Game Thread Week 11 - New York Jets at New England Patriots (1 Viewer)

Will they go for it again
WOW it could be 24-12 and get the ball back in the second half. If they score here it wil be about the same outcome I guess
It could be 24-16 and they could be going for the tie on their first possession of the second half. I understand going for it on 4th and 1. If the QB can get the 1st, you are pretty damm close. 4th and 3 and you are most likely passing and you have a lot worse chance to get it. We will see if that 3 points makes a difference at the end.

The Jets have four scoring drives on five attempts, with three TDs to show for it, while the Pats have four drives into the red zone, and have only . If there's any good news for the Pats, it's that:

1) TD returns are flukey Meh

2) a debatable pass interference call led to one of the other TDs. I'm not debating it, but it wasn't a either way, it's a catch

3) the Pats got a lot more ball movement than the 6 points they ended up with, but settled for field goals and 4th down attempts jets are so close to burying cassel

4) the Jets were laughing on the sidelines so they may be getting overconfident that was a handslap

5) the Pats have gotten the short end of a few calls so far (including the ball being "tipped" on that intentional grounding) Pats have gotten the long side of calls for a decade and that call meant little

6) the Pats get the last possession of the first half and the first of the second half, and

7) Belichick is usually excellent at halftime adjustments

As I write this, the Pats have a shot at scoring again, so it's far from over. But this is a terrible start.

The way I look at it, they came out 1 point ahead of what most teams would have cause most teams would have went with the 2 fg attempts and got 6 points outa it. The Pats got 7 outa them two possessions. BB got bailed out with the 3rd and 10 td pass. Very lucky.

Of course it's never over in NE, but as a jets fan, very happy overall.

Should be an interesting 2nd half.

I didnt agree with the call by Belichick. However, you cant just say that things would have played the same. If the Pats had kicked the FG, the Jets would have had another kick return and Washington has been dynamite tonight. The Jets also could have very easily played their series differently and not given the ball back to the Pats to allow them to score the late TD. You dont know how things would have played out. The fact the Pats got to 24-13 by halftime is fortunate in my book. Now a TD drive to start the 2nd half and they will be back in it.

I've got a little bitter taste after the way the Jets offense handled the end of the half and the defense let up....The Jets OL is not getting enough pass rush either - give credit but, Cassell has WAY too much time here.

Well, they got some good pass rush in there for part of the half, but at the end yes waaaaay too much time. YOu can't sit back and just wait for it.

Kaczur is doing a nice job of pushing Pace just past Cassel (Cassel also is stepping up). Pace has been close a couple of times.

Jets have completely outplayed the Pats ... The score should not be as close as it is.

Big problems so far for the Jets ...

Dropped very easy TD by Keller ended up kicking the field goal

No pass rush by the D line

Mangina is afraid to blitz ... If they did Cassel would panic

ok..what the hell are those gray with yellow graphics at the 50 yard line..i have seen them before and cant figure it out?

Hey David Yudkin....

Can you text Belichick and tell him he's got a HOF WR on his roster that hasn't caught a ball? TIA.

Can someone please cover Washington?

Has Vrabel lost it or what? He beats Ferguson on a bull rush but cant come off the block to get to Favre. He pushes Ferguson past Favre like that does a lot of good.
