80s, I will do these if I can catch them before you?  I feel like I don't do enough on playlists since I don't know how to form one for the group.

The following Aretha songs have already been drafted for other playlists:

Climbing Higher Mountains
Eleanor Rigby
Freeway of Love
I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)
I Say a Little Prayer
Old Landmark
Sisters Are Doing It for Themselves (w/Eurythmics)
The House That Jack Built

The following Otis songs have already been drafted for other playlists:

Down in the Valley
My Lover's Prayer
Try a Little Tenderness

@krista4  I read yesterday that Paul McCartney and his daughters Mary and Stella are putting together a meatless cookbook of some of Linda's favorite recipes, along with some of their own, and it will include family stories and photos.  It comes out at the end of June. It will be called "Linda McCartney's Family Kitchen." I like trying vegetarian stuff, and will probably get it.

Oh, I will love to get this!!

Really looking forward to the final product of this one.  2 artists I love what I hear from, don't know much about, and have been wanting to dig deeper into.  I assume this is a "1 degree of " channel, like Jack and Dave - correct?

THE ARETHA AND OTIS SHOW

279.XX:  ARETHA FRANKLIN - SPIRIT IN THE DARK

Link

It's a Frank morning. Yes, morning. I'm doing it up @Ilov80s style today.

Round 279.A:

Guitar Hero

Willie the Pimp -- Frank Zappa

Frank absolutely shreds this song from Hot Rats. The vocal is by Captain Beefheart.

Round 279.B:

How Bizarre

Dirty Love -- Frank Zappa

Over-Nite Sensation, along with its successor Apostrophe', which was recorded at the same time, is Zappa's most conventional work, yet it's still full of songs about, uh, unusual predilections. As with most of the album, Frank sings this one himself.

The poodle bites
(Come on Frenchie!)
The poodle chews it
(Snap it!)

So far so good. Just arm soreness like the first time. We'll see what happens later tonight and tomorrow morning.
Still just the arm soreness. I was a little achier than usual when I woke up but that's gone away. No fever, chills, sweats or anything like that.

However, my wife has a headache (which I understand is a common side effect) and expects to stay in bed most of the day.

It seems to affect women more than men. I had soreness for a few hours the first day and then I was fine. My wife's soreness lasted into the next day and she was super drained and tired feeling the next day .

Yep, I felt fine and my wife was really sore with a fever the next day.

The Soft Parade is considered The Doors most experimental album, and the title track is all sorts of weird. It has several passages/movements in it, where it's like 4 songs in one, and the lyrics are bizarre. I've always wondered what John and Paul thought of this tune, especially Paul.  I'd put the lyrics in spoilers cause it's a long song, but I don't think spoilers are working.

Round 279

The Soft Parade - The Doors  (How Bizarre)
When I was in high school, I would recite the opening spoken-word passage at random times (not in class) to mess with people.

I didn’t put them on since there was already Chapin on the playlist, but my two favorite storytelling songs of his are Mr. Tanner and A Better Place To Be.  Both heartbreaking.

Yep. Both of those plus the two selected for the playlist are on the Greatest Stories Live album that I mentioned earlier. That's the definitive Chapin work IMO.

Round 279

How Bizarre

I could probably draft from this category for a week straight. My wife thinks 80% of what I listen to is weird( ie horrible) while I think it's wonderful.

This track was something I had in mind for the Free Your Mind channel but since  it could be months until that's rolled I'll out it here.

If Monster Magnet and the Smashing Pumpkins had an illegitimate love Child it would be this band.

We're going to get it to I think. Mrs. NV is vegan and I'm "flexitarian" I guess but haven't really had any meat since Christmas aside from a couple slices of pepperoni on a pizza that was left at my house.

We made an incredible veggie (in our case vegan) lasagna over the weekend, I'll post the recipe in here or maybe bump my old vegetarian recipes thread.

I left my computer charge cord at the cottage this weekend so need to get caught up on the past few days now (we're back at the cottage for today and tomorrow for a little mid week break with Mrs. NV working half days from here).
