Getcha passports ready - the middle-aged dummies are going to the British Isles! Top 31 song countdown. (1 Viewer)

@Ilov80s- just ordered a Zombie Dust at the restaurant after the game! I'm holding you personally responsible if I don't like it since your mention made me order it. ;)
I am on number 3 so they are working for me. It has some hops punch so hopefully you like that!
It is good. I've largely lost my stomach for booze in the last 4-5 years, and feel like a lightweight when I struggle to finish a pint.

If I have 2+ I usually feel like dog **** the next morning.

I got the 411 from one of my wife's friends that the closest for cheap weed is the U.P., and oi hadn't considered that. Looking at it, i think it shaves off 2 hours from the round trip. Still 7 hours just for the drive though. I am leaning towards trying it on the 23rd though.

who knew Bruce Springsteen wasn't British
You probably didn’t know their was a “new” Jersey
Yes, that6 where the Amboy Dukes were from.

I thought they were from the center of the mind
I think I was the windmills of the mind
50,000 Miles Beneath my Brain adjacent
Are you 8 miles high?
Nope, but i am one toke over the line.

Glad it was at least enjoyable even if you aren't drinking much.

That sucks Wisconsin doesn't have recreational yet. Just ridiculous in 2023.

My son has decided that the name of the cat who came in the house through the window in that “throw the challenge flag” commercial is Frank.

He definitely looks like a Frank. Very handsome cat. Gonna have a good life with those guys.

In other news, this John Wesley Harding song is pretty cool.

Forgot all about JWH. He's an interesting guy. He used to live in SF in the 90s before the dot com boom. He's written a few novels under his real name Wesley Stace and wrote the introduction to the Modern Library edition of Dickens' The Haunted House.

I had to take that drug test this week, and when the guy told me I'd have to take one, he said it all sheepishly and scared. I told him that, even though I'm in Washington, I don't partake (nothing against it and many of my friends do, just not my jam), and it was the loudest sigh of relief I'd ever heard. So dumb at this point in history. And the company I'll be working for is in Colorado, so it's not like some puritan part of the US.

Also, I like this song from The Searchers a lot. Kudos to the almost-drafter.

John Wesley Harding (real name: Wesley Stace) lives in Philly these days and has visited my friend’s record store.

This is me nowadays. I'll order a beer when I go to a show but that's about it.

I was in the UP for a day on my North Woods trip last summer. It was funny to see dispensary billboards like 500' from the Wisconsin-Michigan border. There are about a dozen dispensaries within a half mile of my house.

Needles and Pins was on my last five. Love that song. (I guess just not enough for it to make 31.)

pins ...zzzzaaaaa

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

I've entered data from all the lists into the five different documents. I still need to sort and calculate and check for errors, and then I'll need to go through every song for the actual countdown and make the song titles and artist names exactly the same, and add links for those dummies who didn't send any, but Step One is done!

Oh, and since I always comment on a song when making another post, I just had another Mrs. R moment when I realized that this Alarm song (Rain in the Summertime) is one I knew and already loved.
I always thought they started to sound more like U2 once Bono and co broke big, and this song is exhibit A of that.

Absolutely do on this song!

Hey, lookie there, apparently Beth Orton is not from Tennessee or some such. Whom was I mixing her up with?

Their breakout song inspired by a Stephen King novel just missed for me.

Thanks for taking my call, long time listener, first time poster.
How can I refresh the current page on my android phone?

And I know about scrolling to the top of the page and swipe down, but that's impractical on long pages
There's probably a better way, but I do the three-step

Using Chrome...

1. Slight thumb down
2. Hit the vertical ellipses in the upper-right
3. Hit the reload icon in the upper-right

Viola!
