Yeah, I was watching my nephew playing it and it struck my interest as it seemed like there was more to it than a lot of the Shoot Em Ups. First game of this sort I've played probably since Bard's Tale.i'll throw my vote into this one. I was in the same boat, hadnt played a game in almost 10 years but this one had me hooked in 1 or 2 sessionsThe "what are you playing" threads mostly just give titles. I am in noob territory, the last game I played was neverwinter nights, I need a little more than just a title.I believe there's a few "What are you playing" video game threads that may be of more service to what you're looking for.BUT I think if you're into the RPG/action adventure thing that this game could be a good fit for you; its extremely in depth and will suck you in.If I can't getI wish I could, This is the first console game I've played since PS2. Can't answer on the overall system (though I have 360) - from what I've read regarding Skyrim specifically it sounded like the PS3 version had more issues. But again I'd seek more opinions.-QG

that is a whole other set of pros and cons. Xbox prob has more games, more users, and games go on sale/discount faster for some reasonPS3 has bluray and a free online network.

The PS3 version did have more problems but I think most problems are gone now with the 1.4 release. I have played over 40 hours without any issues on 1.4.

There is a whole seperate thread discussing ps3 vs Xbox. Both are great systems, you just need to do the research to decide which is best for you.

To help clarify thing, you guys are talking about two different weapons.*Hawks64 is talking about Ebony Sword, a regular ebony one handed sword that can be upgraded and enchanted the normal way.ebony blade is a weapon received when completing the Daedric mission called "The Whispering Door"I think it's enchantment is absorb health and upgrades by slaying friendly NPCsNot sure if this is code speak from something I am totally missing or not. I'd say yes but
Keep the key long enough to level up your lockpicking. You can do it very fast with Nocturne's key in the practice room at the Thieves' Guild. Once your lockpicking is up the key is pretty useless since lockpicks have no weight and they're very easy to come by.Afterwards, turn it in and complete the quest. One of the powers you can choose from Nocturne is the ability to go auto-invisible every time you sneak. Once you get some of the good sneak perks, this will make you almost impossible to mob.

When enchanting is there any difference between using grand souls and black souls?
I'm now Thane of Solitude. Yay me. I think about all I have left that I REALLY want to do is get the final two Dragon Masks. I wiki'd the locations. Both are quests initiated by stumbling on the location, so I'm not surprised I never found them as they seem to be in mountain areas and I HATE searching for passes/ways through. Also glad I didn't keep going after Words of Power as that would have never gotten me there. After that, I don't know that there is anything left I want to accomplish.
Pretty sure they are the same. Easiest way to be sure would probably be to fire up the enchanter, and when it is time to select the gem, pick one and look at the value of the item. Deselect that gem and pick the other. See if the value of the item changed at all.

I think i'm about to start over and go for an all powerful mage. I finished the MQ with my two handed melee + sneak archer, and have just been aimlessly wandering around picking up side quests. I managed to leave a bunch of good quests and cities (Riften, Solitude, Thieves Guild) relatively untouched, so i'm actually looking forward to the next run through.
That is what I WAS doing. I had left Dawnstar, Solitude, Markath, Dark Brotherhood, all untouched. But then I realized, I wasn't likely to start a second character. At least not any time soon. So I decided to finish up what I wanted to finish up with this character in case I never go back. So it's just the odds and ends. The two masks, and then turn in the Skeleton Key and offcially close out the Thieve's Guild line. That's probably going to be about it.'hotdogcollars said:

I decided to start an evil character. The only reason to "help" people is if I will somehow benefit, and where I can I will end up killing where I can. All my followers will end up dead after I have no more use for them.
I doubt it, but honestly have no clue. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I have never looked at that stuff for any PS3 game I have ever played. I didn't even know where to find it until someone told me where to look a few pages back, but I never bothered. I'm really not in to that sort of thing.'NewlyRetired said:

from the sounds of it, if you escaped from jail and cut wood, you've just about covered it. man, after finishing the MQ and then the Civil War and seeing all the messed up pending quest markers, lost a lot of interest in my first character. Prob advise folks to save those for last if you want have side quests, etc you want to finish.
I have actually not done either of those things. So I guess I have my answer huh? Also, I saw someone talking about an achievement for collecting all the deadric weapons or something? I wouldn't have that one either as I turned down the oppurtunity to get Ocham's Razor as it required killing an innocent.

You could always try Dungeons & Dragons Online, if you want to try the whole MMO thing. It can completely be free-to-play, although you will have to shell out a few bucks if you want to see some of the cooler stuff. Older games include the Baldur's Gate Series (1, 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2), Neverwinter Nights (not sure how many of those there are?).Dungeon Siege 1 & 2 were pretty good as well - not in the D&D series per say, but in that same category.Dragon Age 1 was good - still have not played 2.If you want the core AD&D experience and have not played any of the previous games, I would start with Baldur's Gate 1 and work your way up from there. Caution - it is built on the 2nd edition rule-set, so if you are not familiar with the THAC0 system or AC -10 to 10, then it may be different from what you are used to. Outside of general quests, these are some that you could be missing (not saying you are, just a sample)1) picking 50 pockets2) getting married3) escaping from jail4) collecting 15 of the 16 deadric items. 5 items are easily missable depending on your choices in the game5) cut wood and make food6) returning the Thieves Guild to its former glory (very specific type of quests need to be done in multiple cities), missable if you sell a certain set of armor before you complete7) finding all 13 standing stones8) bounty of a 1000 in every cityMost others you should get just by playing the game as you have.

I think you are as you specifically asked if you had anything left to accomplish. The trophy's/achievements can give you an idea of what you may be missing.
I didn't ask if I had anything left to accomplish. I said I didn't know if there was anything else I wanted to accomplish. And by "wanted to accomplish," I meant fun things to do. I can guarentee you I am not going to chop wood or cook food.

no need to get snippy. I was just suggesting a way for you to see if there were things you wanted to accomplish by looking at the trophies. I have no idea how you intend to decide whether you have anything left to accomplish if you don't know what is available to accomplish but I don't really care obviously, was just trying to be helpful, which was obviously a mistake.

in PS3 its in in the XMB (PS3 Home Screen) menu under trophies, if you're in game, just tap the PS button to bring the XMB up.

Go to your XMB menu from where you launch the game in the PS3. In that menu you will see an icon for all your trophy's. Just select that one and you will see all your games listed, then just select Skyrim to see your Skyrim trophy's. For the Alchemists out there--- Outside of having the Fortify Alchemy gear is the only way to make stronger positions to use perks? Or will they get stronger as you rank up?
