a play that worked. If he did, then Rodgers wouldn't have had to go to his 4th or 5th read. He got lucky that the O line actually held off the hounds because they didn't at any other time tonight.2 - When you are trailing, you never pass up an opportunity to put points on the board before the 4th quarter.

Compare the percentages of making that pass vs. a very short FG.You fail at Football.

Hindsight's pretty awesome, eh?

I noticed Favre wouldn't call Aaron Rodgers by name, only referring to him as "their quarterback." But, no, he's not bitter and out for revenge. :lmao:

Yes he called a play that worked. He called a play that put his team and players in a situation for success. It's up to the players to execute the plays.

Common sense is even better.

Good game old man. Good game.

Played very well.

as for GB.

Coaching (mental mistakes are on him...not kicking the FG...those are on the HC)

Capers...where is the pressure. 3 man rushes...you cannot give Favre 7 seconds to throw a ball. You cannot give Joey Harrington that long. Any QB in this league will kill you if you give him that much time. The secondary cannot cover forever

Rodgers...very good at times...still holds the ball too long. Those turnovers were the total difference in the game.

Oline...good enough at times...piss poor at others.

Defensive line is a mixed bag...great against Peterson...terrible on the pass rush.

LBs I thought were the bright spot along with Finley.

also good to see the screen game work a bit tonight...but wow the Oline just is not giving them chances to really win.

And yes...you absolutely kick the FG there. Too early for that...especially given the way the previous 2 plays went.

Though...IMO the first screw up was throwing it on 3rd down. If you are going to do it...run, run, run it again...sneak Rodgers...something. But 2 throws from the one IMO is not a great play...even against Minny.
