Genrepalooza Presents: FG Radio - Tons of Lithium but very little Chill (2 Viewers)

Not sure if the first one is "turbo" enough for the turbo channel, but it's one of my faves from them, and it does kick in at the end.   Not sure about this yacht rock stuff, so figured I would throw 2 picks at this channel:

TURBO (X2)

17.01:  AUDIOSLAVE - HEAVEN'S DEAD

Link

18.XX:  QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE -  THE LOST ART OF KEEPING A SECRET

Link

I don't want to draft this song, though it qualifies for Octane. But I saw a discussion the other day saying if it was a Def Leppard song in the 80s, a Kenny Chesney country song, or a Foo Fighters single, we would look at it and respect it as a great single, well written, radio beauty. With that in mind, take a listen and report back your feelings without giving away the song to others (or don't, I'm not your dad).

It'll be interesting to hear people's Road Trip selections
Channel description:

Get in your ride and drive, and let Road Trip Radio please everyone along the way! Road Trip Radio presents a hand-selected mix of all kinds of music from the last 50 years that all share one goal - to make you wanna roll the windows down and turn the radio up? From “California Girls” to “California Gurls.” From “Shake It Up” to “Shake It Off…” and everything in between!
That could be pretty much anything that's uptempo.

My wife downloaded a Disney road trip playlist to her phone that she plays on all our long trips. I might take something from that (that has nothing to do with princesses).

See, I would have guessed road trip music was more mellow

I guess I was thinking more slow and steady rather than pedal to the metal. Maybe I’ll just take songs that are car/driving related.
I also like songs that are more on the cheesy/karaoke side on long drives, as the singing keeps the peeps in the car awake.

First thing I thought of. My brother played the #### out of Pyromania. Brings back memories.

As far as the song goes, nope. Terrible. Cloyingly and falsely nostalgic only like new country could be. Saying it would have been a Kenny Chesney hit does nothing for me for that exact reason. I don't like the Foo Fighters, either, and that's probably why. Because they're formulaic, non-threatening rock n' roll, which I hate.

In all, thanks for posting, but I don't care for it. I'm listening to the synth pop metal stylings of the Lep right now.

Oh...look what you've done to this rock n' roll clown

Shade45 shut out today, but several people haven't picked rounds 17 and 18 yet. The Bridge, Yacht Rock and Turbo was one of the worst possible draws for Shade45 on a board full of football fans mostly in their 40s and 50s.

Rally up and dress to kill
Lace your boots and crush your pills
Run around and tell the gang
Polish up your dusty fangs
Everybody in the band
Kissing cheeks and shaking hands
Children on the TV screen
Chipped teeth and electricity

I had some Shade and knew it was a category, but decided not to throw it.

Plus, I never really get to pick any Turbo songs ever because they're largely nostalgia and don't hold up too well. But I figured this would be my chance.
