The studio version was already selected for this playlist.Radio GaGa Live at Wembley '86 by Queen (Radio, Radio)
It's just a case of an errant subtitle, nothing major.
No, you can't.
I didn't know what to do either. I was just going as if it was a chain. I figured having Rick Rubin as the producer could lead to good stuff, but Dr. Octopus went a good route with Queens, NY, too. I think everybody just bailed. I was exhausted and laid down for a bit. It wasn't you, it was just the tiredness and I'm sure that went for most everybody (that it wasn't you, but some other circumstance).
Whoops, searched Gaga like an idiot. The studio version was already selected for this playlist.
Round 566:
Emo Imo
Happy -- The Wrens
I don't believe The Wrens were ever identified with the emo scene, but you'll never convince me this song, especially the vocal in the second half, doesn't qualify.
Also, don't be fooled by the song title.
It is.
It's not that they didn't stick around, it's that they didn't produce much of anything. They existed between 1990 and 2019, with long hiati because of record company shenanigans, failed negotiations, writer's block, "loss of confidence in the new material," most of the members taking day jobs, and finally internal infighting. The Wrens didn't stick around long enough to be associated with any scene.
long hiati
I'm listening to a playlist right now that I put together based on a Genrepalooza, maybe even this one though I don't remember since it was so long ago that it started.
It's Frightened Rabbit. And I know that Northern Voice is the one who introduced me to them, and I associate them with him so strongly, though I also know The Dreaded Marco has been a big fan, and maybe others.
Anyway, he and I don't get along at all these days, but I wanted to acknowledge how profoundly I'd been affected by one of these drafts. I almost can't stand how much I love this band. Not having known of them or seen them before he died is a huge regret, though I wonder if I could have felt even more devastated by his death if I had. As it is, I can't listen to The Modern Leper without breaking down, every time.
It's all heartbreakingly beautiful. Thank you to NV for that.
He posted in the Father's Day thread yesterday. He didn't participate in this thread when it started, because he was too busy at work.Speaking of which, is @The Dreaded Marco around these days?
I am still crazy busy so I’m not around as much but I check in from time to time—not posting very often though (never really have posted much).krista4 said:Speaking of which, is @The Dreaded Marco around these days?

Aw, it was indeed a precursor to being ill. I’ve had crazy stomach problems the past day and lost five pounds. Sooooo… not great. I should be fine though. No loss of taste or oxygen trouble. Just a stomach bug. Thanks for asking, simey. I should be on the mend soon.@rockaction How are you feeling today?
I presume you want the category to be Radio Radio?
Huh. No. She shouts out London constantly and and the scene is set in London’s flats. Thanks, though, for having Spidey senses up.I presume you want the category to be Radio Radio?
You're fine with a cover. That's how we were doing it before.Round 567 - Noir - Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm
Yes, I know the Jackson version has gone. Don't care.
Round 568 - I See Knickers - The Camera Eye - Rush

I should be on the mend. No stomach issues to speak of this morning. Got your back also, otb.hope you're righteously on the mend - got yer back
I loved your post for the Chapin, too, and am going to give it a listen, but this one was on my short list for the channel. One of their '80s efforts, but a good and memorable song compiled on Ramones Mania back in the day, an album that was my introduction to the Ramones.

There's 2-3 very good songs on A Bigger Bang, but most of it is rough ... justice.
Dunno which number roll this is, but it's not 1. We have a playlist already.Keyboard Warriors (songs with keyboard work in them) (first roll)
Another Chapin song where the Greatest Stories Live version is better than the studio version.Round 568
I am the morning DJ on W*O*L*D d d d d
Playing all the hits for you wherever you may be
The bright good-morning voice who's heard but never seen
Feeling all of forty-five going on fifteen
W.O.L.D. - Harry Chapin (Radio Radio)

I can't imagine you'd like any band that would think of covering Rush better than Rush themselves. You couldn't find a cover of the Rush song?

Circling back to this as the Spotify algorithm is playing a Teenage Fanclub song for me....and Grand Prix
