There's one in whiterun, and one in solitude. Also, there's a mod that lets you craft them.My main issue is not having enough arrows. I need to find an arrow merchant
No they pretty much don't see you. That's why sneak is op.I decided my first order of business for Ricru Zybro, my sneaky archer was to get the skeleton key. So im going through the thieves guild stuff to land it. I will not be returning it.
I have loaded up on archer skills but never took the stagger one. Will do that next. Thx Greg
So, as you get better with sneak, will enemies not see you even right in front of them. I was playing last night and two guys ran right by me while I was right in front of them. Seemed like a glitch but would rock if it continued.
Loot is also good to use. It sets your load order for you.If I was starting fresh I would go with Mod Organizer. I used NMM for the longest time, and the differences between them are not huge. But from what I've seen of both, Mod Organizer is slightly better if you hit a really bad conflict.
But if you have a good working install already using NMM, the differences are negligible enough I wouldn't bother switching. Only if I was going from a vanilla install again.
Always keep multiple save files my man. I had a corrupted file as well that kept crashing on me......so I went back to a previous save from 5 hours earlier. No problems.Had a minor setback this weekend. I somehow had a corrupted file that caused a crash any time I opened up my weapon inventory and scrolled down to an Iron Dagger. I uninstalled all the mods, saved, and tried again and still it caused a crash. I tried numerous other work arounds that didnt work and eventually gave up and started over. I was only level 22 so while painful, it didnt stop my from starting over.
I have TONS of save files. I went back 3 days and none of them worked. Couldn't figure it out.Always keep multiple save files my man. I had a corrupted file as well that kept crashing on me......so I went back to a previous save from 5 hours earlier. No problems.
I will post another entry into my adventure diary for Serratus soon. We have had some wild adventures this past week.
Ughh that sucks.I have TONS of save files. I went back 3 days and none of them worked. Couldn't figure it out.
Ok Hillary, take it easy. Also, what is to stop me from installing and unintstalling that mod to just get the 10,000 in gold every time I play
Pride? Also, what is to stop me from installing and unintstalling that mod to just get the 10,000 in gold every time I play
Nothing. The game was always exploitable. Also, what is to stop me from installing and unintstalling that mod to just get the 10,000 in gold every time I play
I don't have this mod so I am not sure if it's different, but no house comes furnished. You have to buy the furnishings from whoever you bought the house from.Do the DLCs come on this version of the game. I have played for a week and have already done three new missions that I never came across in the bajillion hours I spent on this the first time around
So I got the skyfall estate mod and bought the house with the 10,000 gold. I should have just kept the gold. The house is not furnished. WTF. I dont want to scavenge the land looking for materials to make a sink or bed. grrrrrr
ETA: Maybe not missions per say but locations and such
The skeleton key is very useful, which is why I agree with doing those quests as early as possible. Over time, however, it becomes irrelevant because as you build up your lock picking skill, you can get a perk where lock picks don't break, which is basically the same as having the skeleton key. You can finish the Thieves Guild line of quests after that if you want.I decided my first order of business for Ricru Zybro, my sneaky archer was to get the skeleton key. I have no plans to ever pick a lock in this game again, I'm sick of it. When I restart one of the first mods I look for will be one of the lock picking mods, just get sick of it pretty quickly, I will always get it soon, so may as well just "cheat" it.The skeleton key is very useful, which is why I agree with doing those quests as early as possible. Are these mods available for PS4? Agree that both are tedious and I wouldn't feel bad about using a mod to circumvent them.Yeah, was going to say, I've played the lockpick mini-game enough I have not had a single regret about using mods to skip it.
Same thing with mods that skip the mining animation. Which I have to do a lot since I drastically reduced how many ingots are sold by merchants.
Looks like I need to add two more mods.Yeah, was going to say, I've played the lockpick mini-game enough I have not had a single regret about using mods to skip it.

why not just install a cheat room mod and then just get the gold from there instead of installing and uninstalling a mod. Seems to be way less of a hassle.I dont have that. Looks like I will be loaded tonight
So the houses you can buy, you have to buy the furnishings. The houses you can build, you can build the furnishings. The houses via mods usually come fully furnished. The issue with the mod houses is that you can't use them for your wife or kids until a PC mod gets ported over that lets you mark that house as "house".I don't have this mod so I am not sure if it's different, but no house comes furnished. You have to buy the furnishings from whoever you bought the house from.
Just get a mod that makes lockpicks unbreakable with 1 perk and no level requirements. Makes it super easy. The skeleton key is very useful, which is why I agree with doing those quests as early as possible. Bethesda.net lets you sort mods by platform. You log in and then can add to your library and when you open up the console you have those all listed under your mods, just need to download them.I don't know where you go to find a current list of what is released on PS4. The one I use is Kenmod Lockpick Pro. As I see his readme mentions it uses a .swf file (shockwave file I think) I doubt that is on the list of what PS4 allows to be edited.

If you don't have it I'd also suggest glowing ore veins so you can see the damn things. Not sure if they are on SE yet or not.

I've got 6 or 7 installed, but I keep seeing more of them recommended in short lists. Looking for something more comprehensive. XB1 for me...
It would have to edit the mesh (the image that gets draped over the skeletal framework of objects) to put the other colors in, so won't be available on PS4 unless Sony relents about only allowing ESP files to be changed.Instant Mining

Xbox doesn't have that problem but it's not available for Xbox either. It would have to edit the mesh (the image that gets draped over the skeletal framework of objects) to put the other colors in, so won't be available on PS4 unless Sony relents about only allowing ESP files to be changed.
Say this again as if I have no clue what you are talking aboutwhy not just install a cheat room mod and then just get the gold from there instead of installing and uninstalling a mod. Seems to be way less of a hassle.
Why? Cast a spell, go in and get your gold and then leave. It's no different than what you're doing but doesn't require you to uninstall and reinstall a mod. Saves time and you can use the replication chests for gold too. It's not it give you everything, you have to go in and take what you want selectively.Im all for mods but this may be a bit much for me. No judgement on others.
The good thing about mods like this is it alleviates the grind. I got my smithing and enchantment to 100 each for different characters honestly - the enchanting in particular took a long time. I have no desire to do either again. My current character learned to smith as a boy, and started the game at 80/ebony. My next character will have a nice boost in enchanting.Im all for mods but this may be a bit much for me. No judgement on others.
Plus it's all selective, you don't have to take anything you don't want to take. I play strictly as an archer so I grabbed a good bow, good arrows and good light armor. I've still died multiple times. I also grabbed the ores, ingots and all the ingredients so I didn't have to grind through that again....The good thing about mods like this is it alleviates the grind. It's an absolute grind now....use petty soul gems and enchant whatever. It took me about 400 total enchantments I think. What's the best ways to level Enchanting again? Used to be banish but they nerfed that, what is the go-to enchantment now? I forgot I made enchanting and smithing legendary and now I need it leveled again, damn it.
Dont worry too much about character build. They are all pretty much viable. Stealthy archer/1-handed is very popular and very powerfulLove being years behind the times....
I finally got a PS4 last week - the VR system (which is very cool) got me re-energized to play some games, I haven't played much of anything since the early days of PS3. I have this game arriving from Amazon today. From everything I read, I'm going to have to fight to preserve my marriage once I get into it. Any helpful hints/tips for a first-timer? Mods and all that stuff are way beyond my ken (and I assume apply to the PC version anyway) but are there any helpful hints in terms of character build or first steps/quests that will "grease the skids" for a born-again RPG nerd?
Honestly, just jump into it. Skyrim is tailored to let you do whatever you want. Put a few hours into it and post updates.Love being years behind the times....

Never gotten married in Skyrim. Didn't even know you could. I just saw a tip saying I could adopt kids too... why the eff would I do that?
I was just reading the info on the DLC hearthstone - buying property and adopting kids - and thought "I'm playing games to escape all that!"I like them too. My dilemma is that Im level 62 now and have been a sneaky archer/ one-handed guy for so long that its kind of boring. I wanted to transition to a destruction/ conjuration mage but it's been a bit cumbersome with having to re-level smithing and enchanting all over again so I can make a decent set of mage gear.I enjoy enchanting and smithing and don't really see either as a grind - they're just part of the game for me. Even though I wear light armor I always take the heavy smith perks because I want the stronger bows. By the time I got the Nightingale bow I could make a stronger one from ebony myself. With my archery buffs on apparel I've taken down a dragon with 4 arrows. My archery isn't maxed out yet and I haven't gotten into the top two materials for weapons so I can certainly see one-shotting a dragon eventually.
