with a follower as a pack mule and the steed stone activated hopefully you don't have too much trouble.You can also ride a horse overloaded too if you want to crawl out of town and ride up there.

Couldn't you just fast travel once? Are you prevented from fast traveling when you are carrying too much to run?

Followers have unlimited carrying capacity if you tell them to pick something up directly (don't pick it up yourself and do an inventory transfer).
Well, there's always the obvious answer. Which is to say, those of us that have played through this series and many others just ASSUMED there would be penalties to our sneaky archers and went with light armor like we always do. And now we are to far in to the game to switch and waste the light armor perks we've already taken. At least that's the case for me. Just wouldn't seem right wearing heavy anyways. I mean, WhoTF sneaks in HEAVY armor????

Also, I'm sure there are other ppl like myself who have chosen not to play this game in a sneaky way at all. I use the destruction magic/one-handed sword combo with a follower (currently Mjoll) and usually an Atronach if I'm fighting several fairly strong enemies. I will run into battle and try to dodge swings by weaving/jumping or taking advantage of the terrain. Having light armor vs. heavy armor makes a big difference for this playing style in combat.'Matthias said:

You can fast travel while overloaded, if you're riding a horse. Many a time I've hoped on Frost, fast travelled to White Run, then crawled to my house. I would think you could do the same in reverse.- Gather up all your junk- Crawl out to the stable- Hop on Frost- Fast Travel to city of choice- Crawl to new digsOf course... that would be slower than just instructing your follower to "take all" and then fast travel with them... so disregard....
One worD of warning: I have had legitimately acquired items get stuck with a stolen label after doing this - doesn't happen all the time and I'm not sure what the trigger is.

I think the "Stolen" situation happens when you drop your items on the floor in a town district or area owned by someone else. I've done this a few times - where I dropped armor on the ground outside of Whiterun (like in the stables area) and when I instructed my follower to pick it up, the action choice says "steal xx".
Not to go trying to break the system, but if that's the case, what happens if you drop a stolen item on the ground in your house and instruct a follower to pick it up?

From my experiences when I drop something in my own home (I only own the breezehome) that's fine, but in someone else's home, a bar, or town area, it automatically become stolen no matter which one of you drops it and which one of you picks it up. Note however that I think this only happens with certain items (higher lvl armors, weapons) and not everything becomes stolen, esp if you are in the home of a "friend".

Correct, except that the robes only take your chest slot. So you can wear the robes and also have heavy armor boots, gauntlets and a helmet on. You won't max out your armor rating without chest armor, but you can get it pretty high. Enough to really make a difference versus not wearing any armor at all.If you went with chest armor you could save perks by not needing to put the 5 into Heavy Armor to get +100%... you could max it out with just the best armors, upgraded by a maxed out Smith (with fortify smith clothing and drinking a fortify smith potion). But the trade off would be a lower regenerate magicka on your self-enchanted chest armor than the robes provide. I'm assuming you have 100 enchant and dual enchant your chest armor with fortify destruction and regen magicka. The lower regen rate really isn't a terrible thing either at higher levels. Only time magicka regen rate matters is in combat. Destruction spells would be free, and about the only other spells to cast in combat would be conjure atronach and healing. If you got low you could always chug some potions. Actually after typing that, if I do another mage after this one, I might plan on doing that. Save the Heavy Armor perks and accept the lessened magicka regen rate. Though it also means your armor wouldn't be good as you are leveling up unless you power level your Smithing.'Matthias said:

I was curious about whether the "bug" is that your dropped item attaches its ownership to the person who owns the building... If that's the case, wouldn't dropping stolen items in your home and having a follower pick them up remove the "stolen" classification?

The enchantment is stuck on the weapon, but the black star stays intact and can be refilled

The star doesn't go on the weapon, the soul in it is used to put an enchantment on the weapon. So after you enchant a weapon with the soul from the black star, you can go out and re-fill the star with a soul and use it again.Not like other soul gems where once you use them, they're gone.

Question about bounties:
For example, If I have 1000G bounty on me and the guards face off for a jail/showdown choice with me, if I choose "I'd rather die" and then run long enough until they're not enemies on my radar anymore....is my bounty gone? That wouldn't make any sense but I think that's what happened to me in Dawnstar recently.

I think it's gone until you get, "Hey, I know you". If they say that, walk away. If you engage them in conversation they'll get you. I've only had this happen with small bounties and I give them the "I don't have time for this do you?" and they let me go. not sure about 1k.

As I read through this thread, I realize how handicapped you are if you avoid the wiki and the spoilers here. Had I known about the Steed Stone, I likely would have went heavy armor. In fact, even if I had wanted light, I could have avoided wasting a perk to make my armor weight nothing. I would have known how to get Black Soul credit with Azura's Star. Etc and so on. Oh well, I think I can win this thing in grand fashion anyways, and I'll know I did it (mostly) on my own. But it definitely makes it tougher than it needed to be.

Weight is also an issue. Heavy armor weighs a lot more than Light armor, so you can carry less loot.ETA: movement speed as well as stamina cost are affected. When sprinting in heavy armor your stamina is drained almost twice as fast as light armor.If you're going thief/assassin, it's best to be in light armor. If you don't mind contact with enemies up close, go heavy. As a mage, it's your call. Thought I've long wanted to toy with a conjuring/destruction mage in heavy armor, that uses bound weapons.

I'm doing it right now with my Big Gay Orc. Level 31 and I've done nothing but hack everything to bits with a greatsword or hammer. It's loads of fun.

Doing this now with my dual dagger/sword sneaky cat guy. Maybe the most fun of the three i've done(archer, mage also). The cut scenes are awesome and some of the dual wielding moves are great, too

Yes, and it's much easier than you'd think... It actually probably takes a lot "less" time than if you go the ranged route - because there's no need for subtlety. Just charge in, wax everything in sight, get your sweet roll back and go.

Decapitation doesn't happen with the hammer. There's a number of other animations instead.ETA: the coolest one is a power attack killing move on a dragon. My guy leapt up on its head and wailed its skull. The dragon collapsed dead.How does that work with the hammer; smash their head in?

Daedric shrine near Solitude. I forgot the Daedra's name. After you do something for her, she yanks you a mile into the sky to have a little private conversation. But while up there you can look around and even move a bit.

Yeah, as I triggered that a dragon came by to attack me. Got to look down on him flying all around Skyrim. Kind of cool. Amazing how fast he traveled.

Armor weight needn't be a problem. Whether with Steed Stone or the perk that does the same thing, your equipped armor doesn't count towards your carry weight.Though Steed Stone has the bonus that it works for both light and heavy armor, while the perks you'd have to take the perks for both.

Well. Yes and no. I mean it's more fun to find it all out for yourself. I avoided the wiki and anything in the thread that was a spoiler for a long time. But after awhile you get sucked in. Once you know how things work, the game loses some of its wonder. I'm still trying to avoid reading any spoilers about quests or even entire quest lines I haven't done yet.

I have a Dwarven Axe that I CRAFTED that says it's stolen. Not sure how that works, unless I somehow stole the ore, which I doubt because I'm a Mage. Think it's a glitch.

So, apparently when fighting Dragons, if you get to close they eat you. I got a little overconfident in my new Armor and big ### warhammer and decided to go toe-to-toe with a dragon. That didnt last long
Yea, I'm still there. I really try to avoid spoilers as they absolutely ruin the fun for me. But every once in awhile, I have to know what all the hub-bub is about, like with the Steed Stone and the Star. In the case of the Star, I waited till after the fact, only to find out I chose poorly. Oh well, so be it. If I ever make it to round two, I'll know.I alos took one other posters advice in that I am avoiding a lot of quests in secondary (for me anyways) towns and saving those for round two. Hopefully that will keep it fresh. So sorry Markath and Solitude, you're on your own for now.
