Game Thread W5 - Tampa Bay V Denver (1 Viewer)

I'm not watching the game, I'm wondering is TB's offense that bad or is the Denver D finally showing up five weeks in?

is it me, or does it seem like EVERY tackle by a Denver LB gets some version of a celebration dance? it's not like they're about the worst rated defense in the league or anything. make a (routine) tackle and go back to your huddle. :goodposting:
Is it Nate Webster? He does that, and is also a complete jackass.

Denver D is definitely playing well. tampa O isn't playing that great either. There have been a few bad passes, and dropped balls. Trueblood has 2 penalties, and looks like crap. Donald Penn, looks like crap at LT. Not a fan of the play calling. We should use Graham more.

Cool thanks for the update, sounds like a little bit of both is going on.

Ballsy call to pass on first, while needing to keep the clock running..... worked this time.....

aaaannnddd another first down, I think Denver has it sealed up.

where is marshall!?!
Does it really surprise you that Marshall has caught 2 balls all day not long after Denver announced it was going to a spread offense? That dropped Marshall's value at least 50%.
Drops his value 50%? Get a clue. The guy can't have 15 catches every game.
Let's see....18...318...3Yeah, those are close.
You don't think after the picks in triple coverage last week Cutler would have to prove he could look elsewhere? So you expected Marshall to keep and 18 catch per game pace....do you know anything about football?

Good win for the Broncos - especially with the Chargers going down in Miami.

I liked the defensive effort at LB.

Brian Griese is just awful at Invesco - must be Kryptonite under the field. He looked like the useless QB that we ran out of town. Why TB didn't run the ball I don't know - the way to break the Broncos is to wear down the D.

No, I expect him to keep up a reasonable pace. His production has dropped every week since his big game. This week is almost at the bottom. I'm guessing next week he'll be 0/0 and the next week he'll be 2/0 with 2 fumbles.

I'm guessing you wish you had the best WR in FF. :goodposting:

I think Cutler is trying to be too much like Brady and spread the ball around. He should stick to what worked before and throw to his studs.
Throwing to his studs is what cost him the game against Kansas City. Two terrible interceptions on passes that were forced to Marshall when several other receivers were wide open, as well as a pair of fumbles by said studs.Cutler should stick to what works for all of the best QBs and throw to the guys that are open. Follow that philosophy and his studs will more often than not still get theirs, but opposing defenses won't get THEIRS anymore. This week is exhibit A- 0 INTs against the defense that leads the league in them.

Please tell me this is a fishing trip. Please, please, please tell me this is a fishing trip. Marshall had a record day in his first week. The day after a record day is *ALWAYS* a regression... and in this case, Marshall regressed to... 155 yards and a score. OH MY GOD SOUND THE PANIC ALARM!Okay, okay, so maybe your problem is that Marshall continued to "regress". After posting 300 yards and 2 scores in his first two weeks, Marshall only put up 80 yards and a score last week. WHAT A BUM!And then, to add to the INDIGNITY of having to suffer through a PATHETIC 80-yard, 1-TD game last week, Marshall was actually... *gasp*... HELD WITHOUT A TD THIS WEEK for the first time all season. The writing's on the wall. Marshall's career as a fantasy-relevant player is OVAH. Trade him now for whatever you get while he still has any value whatsoever. If you hurry, you might still be able to get Ryan Fitzpatrick before his value explodes.

Interesting note on Prater- I know "on pace for" stats are stupid and ridiculous and unreasonable, but if you'll permit me to splash in the wading pool at the small sample size playground, here's a fun one for you:

Jason Elam is currently second all-time in career 50+ yard field goals over his 16-year career with 38. At Prater's current pace, he'd match Elam's total by his 48th game in Denver. That's three seasons, folks. He'd surpass Morten Anderson's NFL record of 40 such kicks four games into his 4th season.

If you want to get really silly, though... Anderson played 382 career games. Project Prater's pace over 382 games and you're looking at 306 career 50+ yard figgies. He'd probably be the first NFL player since Don Hutson to break the established record by more than 600%.

Aren't pace stats fun?
